A great place to meet! Coffee is great! So are the people! Recommend this coffee shop!

On a adventure Sunday I went exploring on what I believe is the next big area in Sacramento. Broadway. Clearly I’m not the first to have this thought but what I know for sure is this area has a bright future ahead. Great restaurants and brewing spots are just the start. This place is one of the reasons why I’ll be making my way back down here. Coffee was perfect. Food was yummy and unique. I got the biscuits and gravy and the French toast. Both had their own spin on the classic dishes. I give this place three stars. Worth a detour if you aren’t in the area.

My new favorite! I’m living the pour overs. The food is amazing and the selection is awesome. I might take some lavender lemonade to go before I leave. Great start to a Sunday.

Great location with a friendly staff and management. The food, whether behind the glass or fresh from the kitchen, is amazing. The beers are a great bonus for those afternoon weekends of studying. The place gets a bit smokey at times due to spotty ventilation.

Met up with a good friend today at this Old Soul location, and I’m just as impressed about this one as I was with the Alley and Weatherstone! This location is the roughest of the three, nestled near 3rd and Broadway. I’ll have to admit that I didn’t feel as safe leaving my laptop unattended to go to the restroom(which I don’t advise doing anyway), but I’m warming up to it as more friendly faces and families are seen. That aside, this place has a wonderful cement meets hardwood décor, which is a little different from the brick industrial + skylights of the Alley. The staff is as expected of an Old Soul: warm, courteous, and lively. They knew what they were doing and had a lot of light humor. Since it’s nearing summer, I got myself a cold brew with a splash of nonfat, which was done equally as well as I had it in the alley. The seating around lunch time is rather generous, and there is a much greater variety of seating: traditional tables, barstools facing the street, patio seating, and lounge chairs, just to name a few. This place feels like more of a traditional coffee shop versus the Alley location, as it’s missing the full bakery and roaster. That doesn’t take away from the experience, as the spirit of the place lives on through the friendly staff and the well-crafted drinks.

I love this place. Usually very busy, but great coffee and tasty cookies. Good sandwiches as well. Big thumbs up for all the outlets and the free wifi.

I came in a few times during my stay. I didn’t try the food but the coffee and lavender lemonade were delicious! Service was so friendly too. I wish I got the chance to try the food because their breakfast and their sandwiches look tasty.

I’m baaaack! In my mind my opinion of this place from my first couple visits was meh. So when my boyfriend said he wanted to go to grab coffee and breakfast and take some photos and videos, I thought eh… But my foodie palette has expanded since our first visit and I actually appreciate this place fully now! They’ve got a full breakfast and lunch menu much like their location in midtown. We planned to have another foodie day so I kept it light — granola with yogurt, honey, cranberries and bananas. It was super yummy! Not too much yogurt and just enough to mix through all of the granola. It was actually quite filling and they give a good portion of every ingredient. They also have a pastry case at the counter so check that out too — the banana bread was calling my name for next time!

Lets just be real here. Regardless of the location you frequent, Old Soul is the best coffee in Sacramento to date. Sure, there’s some notable competition, but for my money, Old Soul is as trusted as Old Faithful. I will say this though: a few years back they made sticky buns. Those delicious, sticky cinnamon rolls were amazing. Alas, I haven’t seen them in a while.

I’m never disappointed when I come here. It’s my favorite location out of all the old souls. There’s more room to sit than the other locations. Tried the turkey bacon avocado and it exceeded my expectations. Bread isn’t too dry, it’s not oily, and it’s a good food filler. Salad is good too with the balsamic dressing. Coffee is super delicious. Anything works. I can come here to focus and do work too and they always play fun music which sometimes makes me never wanna leave. And apparently Sunday is a popular day for this place. I’ve seen the line extend but they’re pretty quick with orders. No one ever waited for too long. Great great place. One of my favs.

The food is extremely salty. Incredibly salty(bruschetta dilled salmon). Bartenders are too lazy to bring the coffee outside, overhead them complaining(we left a good amount of tip too). The coffee wasn’t brew nicely it tasted burnt. Starbucks has better and that says a lot. Will not be coming back. The interior was nice.

Came here with my friend and her lovely dog on a Sunday afternoon. I ordered a caffe mocha along with an Italian sandwich. Right after I left to grabbed a table at the patio, my friend came in to order her stuff. She overheard the two staff complaining how they did not want to take my order to me since I decided to sit at the patio. This kind of shows me their lack of customer service and lack of work effort aka being lazy. My friend notified the two girls who were«complaining» that she’ll take my drink to me. They immediately switched their attitude and said they’ll bring it out. Anyway, the Italian sandwich was a bit too salty for me. I can barely finished half of the small sandwich. The coffee wasn’t the best. It was burnt a little. Overall it’s a two star for me since the interior was the only nice thing about it. I don’t think I will be coming here for a long while.

If you are into non-corporate coffee shops with strong brew and tasty sandwiches… this is your spot. I did forget to wear my beanie, grow out my facial hair, and ensure my hair was non-shower worthy long before coming here… so I didn’t blend in with the trendy hipster crowd; however the coffee and food still tasted the same :). The cold brew gave a great kick, and the Italian sandwich was chock full of quality meats… simultaneously melding with the warm cheese and light drizzle of Italian dressing. I didn’t even want to take breaths, and just kept biting away like a wild animal. A great space and mellow vibe to get work done or just hang out. They wont kick you out if you are a new soul or like things smaller than 40 acres.

After a long hike all morning at Hidden Falls in Auburn, we came here to recharge our energy. Out of a party of 5, I was the only one who was not very pleased with my meal. :0(I do not want to say bad things for little small places, but I can easily say everyone at my table really enjoyed their meals. Maybe I was just a fluke. I never go back to complain only because I learned from people I know personally who work in the food industry to never say a thing until you make it home due to YOUNEVERKNOWWHATHAPPENSBACKTHERE. In all fairness… everyone enjoyed their food at my table. I had a Turkey Sandwich. The«lemonade» I had tasted like a normal lemonade. I dont remember but it had a quirky name for it. The problem with my Turkey Sandwich is that the avocado mix inside had parts that were very salty and some parts that were not. I assumed they must’ve not mixed the salty parts well enough. I was the odd ball out of my group. OHWELL… better luck next time.

Good vibes only ! I love old soul and I must say this location is going to be a frequent destination from now on. Old soul serves some of the best coffee in town. I love their whiskey dreams beans and I alway enjoy the honey latte art in a cup. The thing I love about old soul is that it’s comfortable and welcoming… like a well loved neighborhood coffee shop should me. This spot feels more urban and less«hipster.» People seem more real. Lots of seating inside and outside. They serve food and beer as well. Good vibes good vibes !!

It appears I have a love hate relationship with Old Soul at Broadway. Their food is always spot on. Two issues are bothering me, first the flies are back. I have eaten at other restaurants here in Sacramento that leave their windows wide open with no screens and don’t have a fly issue. Second the customer service is spotty and leans toward poor customer service more often then not. The bummer is that customer service is more important than stellar food. I will go to a place with average food over stellar food when they have stellar customer service!

After two visits for this Oak Park café shop, I’m totally addicted for this one! Old Soul Co delivers the finest drinks, pastries, and sandwiches right at your table. As I entered, the atmosphere and concept are very relaxing and comfortable inside filled with wooden, vintage items that surrounds the whole room. There’s plenty of room available no matter where you sit on the comfy sofa, bar stand tables, nor the picnic-inspired tables too. The employees are doing a great job for making the customers like me very friendly and approachable. No cons at all! I haven’t got a chance to ordered their foods, so I’ll try to come back for my next visits. In the meantime, I did ordered two different drinks so far. First, I ordered their signature black iced tea. As I slurped it, it tasted not that bad! It has the exotic flavors of the leaves on their black tea that makes this tea a huge hit! Such a good drink. Secondly and finally, I also ordered the Lavender Lemonade. So far, it tasted alright although it’s too sweeten for me after I drank it. I hope this lemonade needs a reduced sugar option for that lemonade in the future. One of the good things for that lemonade, is the natural flavors of the lemon because it’s squeezed made! Additionally, the lavender is defiantly the best add-on feature that this lemonade needs. A well, worthy drinkable lemonade! The parking can be an issue here. You can park it at the nearest surface street parking available. Otherwise, you can also ride a bike, walk, or use public transportation easier without the hassles. In the end, Old Soul Co at Oak Park is the finest, and the most relaxing café ever made in the Sacramento area. A well, worthy visit! My rating: 4 solid stars.

I popped in here on the way to the airport to pick up a present for my Mother-In-Law. She loves coffee and I’m always down to grab a bag of something you can’t get just anywhere. I also wanted to get something for my Boss. It was Sunday morning and the line wasn’t long. I was 3rd in line and there were about 3 people behind me. I would have grabbed the bags I wanted myself but the 12oz sizes were somewhat hidden behind decorative jars of their different options. Luckily, an employee pointed them out to me and helped me pick a few flavors. He also offered to grind the beans for me on the spot. I chose The Remedy Espresso Blend for my Boss since she’s always on the go and drinking instant coffee. I thought it would be nice to get her something with a bit more substance. It’s a bold blend and smells fabulous. My Mother-In-Law was gifted a bag of Whiskey Dreams Moka-Java Blend and the Costa Rica Reserve Don Eli Micromill. I got myself a cup of the Lavender Lemonade that was on display in a large glass jar on the counter. I thought it was absolutely delightful but my Husband felt it was too sweet, which was out of character since I’m usually the one to shy away from sugary things. This transaction set me back about $ 60 since their 12oz bags are $ 18 – 19.50 and their website uses words such as boutique, artisan, and craftsmanship. All jokes aside, you can tell they pour their love into each serving and I’m glad I was able to give my money to a local coffee roaster. Good grinds are one of those things that you can rarely go wrong with.

First time back in over a year so I thought I would update my last review. I came today on a Tuesday morning at 7 a.m. I still think this place deserves 4 stars and the opinions I expressed in my last review are still the same. I’ve noticed that all three Old Soul locations sell breakfast and that it seems to be different at each location. Today I ordered a 12oz mocha and a breakfast sandwich for $ 6. The mocha was good as I’ve come to expect while visiting Old Soul and the breakfast sandwich was good too. This location, like the other Old Soul locations, tends to attract an age diverse crowd. This morning many people(myself included) are stopping by to get coffee before they head to work. I would come back if I was in the area.
