Way over priced!!! Store location closed but they are at Davis farmers market on Saturdays. $ 6 for ½ breakfast sandwich that was so small it was only enough for my 3 year old. No thanks!

Farmer’s Market in Davis $ 3 a pop but $ 5 for the special bacon maple I friggin love their popsicles! so much flavor perfection! Their strawberry coconut is my favorite but that is so hard to say when the sweet potato and chai, hibiscus and lime are so delicious. I will miss this place when I move away from Davis for sure

Closed? Good riddance. Long story short. Fat Face hired the rudest and most condescending employees I’ve ever encountered. They gave off the impression that they hated their job and that they were too cool or superior to give you the time of day. Don’t wind up in a place that has the audacity to put shit in your food.

Out for a walk downtown and stopped for popsicles with some friends. One of the girls saw a shirt she immediately had to have, so good on Bows and Arrows for having some fun things for people to pick up. Two of us headed back and my friend ordered four popsicles for our friends waiting outside(she was treating them) and I pulled out my $ 5 bill to order mine. The woman behind me immediately moved in front of me before I could order. Okay, whatever, you thought I was with the other girl, I can wait, no biggie. The woman gets her beer and starts to make small talk with the girl working the counter, both are making lots of eye contact, smiling, and asking some background info on each other. Not the ideal situation to interrupt… awkward… so I just sort of stand there sheepishly with my money until the girl at the counter looks at me. «Sorry, can I get a Strawberry Coconut?» The female customer walks away with her beer and the employee goes to get the popsicle. She comes back, takes my $ 5, and without looking at me puts the two dollars change in her tip jar and walks quickly away. I stood there stunned. I didn’t want to believe what just happened, but it did. I was shocked, embarrassed, and completely caught off guard. I looked up for her to look back at me so I could say something – nothing – and I will never be that person to reach into someone’s tip jar. I walked outside, still bewildered by what had happened, and told my friends what happened. All shocked. One of my friends insisted I go back inside and say something, offering to go back in with me. I didn’t want to. The guys outside smoking noticed and looked sort of concerned as well. I grew more embarrassed and insisted we leave. My friend(who frequents the location and suggested going) said they could sometimes be sort of snobby like that and she was sorry. I’m a great guest, an excellent tipper, really friendly and considerate of people’s situations. I served coffee and food for years and know exactly what life is like behind the counter. This was not okay. I will not be back.

O Fat Face, you bring back so many memories from Davis. So when i saw fat face at off the grid I knew I had to make a stop for their delicious and creative ice pops. I got the mango sticky rice and even though I wanted the melon horchata I was too full; next time, next time. The mango sticky rice popsicle was delicious, fulled with coconut milk, mango, bits of sesame and rice. I knew that this pop was filled deliciousness once i bit into it and the consistency of it wasn’t like ice but like a really really thick ice cream and chewy. Shared this with my gf and kinda lost track of sharing it until i ate more than half of it. Though the popsicle was very good, I felt like the mango could have been a tiny bit stronger. But man, the popsicle really did capture mixture of mango sticky rice. PS. PLEASE consider bringing food to Off the grid, i really miss your cola braised pork sandwiches from the davis days

Fat Face, you came to me! I was delighted to see the Fat Face stand at Off The Grid Fort Mason tonight. I tried mango & sticky rice($ 3.50) & that thing tasted exactly like my favorite dessert to share with the fam bam. Loved the ever-so-slightly tart mango & bites of sweet sticky rice with a hint of coconut milk. 5 stars! I tried a bite of bf’s strawberry coconut, which reminded me of a smoothie we’ve had before. Wish flavors were more pronounced, but still a solid 4 stars for this one. Nice to see you Fat Face! Come back to my hood & I promise to give you another warm frisco welcome!

Fat face has some pretty tasty popsicles. I was at their stand at Fort Mason’s Friday OTG. They were selling popsicles for $ 3.50 a pop and it was standard size. It was super cold that day and there were still tons of people lining up for their unique flavors. I tried their Apricot Lavender and it was super fragrant. I really loved the fruity yet floral flavor. Surprisingly refreshing. Suggestion: on a hot day, maybe cut up the popsicles so customers can sample them beforehand? If I ever find myself in Sacramento, I’ll definitely seek out this place.

Girlfriend got the apricot and lavender popsicle. $ 3 for a pop? Sounds crazy, right? I believe, after tasting it, that my instinct was right. Yes, I enjoyed it but I don’t think it’s worth that much. You can definitely taste the apricot as well as hints of lavender. It was also not too sweet, very light indeed. I appreciated it greatly but once is enough for me.

Food at a consignment store… I’ve hit a new level of weird! Okay, I’ll take my judgmental pants off and give it a try. I’ve heard about this rumored place, had no idea it was called Fat Face, odd! I even checked in to B&A, because I didn’t know the name until after we ate lunch and left the building. Ooops! If you saunter right past the clothing and accessories, as I did, you are greeted with a spacious coffee shop style setup. Chalk board menu’s, chairs of all ages, races and colors at tables of the same sort. A couch for lounging and a cute hodgepodge of patio furniture for dining too. Small food menu, but gets the job done. A few sandos, salads, and soups — nothing to complain about, but also nothing to rave about. They offer libations, caffeinated beverages, and teas. I was clueless, but I was schooled about their popsicles. Apparently they are known for these things, although it was wintery weather, I was still salivating. However, shivering while eating didn’t sound so great, so I will be back during the warmer months. I ordered the grilled cheese and vegan potato leek soup. Like I said before, it was okay… but, literally, it wasn’t anything to write about. I guess it was somewhat of a healthier version of its evil twin the fattening version… which is why I wasn’t so thrilled about it. It’s fun to try new things and scope out one of the«talked about» places, yet sometimes the hype is all it is! I’ll be back in the summer for a popsicle, but I’ll probably skip the shopping and the dining experience… Sorry, Nordie is the only place I like to shop and eat at…

I was starving when I came to Fat Face for dinner, and was sorely disappointed by the limited menu. It seems more like a café for lunch or an afternoon snack. I got the grilled cheese and lentil chili, which only came with half a sandwich. Remember how I said I was starving? At that point we started discussing second dinner options. My niece also had a strawberry lemonade popsicle which I stole a bite of, super yummy! I’ll definitely be back for a popsicle when the weather heats up… the Thai iced tea sweet potato flavor sounds awesome. Didn’t order one just because I needed more substantial noms.

I’ve been craving their popsicles for the past few months; because it’s winter, they haven’t been coming to Davis’ Farmer’s Market with their popsicle cart. I especially love their Avocado and Kaffir Lime and Lemon Strawberry and Basil, but I have tried literally EVERYTHING on their popsicle menu. They also have an Arnold Palmer popsicle that is quite interesting. Everything tastes fresh and delicious, never overly sweet, and so very refreshing during those summer months. The prices are a bit steep($ 3 a pop), but my self-control wasn’t really that great to begin with, so I usually start with 1 popsicle, walk through the Farmer’s Market, decide to spend my money on popsicles instead of groceries, and guiltily get another popsicle on the way out. Don’t judge!

Since Bows and Arrows is right across the street from my brother-in-law’s workplace, we invited him to meet up with us for lunch. As we ate, he confided his first reaction to our request: Why are we eating lunch in a thrift store? But the great food won us all over in the end. The sandwiches on the menu were split between 2 vegetarian(poached fig and eggplant«meatball») and 3 forms of pig flesh. The BLPT(with peaches) sounded tempting, but my husband and I ended up splitting two kinds of pork sandwiches: –Mesquite Pork in a tangy housemade BBQ sauce with housemade coleslaw on Acme bread, served with mixed greens and vinaigrette. –Mexican Coca Cola-braised pork, topped with cotija cheese, romaine, and tomato salsa, served with kettle chips. And we couldn’t resist the chocolate chip cookies, fresh out of the oven!(Or a strawberry rhubarb popsicle.) The patio was also gorgeous, filled with blooming flowers and inviting tables. It looked like the perfect place to savor an afternoon or evening meal. And I do mean savor, cause the food took a while to come, even though it was far from busy. Still, with food this good and style to boot, something tells me that this will not be the last time we dine in this thrift store.

Good popsicle from a small, cute truck at Sacto MoFo 5. Very sweet and refreshingly cold, though a bit pricey for a simply popsicle.

I came here with a friend a couple days ago, having fallen in love with their breakfast sammiches at a farmer’s market in Davis. I gotta tell ya, this place was a little hard to find. We circled the block 3 times looking for the piggy with the popsicle before we decided to park and hunt it down on foot. Fat Face, it turns out, is within a gallery/boutique called Bows and Arrows. The place is absolutely adorable — cute clothes, dreamy outdoor patio — and a nice distraction while you’re waiting for your food and drinks. I ordered a cola-braised pork sammich and omg it had everything I love: tender pork, avacado, tomatoes, crumbly cheese, large green lettuce, all on toasted and buttered bread. I sort of moaned a little through a few bites, it was so good.(Sorry if I embarrassed you Ruth! ~_~) The sammich comes with either soup or salad. Since the soup of the day was already sold out, I had an awesome salad of spinach and arugula with candied almonds in a vinaigrette that I can only describe as perfect. I’m really not one to order salad on its own, but this was so yummy I might actually do that one of these days… when I feel like being healthy anyway. Heheh. With our lunch, we had a couple of sangrias — one in white wine, the other in red — and they were also well-made. Even though we were absolutely stuffed devouring everything we ordered, we could not leave fat face without getting a popsicle. My all-time favorite is their chai and sweet potato but I decided to try the fudge espresso. It was good, but not as great as my favorite. Definitely coming back here. The gourmet sandwiches are a bit expensive, yes, probably a paycheck treat kind of thing. However I’d be happy sitting in the lovely patio with a popsicle, maybe an appetizer, and sipping on some yummy drinks.

I tried the Fat Face popsicles at SactoMoFo. Holy yum! Avocado & Keffir Lime. Thai Tea & Sweet Potato. Lemon Strawberry & Basil. They’re a mix of that sweet familiarity with an expected, delightful bite. HIGHLY Recommend~ And at $ 3 you can’t go wrong.

I love this place! The owner is really nice, she always lets me try something new she is cooking up. I love the season fruit salsa, they are just devine. In addition, the lime and avocado popsicle is just nicest thing to put in your mouth on hot day. Sometimes I enjoy their milk and cookies, so yummy! The ice tea is really good I can a hint of hibiscus which is really refreshing. They have options for all kind of diet. I am not vegan but the mushroom ruben is amazing when I want a light sandwich. As a person of Cuban decent they are pretty great Cubano sandwich! The BBQ pork is amazing great to eat in the summer. The split pea and veggie chili is perfect on a sick or something to keep you warm in the winter. Everything I’ve eaten here has been really good no complants here!

I paid close to $ 14 for a sandwich and popsicle for lunch. Good thing I chose the complimentary water, or else I may have shelled out $ 20! My pork sandwich was just ok. Nothing stellar or notable for the $ 10 price tag. I’ve honestly enjoyed and got more satisfaction from the deli sandwiches across the street at Safeway. I thought the $ 3 lime avocado popsicle was mild in taste but very refreshing. My friend ordered chips and salsa. She was informed that they ran out of chips but could serve their peach salsa with potato chips. Potato chips and salsa? Ok, I didn’t ask if they make their own tortilla chips, which I’m assuming they do, since Safeway is right across the street, but… really…potato chips and salsa? The lovely fresh peach salsa would have been delicous with some store bought bag of tortilla chips! Did I mention that Safeway was right across the street? Needless to say, I was not impressed with the food at Fat Face, though I would still recommend a $ 3 popsicle for an indulgent treat and enjoy it in their laid back café.

Much better than their previous location. Fat Face is inside Bows and Arrows on 19th St. across from Safeway. They have a bar space with beers on tap, wine, a couple tables, and a great patio space. not to mention their menu of sandwiches, bar bites, and popsicles. Prices went up. I feel it’s well worth it, though. $ 9+ for a sandwich– you get it with greens or chips if they have them. The chips were sweet potato and my sandwich also came with a carrot that was treated with balsamic vinegar, I think. I’m not big on carrots but I gave it a try and much to my surprise, it was vinegar-y and nothing like you expect of any carrot. I loved every piece of the meal. I miss the half sandwich option, though. Menu changes as needed and you can«like» Jaymes’ Fat Face on Facebook for updates or just show up because I’ve never had a bad thing there. You can’t go wrong. Street parking OR better yet. park in the Safeway parking lot and walk across. Can I say that? Sorry and thanks, Safeway.

The wait is over! Fat Face is now open in Sacramento! Fat Face shares the space with Bows and Arrows vintage retail shop and is located toward the back. The interior can be described as retro cool while the outside seating can be described as whimsical. The food! Beer Poached Fig Sammie($ 9) — Caramelized onion, arugula, and goat cheese. At first glance I was not too impressed. It looked like a lot of bread, but everything balanced out nicely. The sandwich has more of a sweet rather than savory taste. It was also light because there is no meat in it. Eggplant Meatball Sammie($ 9) — Tomato sauce, mozzarella, and arugula. A more filling sandwich but I preferred my other sandwich choice. You get a choice of greens or sweet potato chips as a side. Get the chips! Green Tea Mango Popsicle($ 3) — Kind of expensive… Both flavors were equally represented in the popsicle. It was good but I wish it was juicy! I will come back in order to try their unique flavor combos! FYI– Street parking, so it is best to park across the street in the Safeway shopping plaza and walk over.
