Sorry to have to give such a poor review. But we came at 11:15 for a quick Thursday lunch. We waited over 45 minutes for our meal. We paid over $ 40 for a salad, pancakes and a crêpe meal. We were rather frustrated by the long delay and mediocre food

I’m so glad to have finally visited this spot! I visit Sacramento on a regular basis so usually after I disembark, I’m starving because I don’t take a lunch in order to get out of the Bay Area and the horrid mess that is known as Friday traffic jams. I was craving a salad but my friend wanted a hamburger so we decided to try Café Dantorels since they had never been there either. I remember going to this corner spot back in the day when it was a coffee spot known for their Mexican hot chocolate and the subsequent establishments that came and went. Café Dantorels reminds me of Pluto’s here in SF and Crepeville: a diverse salad menu, savory and dessert crepes, huge burgers, and French fries to die for. Think of it as a spin on the traditional salad spot! On my first visit, I ordered just the Caesar Salad, which was very large and the portion plentiful. Not only was there the traditional Romaine, but a generous fine shredding of carrots, which I found wonderful, and the dressing is amazingly good. The two burgers(Vegetarian/Smoked Tofu and the Creamy Cilantro) came with a generous serving of French fries. While the Smoked Tofu vegetarian burger was applauded, the Creamy Cilantro burger lacked the«cilantro» aspect, partly due to the fact that there was only maybe a teaspoon and a half of the creamy cilantro mayo/concoction smeared on the bun. I thought they were going to drop a smattering of fresh cilantro onto the patty or something. If anything, perhaps the pesto burger would impart more flavor instead of the cilantro dressing? On a second visit, we decided to do strictly dessert, so I opted for the Caramel Apple crêpe w/additional ice cream on the side. My friend ordered the Strawberries Nutella crêpe since they were out of the Brownie a la mode, unfortunately for him. The crepes here in the US are nothing like the ones I had during my various trips to Paris but it provided the perfect blanket to my lightly baked apples sleeping inside. I also ordered a coffee on the side to keep me upright since we were both exhausted from the heavy day. The staff here are mostly youngsters either on break from college or high school but do a good job in delivering items efficiently to our tables. My coffee was delivered about 3 inches short of the rim since she made a puddle of it when she was ringing me up and didn’t wipe the cup, but I’m going to blame lack of coordination ;-) And on another takeout order, the young lady took the time to come over and check on my order for me, a move I appreciated. All in all, I’ve had nothing but great experiences here and I look forward to my continued visits to sample from their huge menu(brunch next!) as well as dessert stop when most of the establishments are closed for the evening.

There is literally a giant wall for a menu here. And there hasn’t been a single thing I’ve ordered that hasn’t been delicious. The staff is always friendly and attentive. Even the other customers are great. It’s always a great environment to enjoy a good lunch here.

I thought that this place was great. One of my coworkers suggested we head here to get some work done together. There is tons of parking; a small parking lot on the side of the restaurant and then plenty of spots on the streets around too, some one hour some two hour. You order at the counter and then they bring the food to you — the line can get really long during their busy times so I recommend either getting here before or after the lunch rush. They have outside seating with misters for hot days, though we sat inside. I got the strawberry chocolate crêpe and my coworker got the Fuji salad — a half size is huge! We both also got iced teas which they generously walk around and offer to refill. The food was delicious and I can’t wait to come back to try more. Some of the tables have outlets, and one of the employees kindly cleaned off a table for us when I needed to charge my laptop. Nice atmosphere and clean bathrooms as well!

I work not to far from Café Dantorels. I have visited for lunch a few times and then to pick up a quick bite. Pros: There Asian salad is very large and yummy. The french bread is amazing. Cons: However, it was rather expensive. Personally, I would rather have a smaller salad for less money. I came in for a bagel at 8:30 am one day and there was nobody in front of me. It took them 14 mins(i watched the clock) to give me 1 bagel with cream cheese that was priced at $ 4.95. Therefore, I will only visit every now and then for the salad. I hope they can learn that sometimes«less is more».

Had the chicken sandwich with a huge breast, it was certainly a mack daddy patty. State of the art air conditioning really perked the place up– it was righteous bro. Also had the potato hash that was straight up ridiculous. However, the water had no lemon and tasted like regular water. 5 stars.

Pros: Great ambience & outdoor seating, good variety on the menu, staff was pleasant, tasty lemon, cucumber, basic infused cold ice water. Cons: When taking your order no warning given on extra charges, long wait time. Food was mediocre, not excellent, not terrible. Because of the $ 2.50 upcharge for fruit, turns out the kid breakfast was as expensive as our breakfast meals! $ 0.50 upcharge for whipped cream(sigh, Starbucks doesn’t charge me for whipped cream). No warning given on upcharges, only when I signed the receipt I saw them, and at that point, not in the mood to hold the line up or fuss about it. I ordered the sausage omelette which was greasy but good, but not great. My wife ordered the banana nut bread french toast which just tasted like banana nut bread, no french toast aspect to it really at all(but it was good banana nut bread). We wanted to try a new place out, but probably won’t return, sticking instead with our other preferred breakfast spots.

Food was pretty decent, but a tad overpriced. California burger, grilled chicken burger with side salad instead of fries($ 2.50 up charge), and a beer — $ 37. Beer was not cold enough(suspects the cause was the glass wasn’t chilled) and the lettuce in the chicken burger was very wilted. On top of that, the cashier seemed to have attitude. No smile or greetings. She indicated the beer list printed out in front of the register and i turned to my partner and said the taps are right there(behind her). And she said«or you can look at the list in front of you.» Excuse us for wanting something on tap and not seeing a clear indication of tap vs bottle on the printed beer list. All other servers were friendly, just the cashier was unfriendly. Would have been nice if someone checked on us at least once after we got the food, but that wasn’t too big of a deal.

Reminds me of crepeville! It is order-at-counter style so the server only comes to deliver your food which is cool. I got a sandwich and the BF got an omelette, even though we were there for dinner. :) They have a HUGE menu. It is hard to decide. We held up the line trying to decide. A great place to come if you’re looking for an up-scale outdoor seating, complete with a modern waterfall and fire pit, complete with granite tables. Amazing spot, we can’t wait to come back.

They have a pretty large menu, almost overwhelming. I’ve been here several times and it’s about a 50⁄50 chance that the side of potatoes at brunch will be cooked through and not still a little crunchy in the middle. But the rest of the food has been good and the portions are generous. The banana bread french toast and the chicken pesto crêpe are my go-to’s. I also like their coffee. You order inside and then take your number to your seat and they bring your food out to you. They have a nice, wrap-around patio seating area, so that the tables can be a little more spread out, but it does tend to fill up when the weather’s nice.

First time here cute little place big menu; like the outside Patio with the marble table which a fire can be lit pretty waterfall nice atmosphere mommy got the veggie burger which she didn’t care for $ 12 overpriced I got a classic cheeseburger with bacon it was decent kinda lacked flavor. I have to say the service sucked it took about 40 min for my burger to come out I had to go check on it to make sure they didn’t forget about me a burger & a corona cost me $ 18 way overpriced for a burger and a beer the plus side the burger was big although service was slow food is a little expensive I would come back to try one of their salads but it’s not a place where I just have to become a regular

Whenever I come here I always feel welcomed! The atmosphere is fantastic and the employees are really sweet and always help me out whenever I need a little advice on the items on the menu or just asking them a bunch of questions and they don’t look annoyed or irritated they’re always happy to help you!

The Good: Ample street & lot parking. Fairly low prices. A variety of vegetarian options for breakfast, brunch, lunch & dinner. The tofu crêpe is one of my favorites. Yummy café drinks The Bad: Expect a long(~30 min.) wait on weekends during brunch. Only two bathrooms can cause a long wait.

This is a «order then sit» kind of restaurant. I love the huge menu they have when you first walk in at the counter; it’s a bit overwhelming but has so much variety. The pastas and burgers are always good, I have never had the«savory» crepes, but the dessert crepes are so good! I always get the Strawberry and Nutella crêpe. I swear I could eat one all by myself. I do believe that with ice cream instead of whip cream would make the crêpe way more delicious, especially during the summertime. But, it’s still very good. This is the place to go for my boyfriend and I when we want variety. The prices are good, and Café Dantorels is good for any meal of the day: breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Definitely a place my mother would love. Very peaceful environment, with unique art and colors on the walls, this spot is perfect for afternoon lunch or breakfast. Me and my girlfriend came here today, I had the western burger, and she got the south of the border omelette… both cooked to perfection, literally. Staff is friendly and helpful, they serve water with fresh lemons. I will say it’s a wait in line and order then have your seat type place. But it’s worth it, totally is.

It was quite busy when I came in for breakfast. I had planned on just getting a salad, but the steak crêpe sounded so good. And it was. It had jack cheese, sundried tomato pesto, red onions, mushrooms, jalapeño topped with arugula and olive oil. Crepes come with house potatoes. The portion was quite generous. Even if you’re not a breakfast person(bagels, French toast, omelets), they have an expansive menu from pastas to burgers to sandwiches. A misstep on the staff’s part was when the busser came and picked up my friend’s plate to clear the table. She wasn’t even finished eating– rude. We sat inside because it was cold and rainy, but the covered patio seemed nice. There was a fountain and a fire pit table.

Despite the awkward name you are trying to figure out the meaning behind… and tongue twister your mouth blurts out when telling your friend how much you love the place, Café Dantorels is quite a worthwhile experience. If I had a pet tarantula I would name it Dantorels… not sure why but I just feel like it’s a good tarantula name. Anyways, there are no spiders here, just fantastic coffee and a WIDEVARIETY of food options. You feel like breakfast? Oh wait did you change your mind and want a big juicy and unique burger? I’m sorry what was that… you feel like a sweet OR savory crêpe on third thought? Ahhhh you mean to tell me you actually want a salad? Wait wait wait… it’s cold out and a warm home made soup would hit the spot? Oh I’m sorry you decided to settle on a sandwich? Wellllll they got it ALLL. Absolutely fantastic massive menu right when you walk in… so it’s about as easy as it gets. I had one of their weekly rotating soups… loved it. Also had a omelette with some breakfast potatoes annnnd would order it again. Check it out, no wait usually either. Sold!

I’ve been coming to this spot for 15 years now, for good reasons: good food, nice surroundings, fair prices, and great service. The current owners have done a wonderful job with the outside seating, the garden surroundings, and the interior. If you haven’t been, you order at the counter and they bring the food to the table. Check the specials, most days they have a unique offering or two posted. The food is very dependable. I like most of the crepes as well as the different eggs benedicts. The prices are $ 9-$ 10 for a large meal. They serve most plates with a large side of grilled potatoes, very filling, and tasty. The coffee is also excellent. My partner loves the latte, while I’m a fan of a good old cup o’ Joe. I’ve only tried their taps a couple of times, because I usually get my beer at Dad’s where the best selection is. It’s great to see Dantorels is keeping up with the rest of downtown though, offering some good local brews.
