Their egg puffs and udon stir fried noodles It’s a hit or miss place honestly. Probably depends on the cook of the day/night, but there are times where I’ve ordered the noodles and it tasted like shit. Most of the time though, it was pretty good. I’ve also tried the salt and pepper wings, & they’re pretty standard anywhere you go in Sacramento. Their egg puffs are always on point. 3 stars for the bipolar cooking.

This restaurant had numerous past owners, and from experience these new owners has to be the best(in my opinion). I almost eat there every day and surprisingly i dont get tired of the food, service is decent and food is great too me! They got crêpe too, and i think its great for dessert. Time wise is wonderful, they close late so whenever you’re feeling hungry just drop in.

We came here last night and were glad that they are open til 2 am(1:30am to go/pick up only). It’s closed to the city college so most customers were students. We were greeted with a smile as soon as we walked in, seated right away and when we saw the extensive menu, we decided to just dine in instead of ordering to go and eat in our hotel. I had the spaghetti with meat sauce and hubby had the spare ribs with sauce over rice. Both were served big and both were really tasty. I also tried this drink made of coconut juice and mango mix with popping boba and some sort of jelly, and it was worth the price, i think $ 4.99). Very refreshing. We were not able to finish our food we were so full after eating half of our orders. We were also checked by 2 of the sweet ladies from time to time making sure how we liked the food and if we need anything else. oh, they refill hot teas too. Nothing special on the ambiance but i wasn’t bothered by it. We will be back to try desserts and whatever picks my palate on their wide array of menu– selections.

Yummy Café is best for late night eats. It’s pretty much the only time that I seen them busy. You can pretty much count on this place to always be open when every place in the area is closed, so it’s definitely a dependable Chinese eatery in the area. We always get the Bake chicken or fish over rice with red sauce. Their Chinese dishes are okay, nothing that will blow your socks off but it’s decent. I would recommended the salt and pepper chicken wings as an appetizer.

Tortilla Chip Girl, Binky, and I made our way to this café last Saturday night for some scrumptiously sweet and toothsome desserts. TCG, in all her time as an Asian college student in Davis/Sacramento had NEVER previously been(*cue shock and horror*). Binky and I had to make that right during our latest visit as affordable, late-night Chinese food + desserts is a MUST for all. 1. Egg Puff — Our egg puff was slightly smaller than expected, and not as warm as I would have liked. Additionally, their egg puff wasn’t nearly as «airy» in the middle as other egg puffs. The flavor was still yummy though! 2. Red beans soup with«dumplings» — I wish the rice balls(«dumplings») had been filled with sesame paste or peanut paste, or SOMETHING. They were a little overcooked and kind of mushy(rather than chewy). I did enjoy the soup, however — it was nice to have on a cold, rainy day. 3. Mango/Coconut Sago — MM, this was perhaps my favorite dessert we ordered. The condensed milk mixed in the fruit cocktail/mango concoction was definitely delicious. The sago was nice and chewy. Beware, however — they definitely«fill» this dessert with canned fruit cocktail to make up for the lack of mango LOL. Still — it didn’t bother me much as I rather liked the sago. TCG also ordered a HK milk tea. For four items, the bill came out to be around 17 dollars! :)

Came here somewhat later on a Friday like 11pm or so with a big group that had just played badminton for a few hours, so we were pretty hungry. It’s open fairly late, so it’s be a great place to grab a late night bite. The menu has most dishes you’d find at any hong kong café. That being said a good chunk like 4 or 5 people from my group ordered a baked dish such as baked pork chop, which can come with tomato or white sauce, and then with rice of spaghetti. I went with baked pork chop with red sauce and spaghetti. The portion of this dish is pretty good for the price point, so I’ll give them that, but flavor-wise, it felt a bit off to me. It could have used more flavor, and to me the dish tasted a bit too sweet, which I wasn’t really used to. I also split a strawberry smoothie with a friend, which again had decent flavor, but it had a strange sour aftertaste. We couldn’t really quite pinpoint, why it was so sour at the end, but I guess the drink was decent. Overall, a nice place for some late night grub. If you’re not sure what to get, a baked dish is a great start. I was in town visiting, so I’m not from the area, and I don’t really know how this places stacks up against other restaurants, but apparently my friends like to come here somewhat often.

First time here and I was not impressed by the food at all. I ordered the wonton & dumpling lo mein, and it tasted very bland. The lo mein tasted saturated as if it had been cooked in shared woks. The quantity of actual wontons and dumplings weren’t generous either. Although the food was affordable, it definitely was not worth the money. Service was subpar-they never came to check up on us. Parking was plentiful and convenient, and the interior setup wasn’t bad, but I definitely would not come back again and I don’t recommend it.

I’ve been here about 5 times in the past and every time has been about the same. I came here with a group late at night looking for some delicious Chinese food and this always hits the spot. Generally, their kitchen is a little slow especially when there are huge groups that come in late at night. I was getting angry that the food took so long to be cooked but it paid off in the end because I was very satisfied with the taste overall. Food: Ordered the 3 dishes for $ 24.99 which we chose Ma Po Tofu, curry fish balls, and beef scrambled eggs. The Mapo tofu was surprisingly on the hotter side but not the point where you’re in need of water immediately. It’s a subtle hot and full of tofu and a little bit of pork. The curry fish balls were on point and had the perfect combination of tastes. The beef scrambled eggs were pretty good but I was expecting a bigger portion(not that I minded it too much). Dessert: Ordered an ice cream crêpe with green tea ice cream. There is nothing bad I can say about the crêpe. They also included some nutella, I think, because I tasted hints of hazelnut on top of the dark chocolate drizzled on top. The service was slow just because there were only two waitresses servicing at least 6 big parties that night. However, this is definitely my go to spot for a variety of foods late at night in Sacramento. I think I’ll be trying their milk teas next time!

Came here on Sunday with the family and the food was so good. As for the service was ok, they need to come around and refill the waters. I would recommend it and I will be back.

My family came by after walking all day in the corn maze. The food is okay, just standard, cheap, Americanized Chinese food. What gives it one star, is that my brother found a piece of METAL in the calamari rings. Wtf for sure. He lost his appetite and refused to eat anything else on the table. When we informed the waitress, she just apologized and took the rings off our check. They didn’t offer to comp our meal or anything, I mean they didn’t have too but that’s disgusting. What if my brother chomped down hard and cracked his tooth? Seriously, if the deep fryer is so old that pieces of METAL are falling off of it and landing in food, then it needs to be replaced. Don’t be cheap at the expense of your customers. I’m never coming back.

My family and I were at Davis and we were craving for Cha Chaan Teng food. Since there are none out there, i Unilocaled this place in Sacramento. All dishes come with milk tea or lemon tea. For $ 7 and a dish, that is cheap considering if you compare prices from the bay area. I didn’t like hoe the menu doesn’t have anything special. It’s very basic typical food. Nothing over the top or anything just a little uniquem we ordered salted fish with chicken friedrice, a spagetti dish, and xo sauce noodle dish. The noodles were a bit oily for me and the food didn’t really stand out too much. I have yet to try their desserts and special drinks, so this review is for their entrees only.

I’ve returned a few times and my experiences were better. They have remodeled since the last time I have visited. The food is still fairly average. I don’t think I have found my «go to» dish here yet. The prices are affordable and the portions are a decent size. Tried the baked spaghetti and it was alright. It did not have too much flavor. I think I’ll stick to rice. They also have a lunch menu which comes with a milk tea or lemon tea.

It really bothers me that I have to give yummy café a low rating. Since I have ordered from them a handful of times. I came across this place looking for Asian food late night to curb my munchies. And Yummy café was the first thing to pop up. I called in my orders and it would always be ready when I got there. I live like 25 mins away but it was worth it. I have ordered seafood chow mein, Beef Broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, chicken fried rice and the egg puffs. This is what I would always order and the food was always good. One night I decided to dine in since on the norm it would be busy and on the night Amy and I came to dine in the service went to crap. We were seated. The young lady never brought menus or even acknowledged us after being seated. Another group came in were seated brought menus, water etc. I had to get up and ask for menus and the lady said she would bring them. That never happened and she took the other groups orders first then came can brought menus. I just shrugged it off. After sitting waiting to the waitress to come back we just walked out after 15 agonizing mins. I didn’t understand why we weren’t getting service so I took it they didn’t want our business. I told myself I would not patronize this business anymore. But I’m thinking of giving them another chance. I’ve never had a problem ordering take out but darn it! I want to dine in! So I will update my review once I see if I will get served the next time around. As I said the food is good I won’t deny that. But come on Yummy café step you dine in game up!

You were so close to getting five stars before just recently changing owners. SOCLOSE. I get that you’re trying to be all trendy with your new booths and adding boba drinks to your menu but that didn’t distract me from noticing that some of your menu items tasted different, you guys became so stingy with your portions, the new hires are somewhat uneducated, your boba was hard as a rock and once my teeth finally cut into it, it stuck to my teeth, the chicken wings were uncooked and drenched in MSG, AND the noodles we ordered were served cold. So many reasons not to come back. I thought blue moon had horrible food but you know what, They actually have alcohol and karaōke that makes up for it. All you guys have is shitty food, nothing else makes up for that. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Cheap bites for late night. We went after the state fair and there were plenty of seating at 10:30PM. We had the Ying Tang fried rice, thats half white sauce and half red sauce. Definitely a crowd pleaser, the rice noodles with XO sauce. I wasn’t a fan of the rice noodles because they were definitely too crispy and hard. I wish it was a bit softer in the inside. They also had a peanut sauce which I wasn’t a fan of. We ended with the egg puff, which is very standard. Nothing too out of the ordinary. The bill came out to be extremely cheap. $ 20 bucks with tip for 2.

I been here a few times. I usually come here late at night since it’s one of the few places that is open. This place isn’t that great and service is kind of slow. Their food is okay, but we usually just order something small like their egg puffs and sit around to talk. The place is somewhat cheap, but I only recommend this place if you need somewhere to go after 12am.

My friend and I came here primarily for dessert and we were both very happy with our decision! You have to order up at the front counter as well as pay there so it is essentially self-serve. We ordered the coconut milk with sago and sesame dumplings as well as egg puffs. Everything came out perfectly! I loved the sesame dumplings and how the sesame came out and flavored the coconut milk once I bit into it! The egg puffs were sweetened just to the right degree and were super yummy once I dipped them in the milk! Overall great experience but just average service. This place is one of the few places that I’m willing to overlook service for good food. Can’t wait to come back. :)

Usually I come here after going out at night because they close at 3 am, but today I’m to write a good review and honestly I do like this place. That’s because I’ve tried a lot and I’ve finally found what I will order here all the time. Like I said before, don’t expect great service coming to a Chinese restaurant unless you can speak it. And this place, there service isn’t bad, even on their late nights at like 2 am but you food will come out slower than normal. Every one comes here after the club or just to eat because they do close at 2 – 3 am on the daily. This place is pretty big and it’s really good for groups. There’s a screen for projection to watch a Chinese movie on. And there’s a small flat screen on the right. Their menu offers 3 items for 21.99. A regular menu that offers a variety of food from spaghetti, rice, noodles, meat dishes to dessert. A range selections. What I’ve ordered. Chicken wings, salt and pepper tofu, salt and pepper shrimp, pan udon fried noodle with black pepper sauce, salt and pepper calamari, and almost half of the 3 items for 21.99, like: sweet and sour chicken, Modigliani beef, pecking spareribs, salt and pepper spare ribs, basically all of the spareribs with different marinade I’ve tried. I come here a lot at night. What can I say, I went out a lot with my friends. For dessert I like getting the egg puffs with condense milk. Simple and easy to eat. My main dishes that I love to order: pan udon with black pepper sauce, salt and pepper tofu, and salt and pepper calamari. When it comes to the 3 items I finally decided on my favorite 3: the salt and pepper shrimp, sweet and sour chicken and the pecking spare ribs. Honestly if you’ve tried better Chinese food then you have but I really like the things that I usually order, especially the pan udon with black pepper sauce. It’s so good. It’s the sauce that got me, there’s something about it because my friend and I always get it with extra black pepper sauce. Anyway Would I come back? You know it.

I only come here because a. they are open late night on weekends and b. it’s relatively close to my house. The food is mediocre – if that. We usually order the specials they offer(three dishes for ~$ 25) plus the egg puffs(literally the only reason I keep coming here). I’ve tried their mapo tofu(bland and the sauce tastes like it came from a packet), deep fried spare ribs(decent tasting), pan fried udon with chicken(extremely oily and flavorless, chicken was also really dry), beef chow fun(pretty good), wet chow fun with eggs and shrimp(I would like this dish better if they omitted the squid but overall decent tasting), the lunch special baked pork chop(one of the best things I’ve eaten here), and their Hong Kong style egg puffs with strawberry inside(THEBESTEGGPUFFSINSAC… depending on who makes it). Service is non-existent as waitresses simply bring out your food and are never seen again. We usually re-fill our own water and teas and, once we’ve finished eating, proactively go up to the front counter to pay and ask for to-go boxes. Overall, this place is good if you’re DESPERATE to find a place to hangout and sober up after a night of drinking. There are several other Chinese restaurants I’d prefer going to before this one but I’m not always the DD! :)
