The food was well seasoned I didn’t know what to expect. But it was delicious and fresh.. The servings were good and the ambiance was very nice. I will definitely return and recommendation to friends. I tried the Teriyaki chicken with Sushi and Thai Chicken. The sushi looked wonderful and fresh my son ate it all said it was perfect. He’s the expert. ;)

I’ve been going here for about 5 years 2 times a month and all the food is amazing. Customer service is great the waiters and waitresses are very quick, efficient, and talkative. My recommendation is the SunRise roll as it is basically the Dynamite roll with smoked salmon on top with no extra charge, a great value for your money, also the Thai chicken bento box is very filling and tastes wonderful. This place has low prices compared to other sushi restaurants but with medium to high quality ingredients. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.

Guy at the counter told us to sit anywhere waited almost 20 minutes never had a waiter greet us or introduce themselves, worst service ever, never coming back. Just walked out because no service at all. And wasn’t even busy.

I came by just before closing, and they seated us anyway, which I thought was very nice and unexpected. Not many places on this strip let you in if you arrive 30 min before closing. Their rolls are good, but I was most taken aback by the presentation. I’m not sure if they always do this, but the rolls came out in a lovely heart shape! Overall, the rolls are good, but keep in mind that this place is more like a «fast food» Japanese restaurant. The pieces of fish on the rolls are smaller than what you might see at other places, but it’s the perfect place if you’re looking for something a little cheaper but still satisfying and filling. I’ve noticed that some of the negative reviews on here are based on comparisons to nearby Japanese restaurants that are within a completely different price bracket. For the price, it’s really not bad. In terms of the ambiance, it’s a quiet little place – not at all like their bigger location downtown. Their menu is also more limited than the downtown location, but they still carry all the good stuff.

Wait staff is professional and friendly. Had a two item combo with spicy popcorn chicken, and teriyaki beef. I’m not a big fan of teriyaki, but the meal was split with the wife. The beef is very flavorful and not drenched in sauce, it was done perfectly. The chicken was not over cooked or dry, with enough spicy to add more to your liking. We also ordered the dynamite roll. The roll had about 12 pieces, great portions. A little heavy on the sauce, but I like mine without lots of sauce, like to taste the flavors of the fish. Fish tasted great, and was very fresh. I will be back.

Prices higher than their other two locations, yet not as good. Portions were also smaller. I got the spicy tuna roll, which was made with pureed tuna. I’ve never experienced this before. And no sauce on the top. I got it to go, and they only put packet of soy sauce in it. This is not enough for a full roll. I’ll continue to go to the other locations, but won’t go here again.

my brain was fried from midterms and what better way to relax than a lunch off campus! the restaurant is very small but the service is fast & friendly and the food is delicious! it’s a seat yourself style of restaurant or you can order take out as you walk in. my boyfriend & I dined in & ordered two Monday specials: teriyaki chicken & gyoza($ 8.99). we also ordered a volcano($ 12.99 I think lol) and impossible 2 roll($ 11.99 I think lol). the bento box was completely fulfilling. the chicken & gyoza were both sitting in the bento with oil beneath it which was a little off putting, but the chicken was moist & the gyoza was crunchy. the volcano was great! it was a little spicy, crunchy & fresh. the impossible 2 was good as well. you could defitently tell the fish was fresh. the rolls at this location aren’t 50% off. :(& I first thought they were overpriced compared to their competitors’ but, when our rolls were placed in front of us they were 2x bigger! I’ll defitently be coming back during my study breaks!

Went here with my lady, and the waiter never brought us the drinks we ordered. We ordered 2 rolls one fried cali with no spicy mayo, and a firework. My toll came out first and it was the completely wrong roll, none of even the same ingredients, plus it had something I was allergic to. Glad I noticed and didn’t just eat it. Then they let my lady know they had already put the spicy mayo on her roll, but we had them remake it. We were never really waited on. Usually I’m a big tipper even decent if the service was slightly sub par, but I might as well have just ordered to go. No tip from me. We shall definitely be sticking to the one downtown. Much better spot, even if it’s more crowded and further away.

The people who own bento box are selling their customers the cheapest in sushi. The rolls are very sad looking and they compensate with loads of sauces!!! That’s not sushi. I also ordered their sesame chicken salad and the chicken was tenderized paper thin and then battered in a heavy mixture and then fried to a crisp that could ruin your teeth. I am not exaggerating. In addition when I asked the server where the sesame seeds in my salad were, she nearly touched my food. Sorry bento box if there was a possibility to give you ZERO stars i would but Unilocal won’t let me. I am sorry I spent $ 40 dollars there. Never again!

My mom, brother, and I went to Bento Box for lunch 03÷22÷16 after washing our dog, Stella, at Pet Food Express in Loehman’s Plaza. We walked in and had to wait a good awkward minute to be greeted my the man behind the counter who was busy looking in his cash drawer. We told him we would like to sit outside on account of our four legged friend. He said we could grab three menus and sit anywhere. When it came time to order, our server was pretty clueless on the simple questions we asked him to clarify like if the mixed tempura included a few prawns or not. My brother ordered a Bento Box #3 and a(Kappa?) plain cucumber roll. My mom and I decided to split the Sesame Chicken Salad and the Fair Oaks roll. When our food arrived we were missing napkins, chopsticks, and forks for the salad. We also had a waiter change and a slightly annoyed woman brought us napkins as if we were a bother. Here’s the kicker, when we asked politely for our utensils again, she HUFFED loudly and rolled her eyes! Ok let’s chat about the food. Sesame Chicken salad implies it comes with some yummy sesame seeds somewhere on the plate. There were zero sesame seeds, not a single one to be found. When we asked our good friend if this was the Sesame Chicken Salad and not the regular chicken salad, she huffed again(I mean, anything else would have been uncharacteristic) and almost poked our food with her finger claiming the chicken was breaded with sesame seeds. Welp, they must have been pulverized and flavored like bread crumbs, I guess. The Fair Oaks roll was mediocre at best(especially if you frequent places like Mizuki or Taro’s) and my brothers California Roll that came in his Bento Box tasted like what bleach smells like. All in all, a disappointing meal and almost comical customer service. Will not be going back or recommending. Huff.

Went there today at 1 pm to have lunch. the person at the front said«for here or to go» I said, for here and then he said“do you know what you want?” I said not yet– then he told me to grab the menu and seat myself at the far end corner over there(while pointing at it). I ordered the bento box 1 and the chicken was very dry. ordered the Unagi Sushi and cannot even see where exactly the: unagi” part was. The rice was too dry — not like the regular Japanese rice. Service was«meh» like it was a bother for them to ask me of my order.

Wonderful box #3. Everything to perfection. The young gentleman who was our waiter was patient, helpful with many explanations, and prompt with our every need. I would recommend everyone go to this location!

Been going here for awhile because I work very close. There menus arnt updated much more expensive in real life. I got a small bowl and a side of tempura turned out to be $ 21… The fried veggies cost more than the honey chicken bowl? For the quality you get, don’t go here you can get way more food for $ 21 and better. Btw was given no sauce not even soy sauce. The front workers were also rushing me out the door as I was trying to question the receipt

I’ve only been here once and I’m in love. Maybe because the day I went gyoza was there special item of the day and I’m a sucker for gyoza’s. my friend took me out for lunch and order the daily special. I had a side of rice, salad, and teriyaki chicken and gyoza. I believe there was another side dish but I can’t recall. It was all so flavorful and delcious! Next time I come back will be Monday or Thursday(gyoza special) and I’ll take a picture. It was that good I forgot to take one and just ate it all

Really the food tastes like any other restaurant that has«bento boxes» on the menu. Which I do not have a problem with when your out for a quick lunch. My issue with this location is the lack of space. I went to the restroom and found that this establishment has a storage problem because not only was there the usual bathroom amenities like a toilet and a sink there were boxes of guest checks, a dolly and a pile of jumbo size rice cookers! I am not a CDC expert but I do not think that It is a good idea to store anything that will be used in the kitchen in a bathroom shared with the public. Major turnoff.

I waited awhile to write this review because I was debating between giving Bento Box two or three stars. I finally settled on two for many reasons. I called ahead to order for pickup the Teriyaki Tofu Bento Box which online said it came with tofu, vegetables, rice and a salad. There was even a picture of it and it looked like a lot of food. Perfect! When I went to pick it up about 15 – 20 minutes later, I didn’t look at it before going back to the office. Big mistake. It had four pieces of tofu(which was enough), a scoop of plain white rice(again enough) and a separate box with lettuce in it. No vegetables and nothing(except for a small cup of teriyaki/soy sauce) in the first spot in my bento box where the vegetables should have been. I saw a few pictures online before ordering and they all had tempura veggies included, so I thought mine would come with it too especially since I paid $ 10 for… Tofu(which was tasty), plain rice and plain lettuce? I could have easily fixed the same thing at home for much less and with minimal effort. Where was all the flavor? So confused. They did include a tiny cup of teriyaki sauce(which was SUPER salty) but not nearly enough for the tofu, rice and salad. And I missing something here? All employees were friendly and helpful(when I asked for additional teriyaki sauce there were no problem) so no complaints there, but I will not be back because of the price and lack of anything special about the food.

Writing reviews before lunchtime is not a good idea. I’m now craving Bento Box for lunch! Good thing I have a to-go menu at the office. More often than not I find myself and my co-workers just calling in a few bento box orders and picking them up in about 15 minutes. Can’t beat that. I do always have to ask for extra sauce but they never complain. Love that their bento boxes come with cucumber sunomono too!
