Tubby’s Grilled Submarines

I’m unsure why there are bad reviews. This place always has polite staff and good food.

Stood around for 10 minutes while one other customer was helped. Three people working behind the counter and they couldn’t get a couple sandwiches out in this amount of time. There was no «we’ll be with you in just a moment.» Walked out and headed across the street to Taco Bell. They didn’t seem to care at all.

A few years ago this place seemed to have gone down hill. The quality wasn’t as good and I stopped going. Last year I started going back again just to try to see how they were. The Tubby’s that they are today are the Tubby’s they used to be a long time ago. They subs are good just like they used to be! I love going to this Tubby’s to have my favorite subs made like a Tubby’s should be made with their awesome dressing. My family and I had a party platter made for a get together here and they did an awesome job! They will even deliver it if you need it. I recommend this place for their classic subs and party trays! They have been friendly every time I have been in there.

Not sure why this place has bad reviews. Staff is always friendly. I usually get the pizza steak and cheese or the pizza sub which are always delicious. The interior could use some updating but I usually carry out.

This tubbys is BEYOND disgusting. I read reviews on this before I went and went to this location anyways. Sub tasted like PURE SALT. I got the chicken taco with double meat. Seriously. I don’t know what they are doing to their meat but whoever is cooking this shit and seasoning needs to be fired like NOW they seriously have to be DUMPING salt on this shit because I’m the kind of person who salts stuff before even tasting it (did not salt my sub tho that’s just weird) so for me to say this is salty is CRAZY. Also. There was barely any lettuce on my sub! Seriously!!! All I got was chicken and lettuce in my sub and u had to be cheap with the lettuce? THANKS BRO Anyways. I’ve always been a huge fan of Tubbys, and was ready to give up on this place because I wasn’t really impressed with this locations food. The last few times I’ve been here has changed my mind though. Their food has tasted much fresher than before.

I have tried over and over to give them a chance since they are a couple blocks from me … and then have GF bread.
BUT — time after time they screw up my order. How difficult is it to make a steak and cheese, grilled, on GF bread? Or a famous, grilled, on GF bread? Or this last time I ordered online, waited 15 minutes AFTER getting order confirmation email, then went to pickup order.
They said they hadn’t gotten to it yet because people kept coming in the door.
Are you kidding me?
SO I waited, I was «nice» … then my order came out 15 minutes later. Yes, over half an hour for a sub.
Not only did they forget to grill it, they didn’t add the double meat that I ordered /​paid for.
I’m done with this Tubby’s. Glad they are individually owned.

I am unsure why this place has so many bad reviews! Maybe paid Subway shills?
I live about 8 blocks from here, and find myself ordering subs from here about once a month. They’ve never gotten an order wrong, treat me with respect, and deliver a consistent, good tasting product. Never once have I gotten bread that was hard, and the subs are loaded down with cooked steak and peppers, YUMMY.
I always forget to order extra secret sauce, and I ask when I get my order, and they always give me them for free. One time they were busy and we had to wait, and they provided me with a free soft drink during the wait.
We have had 1 party sub (6 foot) done here, and it was excellent, ready on time, and perfectly filled with goodness. Also people seem to complain about how clean it is, but in my experience it is nearly immaculate, and appreciate the extra house plants around the dining area. Now if you prefer tattooed guys you can’t even understand, and dried out meats, by all means go to Subway.
Overall, this is one of my local staples.

Three strikes and you are out. That is my philosophy. I try to give a place at least three tries to get things right and it took all I had to give this Tubby’s those very generous three strikes. I was ready to cut them loose after my first experience here, but as they deliver and it is hard for me to get out for lunch sometimes I kept them around. This last time was it for me however.
When I called to place my order I had to repeat everything multiple times so the lady understood what I was saying. The delivery driver who brought me my order looked as if his beloved cat Mittens had just passed. He was super lethargic and just overall depressed looking. I should have took his body language as a sign that the food was going to be just as sad.
After looking over the menu the Chicken Parm sub stood out to me the most. The description which reads «A specialty made with chicken tenders, pizza sauce, melted cheese and Parmesan cheese.» along with the pictures provided all made it seem like it would be awesome. And then it arrived and I unwrapped it.
The first thing I noticed was that instead of it having chicken tenders as described the chicken looked as it it had been boiled to death and then minced up so super fine that it had the consistency and look of something you’d feed your dog. It was then tossed with a little sauce and then slopped on to the bread. I saw no cheese whatsoever nor did I taste any either.
As far as this Tubby’s goes I am done, fineto!

What is happen to this palace? There new headline should be is «were is the meat? This is a dump of a store. Im not sure what kinda meat they use because you can’t taste it. DONT waste your money.

I have always been a Tubbys fan, but this location has me second guessing. Physically it lacks that «clean» feeling factor. When you go in, you would think they would be thrilled for the business, but the food doesn’t appear that way.
Although it isn’t bad food, its not great like other tubbys locations. My chicken cheddar had too much chicken and ranch and just doesn’t give you a warm and fuzzy feeling as you eat it.
My suggestion is go to the subway just a block down from here.

Fail. My friend goes to the Tubby’s on 14 mile ALL the time, and she loves it, so she took me to this one to take a break from painting (we are both artists), and we got some subs. I live exactly 1 and a half miles away from this Tubby’s, and by the time I got home my cold sub was sopping wet with chilled taco sauce. It was my first time in a Tubby’s. (I ordered the Chicken Fajita sandwich). The fries are cheap and skinny like what you get at bad fish and chips place in south Florida. The obvious disdain and disbelief of the 5 member work staff there was pretty apparent. I doubt they’ve ever had a sub returned before. I have NEVER IN MY LIFE RETURNED A FOOD ITEM. Hint to sandwich makers: Don’t heat up a sandwich and then drench it in refrigerated sauce. It will ruin the food. The brown haired girl was cool though, I wish I dealt with her when I went back in. She should be working at a 5 star restaurant.
