Pros: interesting menu, half-price drinks in the afternoon, don’t have to get out of your car. Cons: Takes forever, no seating inside, takes forever, gets the order wrong and always puts mayo on my sandwich, takes forever and takes really long. Also their bananas are overpriced, but they are basically the only fast-food joint downtown so your only other option is starving to death — which you may want to consider.

Probably the worst fast food experience ever. After the zoo I was feeling ice cream but came across Sonic and a slushie sounded really good. So, we park and go up to the window to place our order. You ring a bell at the window but it still takes 5 min for anyone to come. Ordered two blue raspberry frozen lemonades with rainbow candy and one mango frozen lemonade. We wait… and wait… and wait. 25 minutes and no slushies we were pretty freaking aggravated and again waited 5 min at the window to ask what the hold up was. We wait another 10 min fully knowing walking away from Sonic completely without slushies or our money back was the best option. Outside of absolutely awful service our orders were wrong. Two regular lemonade slushies with huge gross lemon wedges and old nerds and one regular lemonade with a random chunk of mango at the bottom. So not pleased.

Slow. Slow, slow and more slow! This location is so slow. In drive thru for almost a half hour. People waiting in front as well. Hire more staff and get orders correct. Management needs to be changed… SMH

Ordered three drinks: 2 medium blue raspberry lemonade a with rainbow candy, and 1 medium mango lemonade. Literally 20 minutes later, we got two medium lemonade a with rainbow candy, and one lemonade. Sans flavors. And the waitress gave me attitude. Terrible customer service and overall experience. Shut this place down.

This place is a joke! I’m from the south, where sonic gets it right! This location CONSTANTLY jacks up my order and serves me cold food. This morning I ordered a breakfast toaster and they didn’t even toast the bread! This place sucks!!!

I’m going to give this place a 2 because my food has always been good. It is sooooo slow though. Every time we come here it’s painfully slow. Staff are always nice but they need to light a serious fire. I think some management adjustments would take this place from fair to great.

The worst fast food service I’ve ever received. I’ve been a handful of times, always thinking it couldn’t be worse, and then it is. All I ordered was two mini ice creams, and there was one car in front of me. The car in front of me was there for 7.47 minutes. It was my turn. The lady at the window took my credit card and 4.73 minutes later, she appeared at the window, saying the credit card machines were freezing, but that she thinks my card worked. Then she disappeared to make the ice creams for another 4.73 minutes. There were on two employees and one wasn’t even working. I could here the female employee screaming and swearing during the whole process. All I wanted was some ice cream. I scream for ice cream.

Once you lower your expectations a bit for a «drive-up» fast food place, you’ll be very satisfied with your experience. Since this Sonic is in a «bar» district in Royal Oak, I was extremely satisfied with how I was served here. I was there at about 1am when bar people were getting out and I could see that employees were handling it very well. Drunk people are no fun to deal with.

This is the most incompetently run sonic I have ever been to. I came here on Saturday at 1:20pm when there was 2 people in front of me in line and no one else behind me. By the time I got to the ordering window the guy at the window said«please wait a minute», keep in mind during this time there was a total of 2 cars in front of me. Fast forward 25 minutes later and there is a long line of cars behind me at the drive in and about 10 cars that have left the drive through. This is literally the worst sonic drive through ever, obviously worst service ever and they also managed to mess up an order. The owner of this sonic should really start to clean house and hire competent employees, and because of this experience I will never be coming to any sonic ever. You guys are worthless and thank you for wasting 35 minutes of my time. You bring a whole new low to the term fast food, and whoever was working was a total waste of minimum wage and the word labor.

I paid a high price too many times for crappy food. Once I bought a burger, got home and there was no burger in the bun. I called the store and was told they would get me a new one with a free drink. Another time I ordered onion rings and the crust was hanging off the rings and they were overcooked and greasy. I must say that, overall, the service was great. It’s just the food was awful. I tried them too many times and each time the food disappointed. Save your money. There are better non-drive thru options in the area.

First time at a sonic and it was okay. Didn’t really like the shake. Fries were soggy. Burger was good though. It was pretty empty. Even then the staff kept cleaning regularly. That’s always a good sight. I wish they improve their ordering system on the drive in. Though to understand what anyone speaks on that thing.

I keep coming back because the tater tots are delicious but EVERYTHING else about this place is awful. Consistently under staffed with lackluster, sluggish service. We have yet to order a complete meal without errors. Ketchup is doled out like a controlled substance, napkins too. Case in point, our trip this evening. Two orders of tater tots, an order of popcorn chicken and a grilled chicken sandwich with only mustard and lettuce. We asked for extra ketchup packets when we ordered. Food arrives with only one napkin in the bag. No ketchup. Chicken sandwich has mustard, lettuce and cheese? We send the server back for ketchup and a new sandwich. Second sandwich comes with lettuce, mustard, cheese and bacon?! Third time was the charm, but my poor husband ate a good half hour after I did. Variations on this happen every time we come. I should never come back, but the tater tots are REALLY good.

The service is continuing to get worse at this location. The employees have completely taken over the covered parking. The main reason we enjoy going there is I have trouble walking so we don’t have to get out of the car. This is not a one time problem it’s been consistent for the past several months they need a new manager. And they lost my credit card which pissed me off.

I have been to this sonic 4 times, and all 4 times they have botched my order up. After waiting in the drive thru line for 25 minutes(with only two cars in front of us) they gave us the wrong food thru the window twice. We literally would say cheeseburger, and they would say hotdog back, we doubted wether or not they could even understand what we were saying it was that bad. The last time i went they gave me a hard time saying I hadnt payed already which I had, and on top of that they didnt have what i ordered available, and botched the amount of change I got back since they charged me for something that wasnt available. A pack of wild monkeys could manage a restaurant better than this. Absolutely flabbergasting.

They have daily«Happy Hour» deals… posted out front on a big sign. Usually from 2−4…don’t expect them to honor it. I got to the window and asked why the price I was being charged, was regular price when I was within the«Happy Hour» ad…“We’re sorry, we don’t have this deal?”… Stop the false ads folks just to suck people in… you only make them angry when you lie… Guess what? I WILLNEVERSPENDANOTHERCENTATTHISLOCATION. They need to learn customer service within an extremely competitive market… Ask McDonald’s…they are finally feeling it.

My order is never correct here. I don’t understand what is so difficult about a plain burger. Maybe if they would listen to an order instead of trying to rush me through it, they could make it correctly for once. Why on earth would I pay extra for a Bacon cheeseburger and not want the bacon. The other sonic is another 7 or 8 minutes away but I’ll be going there from now on.
