I ordered delivery via grubhub and was pleasantly surprised. I had the pad thai, which was delicious. My companion had chicken gan gai, and found it to be just spicy enough(extra hot level). I tried a bit of the vegetable fried rice, and I plan to order fried rice next time. We also ordered a spring roll, and he had some crab rangoon. Usually, when you order delivery of something like spring rolls or crab rangoon, the texture is off, but these things were still good, and the accompanying plum sauce really enhanced the flavors. We plan to dine in at Ahan Thai soon.

When this place first opened i went there and ordered veggie stir fry with Tofu and medium spicy and found it to be delicious. I admit after a while the amount was stingy and i went elsewhere until i decided to try this place again and found it very good. Better than a few other thai restraunts in the area.

Just ok. Thankful to have a Thai place that will deliver to our home but I wasn’t super impressed with their food. The Pad Thai was neon yellow and super sweet. It was unlike any pad thai I’ve ever had, and not in a good way. It was pretty terrible. However the curry noodles were delicious and made up for the awful pad thai experience. Stars for the curry noodle and delivery but I think next time I’ll try somewhere else.

Im from San Francisco and frequent Bloomfield Hills. Anyway, in San Francisco, we are spoiled with a lot of good restaurants and I am partcular about my food when dining out. I have tried several Thai restaurants and was very disappointed until my friend took me to Ahan Thai… I had the Tom Yum chicken the fried rice with bean sprouts chicken and other veggjes and I was in heaven. The portions were huge to split for two people. If I go back to a place four times, that only means it is really good. The price is so reasonable and the service and ambience is great… This is really worth a try and I promise you, youll be back for more.

The drunken noodles are good. Unfortunately they gave me pad Thai by mistake. At first they said its my fault because she read it back but it was right when she read it. Then wanted me to drive back to exchange it. I just got home! I don’t want to drive back. I asked for a discount for next time and they said that’s not their policy. I have several other Thai places to take my business to that will take care of the customers the way they should have done to me. In not trying to scam them over some noodles.

Ok let me start by saying A) I’M ACTUALLYTHAI! B) I come from 3 family run Thai restaurants and C) I hate Unilocal for giving douchebags like Patrick N a voice and calling him elite because he has no fucking clue what he’s talking about. First of this place does not use canned vegetables with the exception of baby corn and water chestnuts(as the owner said in another review) I’ve been here under 10 times and can never remember what I ordered on previous as I don’t just stick to one thing but whatever it has been its never disappointed me as its kept me coming back when I’m in the area. I’m guessing masaman curry and pad see ew as these are some of my favorites. This visit was pad pak. I judge every Thai place by the brown sauce. I have to say it was very good but there was not enough of it. I ordered hot and the spice was on point. Over all I would say 4 – 4.5 stars but I rounded up just because. Only cons were the shrimp spring roll tastes like all grease as if the fryer wasn’t hot then the first dropped it. Plus there was no shrimp till the last 2 bites.(They use one whole shrimp and wrap it in the end) and the chicken piece were super tiny. There’s an abundant and I’m sure a reason behind it as everyone does something different.

The pad thai had a gelatinous yellow sauce, the fried rice was gross and the gang gai was ok, spring rolls come with red sweet and sour sauce. I’ll be sticking with Bangkok cuisine

I live in troy and have driven here to get take out because of how good it is. They have the best drunken noodles, I add shrimp and mixed veggies to mine. You can never go wrong with pad thai either. This if one of the 2 places places I will get a tom yum soup at.

This place is garbage. I’ve eaten here three times and everything tastes the same. They don’t use fresh vegetables it comes from the can. They use waaaay to many peas and not enough meat. I never recommend anyone go here. It’s truly sad there isnt a decent thai place in down town royal oak area. The closest thai food worth dinning at is Thai Garden and the next closest is sy thai in b’ham. Don’t waste your money.

Ordered delivery for the first time and specified that I wanted the hottest level of spice in one of my entrees(level 5). The food arrived fast, fresh and piping hot. Surprisingly, they actually made it spicy enough of my taste!!! This usually NEVER happens when I order Thai food from other restaurants around the country. 95% of the time, I end up frustrated because my food comes out mildly hot and I end of adding the spice myself:( This Thai restaurant is skilled at preparing quality food/ingredients spicy enough and full of flavor without being too overwhelming. Ordered the Musaman Curry, Basil Beef and the Thom Yum Soup– all were delicious. Can’t wait to try this place again!

The food was very tasty. I ordered medium fried with chicken and shrimp as well as a shrimp spring roll. The service sucked but overall the food was delicious. I will be returning next to try something new. The. Restaurant is very small and cozy.

Disclaimer — This was my first Thai food experience. I am a huge baby about spicy food. They were very understanding, and made my food as mild as humanly possible, and it was delicious. The restaurant was clean, and our waitress was nice and attentive. The décor was ok, country music was an interesting choice(though I’m a fan) it wasn’t what I expected. Over all very good experience though.

I’m not really sure why this place is knocked down so low. They have one of my favorite Garlic Chicken fried rice dishes. They always meet my expectations when it comes to spice level and they were more than attentive. Then again it’s been a while, but not that long. I still thoroughly enjoy this thai. Plus it’s walking distance from all the cool shops in Downtown Royal Oak!

My wife and I found this place after deciding not to wait 30 minutes at another nearby establishment. What a nice surprise. The hot-sour soup had clarity, not the usual off-putting goopiness. The spring roll was hot and steamy. Fried rice was not sticky or greasy. My main dish(pong karee?) was a nice balance of a thin yellow curry, carrots, potatoes and peas(they even gave me a choice of steamed or fried tofu — YES!). The room was cozy with cute but sturdy booths. The staff was friendly and informative. This dining experience was a nice change from the rest of the Royal Oak hubbub.

I did a quick pop in here for a snack and tried their Fresh Spring Rolls. The rolls can be a good representation of what their other food may be like depending on freshness of the vegetables, aromatic-ness of the herbs, and the texture of the rice noodle wraps. The wraps were fresh and not dried out. They were stuffed with vegetables and noodles with them almost ready to pour out. The herbs were fresh with nice aromas when biting into it. The sauce was slightly different than other places. This one had a bit of a smokey hint to it. It was refreshing to have a slightly different flavor and to see they put their own touch into their sauce. The fresh wraps gives you a welcoming feeling to come back and try an entrée now. I hope it has the same freshness and fresh herbaceous flavors the wraps had. I’m not sure if it was my timing or not, but I was the only customer in the restaurant. I hope that is not a bad sign.
