Unfortunately, this place is hard to find, due to very unfair construction, but well worth it. I would say this is the best Indian food in Atlanta. Great place for a date or special occasion. Classy, elegant, and tasty!

The other Unilocalers were right on… the food here is delicious. The samosas were the best we’ve ever had. Garlic Naan was also very good. Ordered the Lamb Badami Pasanda and the traditional Chicken Tikka Massala. We loved the Lamb entrée the best!!! We couldn’t get enough of the almond & cashew cream sauce — scraped the plate with leftover naan. The rice was just right too. Service was satisfactory and overall our experience was noteworthy. Will definitely return often! Thanks to the other reviewers for sharing tips for finding this restaurant.

I had a GC from . I picked this place because I reviewed all the indian restos in Atlanta and this one had really good reviews. My friend and I hopped into the car and drove from downtown ATL to Alpharetta. Yes, this place is hard to find but we found it tucked away in a little corner!!! I have taken my friend to Café Bombay and Desi Spice Indian Cuisine and she thought they were just okay. Im new to Indian but she’s from Newyork and has had really good Indian so i got on a quest to find a good Indian place to take her in Atlanta before she moved to Dallas. It was very quiet and my friend ordered something(i forget) and she liked it. I ordered the goat curry with naan. The rice that came with our meal had corn and fried onions. I abhor onions and pick it out of my food but umm i ate the hell out of that rice and the curry, i sopped up with my naan. Ugh now im hungry :-/But seriously, i’ll be going back here. ETA: I went during lunch time and they did have a lunch buffet that other patrons were eating from.

Oh. My. Gootness. Yes, I said gootness. Moksha = scrumdiddlyumptious Indian. This place has been open two years, and we’ve never tried it before. How could that be so??? Well, we were missing out on a lot, that’s for sure. Everything was delish, from the samosa chaat to the mango lassi, to all the various and sundry entrees we ordered. There were a lot, but the ones I remember: chicken tikka, molai kofta, baingan bharta, tandoori chicken, saag paneer. Yummmmmmmm. And the rice! And the naan! Wa-wa-wee-wah, as Borat would say. Service and atmosphere were also fabulous! We’ll have to do some repeat bidness here, let me tell ya.

We went for dinner. I tried the prawn gassi. Reminded me of home and mom’s cooking. My son loved the Rohan gosht. It’s pricey but Google service and ambience.

Made my first trip to Moksha last night and what a pleasant experience. I agree with the other reviewers who are unanimous in their praise of the food and the service. I only dock it one point because the dish that I ordered(Adu Ishtu) was advertised as spicy and it wasn’t at all. It was well prepared though, and I will definitely order it again and ask them to kick it up a notch on the spice level. It is also true that it’s a pain to get to, but hopefully this will be eventually resolved. Don’t let it be a deterrent to going!

Headed out here to meet my bro for a fantastic Indian lunch buffet. I loved the locale. definitely don’t feel like your in the A. Oh but wait, you aren’t. Make sure to get ready to turn at the first driveway to the left, once you turn on to Old Roswell Rd. The buffet was pretty small and the same price as other buffets around. $ 10 or so. They had the standards on the buffet — tikka masala, butter chicken, etc. Pretty bland and boring stuff. They need to spice it up. don’t bow to whitey! The inside is very cute and the service was good. Honestly nothing really stands out as good or bad to me. It was your run of the mill fare.

This is the Isla de Muerta of Indian restaurants. It can only be found by those who already know where it is. We were about to give up looking for it when we finally spotted it. It’s a cute little repurposed house and was dead quiet on a Tuesday night. We got a fried vegetable app, I got the chicken tikka, and my date got a potato curry dish. It was all very good. Everything had a surprising kick to it, but I’m probably used to more Americanized Indian food. One doesn’t expect fried vegetables to have an after burn. I left stuffed and with plenty of leftovers. Now that I know where it is, I know where to suggest for more authentic(I assume) Indian fare.

I’ve heard of this place. Had one of those nights where I was craving some spicy food. Man it was lucky that I was with people who knew the area cuz I wouldn’t have been able to find this place on my own. The new road they’re building seems to hide it. …I think this is for the best though because it keeps the crowds away. It’s in this big house. Very nice. I’d try to dress up a little if I were you, not like super fancy but try to put on something nicer than jeans and a tshirt. Chicken Biryani was lovely. Good Chicken Tikki. Awesome Garlic Naan. They’re mango lassi was interesting, there was a hint of citrus at the end of a sip. Service was interesting. They were prompt… felt undercurrents of rage from waiter though. Eh, maybe it was just me. Despite that, I want to go back. Just writing this is making my mouth water.

Love the naan. It’s a very good option, but probably about the fifth best in the area for Indian.

Perfect friendly service, fantastic food(we had the Chicken Vindaloo and Tika Masala) all for a resonable price, so go and enjoy!

Am not sure if it is because the road is closed and there are not many people going there but for me this was the worst meal in Alpharetta/Roswell area. We did a take out on Saturday evening — probably the best time to get good food from any restaurant. Out of four entrees that we ordered, 3 were OK but 1(Paneer Makhani) tasted as if it was just taken out of a container. This was the most disappointing meal. I am not going there to give them a second shot till the road is fixed and they have been open for a few weeks after that…

This place is awesome. I’ve never never never ever had such good indian food. The table ordered the lamb vindaloo, shrimp with a coconut sauce, chicken tikka and mutter paneer. the mutter paneer wasn’t on the menu, but they made it by request. :-) great service and ambiance, and all the flavors were so rich. must have been very fresh ingredients and a lot of care in the preparation. i can’t say enough about it. the naan and raita was excellent also. Caution — It is very hard to find due to road construction that has re-routed the road it is on? off of. You cannot see it from the main road, but trust me, it’s there.

My husband and I have eaten there twice in the last few months, and we have really enjoyed it both times. He fell in love with Indian food while traveling to London two years ago(he would have starved otherwise!). We had heard through word-of-mouth that Moksha was a restaurant to try. We were not disappointed either time. While the location makes you wonder if you took a wrong turn(not the fault of the owners, just due to construction in the area), once you get there — the restaurant is lovely and welcoming. Over our two visits, we had both the regular and garlic naan — both were delicious.(I’ll definitely get the garlic naan in the future, since I was craving it the next day!) The samosas were crunchy and spiced fabulously. For our dinners, we had tandoori chicken both times, as well as chicken tikki masala(which my husband loved from his time in London) and the hot chicken vindaloo. All of the dishes were great. My husband drank diet coke while I had a chai masala tea — such a fragrant way to end my meal. The only thing keeping us back from going there more often is a lack of an in-home babysitter.

My basic litmus test for an Indian restaurant is a good tikka masala… it’s a simple dish but a good indicator of a chef who knows what they’re doing. As Sharon K points out, Moksha is not a typical indian place, but they have got a great menu. We started with the Lasooni Dhaniya Murg — $ 9 Described as «Crispy strips of chicken tossed in garlic cilantro sauce». Not crispy and pretty damn spicy, but it was excellent. Highly recommended as an app. Also had their Samosas which were a bit disappointing compared to the quality of the Murg, but good nonetheless. Chicken Tikka — $ 14 «Ginger, garlic and cayenne marinated chicken kebabs». Huge portion with gigantic chunks of perfectly cooked chicken. Chicken Tikka Massala — $ 13 «Chicken breast simmered in a creamy tomato sauce.» Had a ton of food /drinks for around $ 80 with tip for two… not bad. Th Garlic Naan was superb… I could smell it from across the place when we got through the front door. Ditto on the road construction, gives it a bizarre, end of the highway type feel on the outside, but that’s where it stops.

This place is literally a hidden gem at night — hidden in the darkness behind trees and the«road closed» sign — for a few seconds I felt like I was in the middle of nowhere but then saw the brighty lit white house formerly Old Lickskillet Farmhouse. Thanks again to Unilocal for finding this gem. The space is lovely, romantic, service is friendly & very attentive, menu is extensive, and food is delicious — it’s a shame the road construction makes it hard to find, and it’s a shame we were the only customers dining that evening. We had a party of 5, and 2 apps, 3 entrees, and 3 naan fed us perfectly. Our dinner also came with complimentary thin crackers with 2 dipping sauces, and also basmati rice. What we ordered: Samosas($ 6) — 1 order came with 3 samosas. Very good. Jinga Manchurian($ 9) — crispy shrimp in hot cilantro garlic sauce. I got this b/c one of the Unilocalers raved about the spicy shrimp appetizer. I thought it tasted just ok; it was also kinda salty. Tasted more like a Chinese dish than Indian but I guess that’s why they call it «Manchurian». Chicken Tikka Masala($ 13) — my favorite Indian dish and benchmark for Indian restaurants. They passed with flying colors. Lamb Saag($ 14) — tender lamb morsels simmered in delicately spiced spinach w/ginger. This sauce & the tikka masala were delicious with the naan. Chole Haldiram($ 12) — chickpeas simmered in fried onions & tomatoes. This dish was refreshing b/c it wasn’t saucy like our other two dishes. This might have been the favorite among the group. Naan($ 2.50), Garlic Naan($ 3.50), and Paratha($ 2.50) which is multi-layered whole-wheat bread. One word — yummy. I love naan! Gajar Halwa($ 7) — instead of the usual carrot pudding, they made an almond pudding for us w/golden raisins & almonds, plus 4 scoops of ice cream: rose, pistachio, mango, & vanilla. My favorite was the pistachio — I liked that this was«real» pistachio ice cream that wasn’t colored green, plus it had lots of pistachios. I also liked the rose b/c it was different, but I did feel like I was eating perfume. Still, I’m a fan of unique flavors. I didn’t care for the pudding though — it was too dense for me. Overall, I think we all agreed we hope more people find out about this place. The service was really fantastic — drink refills were never a problem. Great venue for large groups. I’d definitely like to come back and try their lunch buffet.

Was recently in the ATL area and had the opportunity to visit this beautiful restaurant. This is not your typical hole in the wall indian joint. The décor in this spacious restaurant is simple and elegant. Okay glutton that I am, I tried the jinga manchurian(spicy shrimp app), baigan bhartha(eggplant), goan shrimp, dal bukhara(black creamy lentils). All were excellent. Too bad I don’t live in the area :(I would love to get the recipe for the jinga manchurian. It was AWESOME! The portions are very generous. I would recommend eating family style so you can try more than one dish(seriously, it’s that good). Go now! It is worth the trip, don’t be deterred by the construction.

YUM! I’d read good reviews about this restaurant on Unilocal and in local newspapers and it did not dissappoint! The atmosphere is lovely in an old home tastefully decorated like a very upscale restaurant. The food was really wonderful, For appetizers we shared Samosas and Sabji Manchurian which was especially good! For dinner we had Adhu Istu(a lamb dish recommended by the waiter) and Lamb Saag and one of the group had a vegatarian dish that I don’t know the name of. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the garlic naam is also special! Overall a fantastic meal and great service. It’s a pity it is so slow — probably a result of the poor economy as well as the construction nearby which makes getting to this restaurant a bit more difficult. Do Go — you will not be disappointed.

The first time I had anything from Moksha was at their stand at the Bridal Event earlier this month. It was their dhaniya chicken… and wow! I was so impressed. The spices were perfect and the level of spiciness was perfect for me. It was a bit spicy but very tasty. I also met the owners who are super sweet and very welcoming. At this point, I knew I had to go to Moksha. Lucky for me, a girlfriend of mine was having her baby shower at Moksha and I was so excited. Now, the restaurant is a bit hard to find due to construction, but trust me… it’s worth the extra drive. Moksha, by no means looks like a typical Indian restaurant from outside or inside. When I walked inside my eyes could not stop wandering looking at every corner of the restaurant and being wowed. The lighting, the colors and the décor is so fresh and vibrant. There is even a fireplace inside the restaurant. The restaurant also has a deck which is covered and a deck outside(uncovered) looking out to the woods where you can be seated as well. In addition, there is a back deck where you can hold events, and a little ways down is a gazebo with a creek running behind it… yes folks… not your typical Indian restaurant. I fell in love with the décor and the design of the restaurant. Oh! it just seemed all so romantic.(Fellas, this would be a great place to take a date and maybe even a great place to propose… out by the gazebo and the creek). Okay seems like I have picked my place to be proposed ;) Now comes the food part… started with chicken tikka(very flavorful and tasty), vegetable Manchurian(spicy and crunchy. yummmm), samosa chaat and aloo ki tikki(my favorites). Good flavor and spiced perfectly. Awesome appetizers. Lunch: Masala Paneer, which was an interesting dish for me. It was two triangle shaped paneers with masala in between and breaded(fried or baked not sure) in a creamy sauce. WOW! Chicken tikka masala and saag and daal makhani… everything m.m.m.m.m.m. finger licking good. Dessert: Ras Malai. Perfect temperature and not cheap with size of the malai… it was so good. What I loved about the food the most was that it didn’t feel heavy, and even after lunch I didn’t feel like I needed to walk around the block to work it off. I am very picky about the way my chicken is cooked because I feel that at some restaurants you can taste the gaminess in their meat. At Moksha the chicken was very flavorful and fresh. Moksha has not only achieved the contemporary and sophisticated ambiance as an Indian restaurant, but also gone over and beyond in the deliverance of their delicious dishes with excellent service.

Okk so I went here for lunch, being indian, I guess I was more crtical, but I have to say I was impressed with this place… it did not smell of spices like most indian restaurants… its used to be a house. turned in to a restaurant and it is soo cute!!! The lunch platter was really good and tonz of food!!! The tikka platter was really good… not too spicy, being an indian place, thats one thing that caught me off guard. the food was really mild! so anyone who can not eat spices… its a good place to go!
