Happy Cuts

A Sign in the window is misleading. It says «$ 9.99 haircut.» After my trim (not even a handful of hair came off) I was charged $ 15.00. I argued that the sign says 9.99 and was told «that’s for a regular men’s haircut.» I argued again that the sign doesn’t specify. I didn’t win the argument and paid $ 15. Also, Helen cut my bangs way too short — she doesn’t know what eyebrows are, I guess. There is a language barrier so be prepared…

This is a great place to get a haircut. I typically get a pretty normal men’s cut, but Helen is able to style and fade to make it much better than the same cut from anywhere else. If you’re worried about a wait, call ahead and she will tell you what the line is like. Thank you Helen.

Helen is a beautiful person and great and cutting hair! My son’s hair looks perfect and she did the best job ever. I’ll never take him anywhere else!

Helen is a great stylist, she know what’s good for your hair, im so happy when i can find her

She will argue with you about what you should do with your hair and ends up doing what she want
When I take my kids in for a cut I want my kids hair cut the way I want … give me ur opinion but don’t flipping do it
I’m really upset about her scratching up my son’s neck with a shaver and really upset I wanted his hair to still be long with just alittle. clean up and it end up getting cut off

Helen does great cuts, but she regularly ignores what we say we want and makes things a little longer or shorter based on what she thinks will look best. Waits can be long because she is the only stylist. Prices are great.
We may not always walk out with what we wanted, but it’s always a good quality cut.

OK, so I went into this place thinking Helen was going to be this sweet great hairstylist like all the reviews said… ummmm… no! My fellow Unilocalers let me down on this one. I took my 3 year old daughter to Helen to get her hair cut and was really disappointed. Not so much with the actual hair cut but with Helen herself. First I called to ask how much she charges and she told me to just come in and not to worry because she doesn’t charge much. So we went in and I told her that I wanted my daughters hair short (right below the ears) but Helen kept insisting to do it her way, which was lots of layers and keeping it long in the back. I told her MULTIPLE times that I want her hair short with light layers because it gets tangled easily and she sweats at night because her hair is all over the place. She kept saying, «No honey, do it like this because when it grows out it gonna look real nice.» I told her I wasn’t planning on growing my daughters hair out because of the reasons I already stated above. BUT she WOULD NOT listen. Like really… WTF. I’m paying for a service, do what I ask. You can do whatever you want with your own kids hair. She was also really impatient with my well behaved 3 year old. My daughter moved as much as a grown adult would and she still seemed annoyed. Helen’s mom was at the salon too and my goodness! She is so mean to her mom! It was really sad. My husband even noticed and he barely notices anything. Maybe I caught her on a bad day, we all have them. Regardless, it was enough for me to never want to step foot into HAPPY CUTS or any other salon Helen works at again. Oh and she charged us $ 15 for the cut.

Really glad I finally found a decently priced, great haircut! Thank you Helen :) As a bonus the atmosphere had me relaxed too.

Helen at Happy Cuts knows what she’s doing! So glad I found her again. Can’t beat the prices, $ 20 for my long hair cut.

Good trim, cheap, fast. Asked for short, got a buzz of differing lengths on the sides and top for $ 7…but the minimum credit charge was $ 10, so I wasn’t sure what to tip. Who knows. It’s the most reasonable place around by ~30%, so it’s hard to care.
*Note: I did my hunt for pricing around ⁹⁄₂₀₁₃. This may change, but it would be hard to beat $ 7.

I have been getting my hair cut here every month now… this is my 4^th time here I believe. Never had any problems. The vietnamese lady that works here is super nice & does a very good job of cutting hair & on top of that the prices are super cheap! $ 7 for a good haircut is a steal nowadays.

WORST SALON EVER If I could I would give it zero stars. This place is terrible. It wasn’t just the language barrier it was the complete lack of skill. My mom suggested this place and said the woman seemed to know what she was doing, when we got there I saw the name and immediately felt uneasy but went with her opinion. We went to go get our roots done (we are blonde), what my mom didnt tell me is when she came before she got her hair cut, not bleached. I went first and she mixed the color/​bleach and as soon as she applied it I felt it sting. Before we were done a man came in asking for his money back because when they cut his hair they knicked the skin behind his ears and on his neck. We ended up leaving with orange hair and chemically burnt scalp. Then on top of it she butchered my hair, and said what I wanted wouldn’t look good on me, translation: I don’t know how to do that.
If you’re getting your hair bleached make sure your hair dresser is blonde.
DO NOT GO HERE– totally unprofessional and inexperienced I promise you will leave disappointed

I just walked in without an appointment with my nearly 22-​month-​old grandson (who is not a fan of haircuts) and Helen was fast and understanding of a toddler’s fears! She was wonderful and I would definitely go back. The only draw back was the$ 6.99 haircut cost $ 10 because I chose to use my Visa/​debit card and I didn’t see anything stating the extra fee. The service was well worth the extra fee, however and would not stop me from returning.
