Amazing family owned a operated venue. Feels so much like home in Roseville with our own local sports favs. Great sandwiches and macaroni salad. A romantic Tradition for us for over 38 years.

I walked in there today I got myself a hot pastrami sandwich that the owner Jason recommended. It was so delicious on sourdough bread I will definitely be going back there! The place is very clean and tidy and there is Giants memorabilia everywhere which is even better because I am a huge San Francisco Giants fan! So I’ll bring my friends and bring in the business on there and so they can enjoy it just like I did!

Better Foods Deli is one of the best delis in Roseville/Sacramento area. The bread is always so soft and the meats are always fresh. The macaroni salad is unique and very delicious. It comes in three different to go containers and the largest one which is big but not large enough for us because we can’t get enough of it. The deviled eggs are yummy and a big selection of sandwiches and sausage sandwiches too. The customer service is 5 as well they are fast friendly and helpful. Lastly all the SF Giants memorabilia is a GIANT plus. Matter a fact I’m on my way there today to get my Cajun Turkey sandwich and the biggest to go container of the crack salad oops mean mac salad. LOVETHEPLACE!!!

Great, fresh sandwich and friendly service. Wasn’t sure what sandwich I was looking for, and the guy at the counter recommended a couple specials, and it was amazing.

Their Reuben sandwich rocks. It’s hot, melty, and packed with corned beef and sauerkraut. The people are friendly, they have a great selection of pasta salads, and the mom and pop vibe is a nice break from chain places. Yum!

Really good, fresh sandwiches. Everything is perfectly balanced on the sandwich. Not too much mayo, not too much mustard. There’s just enough meat on it, and it’s sliced thinly. The staff is friendly, and the sandwiches are decently priced. Literally crave this place sometimes.

I have had this place bookmarked since June of 2013 and I am sorry I hadn’t visited sooner. We were at Royer Park and after playing around we needed grub. This place is literally right around the corner. First off, the sports memorabilia is pretty cool(I snapped a photo of a Dusty Baker signed Candlestick Park seat). Second off, the sandwiches are delicious. I ordered the«Guiseppe Special»(mortadella, Italian salami, Monterey Jack, lettuce, tomato, red onion, sweet pickle, pepperoncini, mayonnaise, mustard) on a sourdough roll. It is a big sandwich. They are very generous with the meats and it is a steal at $ 5.95. This is a super friendly mom and pop that has been in business for 46 years and worth a visit.

This place is a Roseville treasure! I was so happy to move back here just to live by better foods! Their sandwiches are always amazing with fresh ingredients. And their antipasto salad-OMG yum! I have taken many people here & everyone has always left happy! Same friendly faces over the years with great customer service!

Best deli ever!!! Their salads are great too. I typically make my own turkey sandwich and you can just taste the freshness in all the ingredients. The workers are great too and really nice. I will definitely be coming back here and will recommend this mom and pop shop!

We are visiting from Southern California and I was craving a sandwich, and decided to give this place a try. Now I’m used to eating a sandwich from a deli that has their own special dressing, but this place does not have any special dressing, this sandwich taste like a sandwich you could just make at home quick, and also the size of the sandwich is about 8 inches for $ 7, that’s a little pricey for what you get. The sandwich was not terrible, it was just a very basic kind of sandwich. Staff was friendly.

One word… AMAZING. This is a small deli with an even smaller parking lot. The parking lot is the only issue I had but it kind of makes and keeps this place what it is. That is a great little shop that has delicious sandwiches, really good deviled eggs and a pasta salad that looked really good. After looking at my options, I decided to go with a build my own sandwich. The build your own option gives you a choice of 4 meats from a list of about 7 – 8. It also lets you choose 2 cheeses from another list of about 8 different cheese. You then get you choice of bread from about 5 – 6 different breads. The options are aplenty. It took about 10 minutes to build my colossal sandwich which was perfectly fine with me as they were quite busy during the lunch time rush. If you look at my pictures you can just see how HUGE their sandwiches really are. The customer service was friendly and the service was as good as can be expected from a small deli shop. The deviled eggs had good flavor and would get more when I go back. FYI…They do NOT accept credit cards. So come with cash as they prefer that as your payment method. They do accept debit but it comes with a FEE. Other than that, check this place out and support a local small deli!

Lunch was so good that I want to come back for dinner! I had the antipasto sandwich, substituted the salami for turkey, and it was perfection! My fiancé had the meatball sub, and even though I’d never trade mine, I was a little envious of his still, lol. They slice the meatballs which I thought was nice because it makes it easier to eat. I almost felt like it improved the taste too, but it probably doesn’t, I think they just make really good meatballs! I will get that next time though, and will add olives and peppers, yum! Did I mention I got to sit in stadium seats? They have a lot of sports memorabilia. I really dig the old school charm of this place. I believe it’s family run, and everyone was super friendly.

Great ‘retro’/sports deli– especially if you’re a Giants/Niners fan– you’ll love the old posters and sports memorabilia. Girl that took our order was helpful and patient. Now for the sandwiches… — Hot pastrami. Thin slices of pastrami, mustard, lettuce, cheese. The best of the 3 sandwiches we ordered. Think we should have chosen a different bread instead of the soft french roll(that was recommended). Bread was too think and didn’t taste fresh to me :(. Seems like people enjoy the dutch crunch. — Smoked chicken sandwich. Again, the ratio of meat/cheese to bread was off. Too much bread. A little skimpy on the meat/cheese/veggies, but nevertheless, a tasty sandwich(extra peppercinis please!). — turkey sandwich– pretty simple and plain. Guess that’s what people like about this deli– pretty straightforward. Nothing fancy, just simple, tasty, decently fresh food. I like the Cheese Shop in Newcastle better for sandwiches– fresher bread and much larger servings on the inside. Beach Hut deli also has great sandwiches that are drippy and oozy and stuffed with goodness. However, there is a niche for this sandwich shop, as we could tell by their large sized lunch crowd. Paramedics, couples, work groups… all seem to frequent and love this place. One of those places, ‘where every body knows your name… and they’re always glad you came…‘ The sandwiches here won’t break your bank– about $ 6-$ 7(without chips). Much less than Beach Hut deli. A family of 4 ate for about $ 20. Not bad.

It was hot, and I was super hungry before I went to a wedding. We ended up walking down to this place and got some pretty impressive sandwiches. Not only was the service there really friendly, but they were also really accommodating. They made me a mediterranean sandwich(that usually comes with salami) and they made it without. Their breads were fresh and yummy, lots of other snacks around to buy as well. It reminded me of a corner store, with all the candy at kid hands level. The owner is a big Giants fan, so seeing all the trinkets is amusing, if you like that kind of stuff.

When I eat at a deli and am not leaving out of town, I usually always stay in the Sacramento area. Very rarely do I venture up to Roseville unless I am shopping at the Galleria Mall or visiting friends. Well this time, I try out one of Roseville’s finest old school no-frills deli. Which brings me to «Better Foods Deli». Located on the older part of Roseville and directly on Douglas Blvd.(west of I-80), this place has been delivering sandwiches ever since the early 1970’s. And when you first walk into this place, it doesn’t look as if the décor has changed that much since then. The one noticeable thing is there is a considering amount of San Francisco Giants memorabilia in here! And with me being a diehard Giants fan, this already is an added bonus. The menu has all the fixins that includes every sandwich with various cheese and bread choices to truly customize the perfect sandwich. You will also find a wide range of salads and pastas to pair up with your sandwich. I come here with my lovely fiancée on a Saturday afternoon as we are in need for a hearty lunch. As we see how well proportioned the size of these sandwiches are, we decide on splitting the«Smoked Turkey» sandwich(for $ 6.95) on a sweet French roll. This comes with all the produce as well as sliced Provolone cheese, mayo, and mustard. As for our side of choice, I try their homemade potato salad. Even though they were busy with hungry customers, our sandwich is ready in about 5 short minutes. Everything tasted fresh and was of high quality. They definitely did not skimp on the meat. And the sweet French roll bread had the perfect consistency while it held the meat, cheese, and veggies snug with each bite. I particularly enjoyed their potato salad as it is very close to how my homemade recipe comes out. It was way better than any store bought potato salad so I do have to give them props on that one. Service however was a bit on the plain Jane side as many employees seemed a little bit too serious. I do think that they get a lot of the regulars that come in frequently which is what I noticed when I was there. And its in a great location in the older part of Roseville that has way more character and charm than the newer, cookie cutter areas. Overall, this is a very good deli and for the locals that reside in Roseville, I would definitely give this place a try.

Better foods deli has been a familiar face in a crowd of heartless disconnected franchises since first moving to the Roseville/Rocklin/Lincoln area some 8 years ago. How I failed to leave a review expressing my pleasure with this establishment is beyond me. As I enjoy another sandwich, this one lovingly assembled by sultry voiced Rebecca, thinking about all the enjoyment I have been served from Better Foods Deli, I have to say in my opinion, stopping here for lunch will not be something you regret, unlike that time you went to that one place that was shut down shortly after for«questionable» business practices… Lol… From the out side it’s a typical deli. Nothing extravagant. Inside is very simple, a tv showing what ever happens to be of interest to the patrons, the decore that of a 90’s restaurant where everyone used to smoke inside yet there were smoking and non-smoking sections. Brown is the obvious color of choice. You can’t be fooled by the looks of the place. If you are expecting another blah-zaa lunch, you are gonna be disappointed. The meats are sliced on site, the cheeses taste extra creamy, the bread always fresh. I can’t lie and say I can begin to know the sources of their supplies, but I can say everything tastes just a little bit better here. I don’t think I have ordered the done thing twice. Every time including this time, I have been left with a silly, omg that was yummy grin, covering my face. I know I will be coming back soon. I suggest you give them a whirl too.
