I selected this place because we were looking for one with a Mediterranean cuisine for a new co-worker that has recently arrived from Syria with his family. Turned out to be an excellent choice for a delicious lunch and for our Syrian friend who was able to speak to the guys there that spoke Arabic(his English is extremely limited.) Double win! I had the falafel sandwich and found it to be quite tasty. Not sure of what spice was used as part of the recipe. Anyway, we will try to return soon. Keep in mind that it may take a few minutes wait before your order is fulfilled since everything is prepared fresh. Plus, it’s a small restaurant and there were only two gentlemen working when we were there. P. S. If this is your first time, we found that the marker in Google maps was inaccurately placed within the storefront mall. It’s actually on the south side of the parking lot in line with the other stores. #bonapetit #foodie #dmv #wilworksdc

We came here for a quick lunch. Every thing was fresh and flavorful, especially the pita. Highly recommend.

We decided to try Asteroids because Mediterranean sounded good tonight. The food was OK, but they could have done better. We ordered the large hummus appetizer; the hummus was delicious but it only came with two pieces of Pita. For $ 7.95 I would have expected more; despite filling the pitas full of hummus, we still had ½ of it left over. I guess we’ll have hummus sandwiches for lunch tomorrow! The shawrama platter was also OK, but not great. The meat was way overcooked, to the point it was tough. Any further and it would have been charcoal. The veggies were good, though, as was the yogurt sauce(and, of course, the hummus). Rice was cooked properly — done but not mushy. Will we order from them again? Probably. But we’d be more eager to order if the above problems were fixed.

So far I like this place. Have ordered delivery from them twice. Almost all of the food seems to be made from scratch(minus the fries). All of the food was good, and I was genuinely impressed by it. Tried a few meat platters, baba ganoush, and the greek salad. All portions were good sized. The prices are a bit high, but in my opinion, they match the quality of the food. The delivery took about an hour both times, and the food wasn’t as hot as I would have liked. Overall, I like this place and hope that they will continue to uphold the same standards they have so far.

I really wanted hummus which was supposed to be included with the Shish Taouk Platter but wasn’t. I ordered a side salad because the platter should of had grilled vegetables and did not. Kind of disappointing. The chicken was really good but the baklava tasted like it was defrosted.

Like some other reviewers I was given their menu by the hotel front desk. I ordered the Chicken Kabob and Lamb Kabob with rice and had to throw in a salad to meet the delivery minimum of $ 15; no big deal. Somehow the delivery took a little more than an hour on a Tuesday night and the food arrived lukewarm despite the restaurant only being 1.7 miles from my hotel. I’ve had lots of kabob and this was one of the blandest I’ve ever had. I’ll be skipping this place next time I’m in town.

Visiting from out of town and the desk clerk handed us a bunch of delivery menus. As soon as I saw the menu for Asteroids Café, I wanted to order from them. Got the shish taouk for me and a pair of souvlaki pitas for the folks. My shish taouk was delicious. That distinct garlic flavor was there though the meat was a bit on the firm side. I did enjoy the slightly spicy kick to it. Also enjoyed the very flavorful rice pilaf. My folks liked their souvlaki pitas but wished for just a little bit more meat. No complaints for portion size from me, though. Extra points for the friendly person taking my order on the phone and of course for the delivery to our hotel room.

I’ve been to this location a couple times now and have been nothing but pleased with the experience. Their grape leaves are very tasty. they have the right amount of mint taste. Their Chicken Kabobs platter is served with rice, hummus, salad, cucumber sauce and the best baked pita bread i’ve yet to have! The chicken is loverly(perfectly marinated). I also tried the Falafel sandwich, and it was delicious. Definitely a place i recommend to people!

My husband and I come frequently and are always pleased with the service and food. For the money, this Mediterranean food can’t be beat. Try the chicken kabob platter!

I ordered the Vegetarian Delight platter and was told that the menu’s are all wrong and they no longer serve Cauliflower Tagine. Ok, that’s fine. So, instead, I get the baba ghanouj in it’s place, a cold plate. So that’s a primarily cold plate, and some falafel. There is no reason that it should take an hour and a half until I finally call and ask what is going on. I was told that the guy had just left. Then ten minutes later, I get a call from the delivery guy asking if I could just meet him at a place a 20 minute walk away. So, that’s three strikes. I can’t tell you what the food tastes like because I called the restaurant again and simply had to cancel the order. The response was trite, as if this is such an incredibly common and accepted practice. If you want food, order from someplace else. If getting food to you is not their priority, then I’d hate to see what they think when they are actually making the food.

i love their food! and the delivery service is first class, even in bad weather the came to Bethesda with fab pizzas and kabobs. have used them for over 3 years with no problems whatsoever. I give them 5 stars for each time we have used them.

Asteroids is close to my apartment, so my roommate and I order from them when we get a Mediterranean craving — we always seem to forget that the food isn’t actually that good. No more. Today they showed up an hour and a half after I ordered, and when they called me with a question about my order, the woman told me that the time they say they open on their website is actually incorrect [“that’s not when the cook gets here”]. The meal was cold when it finally showed up, and the hummus was so doused with oil that it wasn’t worth eating. If this was a one-time thing, it wouldn’t be a big deal — happens to even good places occasionally — but our experiences with them have been getting worse and worse lately, with forgotten items and long waits. Save your money!

Good food, great for take out and delivery. The shawarma is especially good! We had our order within 20 minutes, and the delivery driver even called us to let us know what time they would be here and to check the address.

Wings are surprisingly good. The chicken souvlaki and gyro are both very good. Love the homemade roll they come on. But the service was not that great twice out of the ten times we have ordered from Asteroids. I was charged twice for a meal and they said they could not credit my mastercard, but instead would give me a store credit. Only I did not get a gift card or confirmation number. It was issued by the manager or the owner and the tracking system was his memory. This made it diffucult to actually use my store credit, but it worked after saying«you remember, I was charged twice 3 weeks ago…» I will order from them again becaues the food is good, but I would not rave about the place and tell people they’ve got to try it.

The food is usually decent but I try to avoid ordering from here. Unfortunately I made the mistake of ordering tonight…1 hour and 40 minutes later and I’m still waiting for my food. Just tried calling and they’re not picking up. Save your money and go elsewhere!

Food is just ok. Have ordered from them twice. Both times they delivered way later than the estimate given. Both times they forgot our desserts. The desserts we paid over $ 10 for. Second time in a row. I called the delivery guy’s cell to say the dessert was forgotten, but he isn’t answering his phone and now it’s going directly into voicemail. Nice.

Nothing special here except the rude service. The tall guy is rude and intimidating, and the short guy will overcharge you. I got the 12 for $ 15 deal on Unilocal.I ordered a shwarma platter and a side of salmon. After the guy rang me up, the total came out higher than I expected. I asked him about it and he insisted that it was correct. He didn’t give me a receipt after I paid, so I asked for one. He only applied $ 14 for the coupon.

I don’t think I will order from here again. I love med and greek cuisine so I thought this would be a great place because it is close to my apartment and the had a vast menu. The online ordering system is great. A little expensive for the quality of the food they are serving. I ordered the chicken souvlaki and the greek salad. The souvlaki was decent. The pita bread did not seem fresh(it was dried out around the edges) and there was liberal amount of chicken. The Tzatziki sauce had a good consistency. The greek salad was alright. There was a lot of filler to the salad. There seemed to be a lot of big pepperes, onion slices, and olives and not a whole lot of lettuece and cucumbers. I would suggest trying out other places first. The delivery was prompt but the delivery guy was running all over the street trying to find the main entrance. The delivery charge is $ 1.50. I do not believe there is a minimum order amount for delivery, but don’t take my word for it.
