Centre Slice Pizzeria of RVC

My wife and I recently went for dinner to Centre Slice pizzeria using a
certificate.This pizzeria is basically takeout with a few chairs and tables. They are not really equipped for diners. We ordered a grandma pie and a order of eggplant with spaghetti. Both were good but the grandma pie was overpriced at 17.00 (it appears discounts are available on some days).Service was OK but our food was served in a takeout tin. Additionally the servers were very confused mixing up our order at times. The price to value ratio is about or slightly below average for this type of restaurant. All in all this was an good experience and I look foreward to returning in the near future.

The best pizzeria ever to leave Rockville Centre was, in my opinion, Sal’s. It was in this same location for years and their round regular pie was five stars, period.
Nothing else in the neighborhood even came close.
Several pizzerias have come and gone here and they’re gone for good reason, they’ve been mediocre at best. Centre slice is a different story. Their standard fare round pie is really good and the Sicilian is excellent. The grandma style is very good but not up to the other two. While I haven’t tried actual meals from Centre Slice, the pizza’s had me coming back again and again. While I can’t say five stars is warranted, any pizzeria that has this pizza snob coming back again and again has to be pretty good.
Also, on Wednesdays for as long as it lasts they offer a special. Any round, Sicilian, or Grandma pie is $ 11.95. Now that’s a deal!

Moved to RVC about 3 years ago and we have been trying all the pizza places around here to find our favorite. We have tried a lot and this place wins hands down.

I recently ordered a pizza and a Caesar salad from Centre Slice based solely on the reviews at Unilocal.It was totally worth it so my husband wanted to try the Chicken Francese. The first time I ordered I requested a menu as they don’t have one posted online. They forgot to send it so when I called the second time I asked if they had the entrée I wanted. The guy who answered the phone said chicken what? hold on. He came back and said they had it. I said great I would like the dinner with spaghetti and a small Caesar salad because the first one was really that good. It’s huge by the way. It had fresh lettuce and cheese, crispy croutons too. Anyway, he took my address and said 20 minutes to a half an hour. I thought that is too quick but ok, may I have a menu please? He said sure.
One hour later I called and said I had placed a delivery order and he gave me a name that was not mine. I said that isn’t me. He asked my name and put me on hold. Someone else got on and asked if they could help me and I reiterated, he too told me to hold but I could hear him and it sounded like the order was just leaving. He said «honey» it’s already out. Now I live 1 mile away. I am not exaggerating, 1 mile. It took another 20 minutes when I received a confused call asking where I lived, that he, the driver, was lost. I asked where he was and he told me the name of the cross street. So am I to understand he couldn’t find my house on the wrong street in the amount of time it would have taken me to walk to the restaurant? Hmmmm, I suppose it’s a good thing he couldn’t find my house on the wrong street as I don’t recall being transported. The delivery man walked up to my house and without a word held out the bag as though he were a pan-​handling mute. He didn’t tell me the cost or ask me to pay.
This was the worst delivery experience I have ever had and I had a Chinese food restaurant forget half my order and blame me for it. The Francese came without pasta, the bread was crumbly and the chicken was too salty.
I am disappointed to say the least because the salad and pizza are so good.
I will give them another chance but if I can’t get my delivery in less than 3 times the promised delivery my family will implode and I won’t order again no matter how good that pizza is.

Apparently under new ownership?!
–Person on the phone needs to brush up on his english skills.
–Same person needs to brush up on his customer service skills (i.e. Don’t hang up on a paying customer mid sentence).
–Only half of the order arrived.
–Salad slice not the same-​decline in quality
I hope this place doesn’t go the way of the other pizza places in town. Very obviously being run by a bunch of incompetent noobs.

Really surprised with tasty crust, nice sauce & delicious slices. Pizza my not be any better in RVC @ surrounding area. Looking forward to trying pastas and other dishes. Parking could be better.

Placed an order for delivery last night and its the first time we tried a place other than Gino’s. The prior reviews were all 5 stars and now we understand why. I was pleased with the ease of placing our order, the gentlemen who answered & seemed very busy, but was super nice and told us 30 minutes for delivery. Our food was in our home in 30 minutes. The pizza was excellent and my salad was huge. I have enough for two more meals. Best part was we spent $ 24 for our dinner, I used to spending $ 22 for a pie only from Gino’s (delivery fee). We have found our new favorite pizza in RVC.

Excellent! Delicious Sicilian… Not too heavy. Side of meatballs. Just like home. Delicious sauce. Ordered two side salads. Both very good. Friendly phone and delivery service.

Very good pizza and reasonably priced. Very friendly environment. It’s more for takeout than a place to sit, but the food is good.

We’ve ordered from here a couple times and every time the food has been exceptional. They have some of the best tasting sauces I’ve ever had. I was very sad to see Sal’s (at the same location) go out of business, but I am even happier that we have Centre Slice. You won’t be disappointed. Also, the staff is very friendly.

I will update this review after I try some of the other offerings on Centre Slice’s menu; but as it stands right now — this may be the greatest slice of Sicilian pizza that I have had in my life. Cheesy and crunchy with an excellent sauce that’s neither too sweet nor too spicy.
I will be returning to Centre Slice soon!

Perfect, perfect for delivery in RVC. Eat-​in is very tiny, so I just get delivery and it’s there in 15 minutes, made fresh.
Every single thing that I’ve ordered has been Quick, Hot, Delicious and Reasonably Priced. And it’s true… they are SO nice when you call to place your order and the delivery boys are polite too. I’ve referred this place to my local friends and everyone remarks on how nice everyone is at Centre Slice. LOL
Pizza: I’ve only ordered the Neopolitan and it’s good (not «omg excellent», but good enough for a hot fresh pie on a cold winter’s nite). They run coupons in the weekly fliers where on Wednesdays you can get a huge, fresh pie for like $ 12. AND delivery is free! I’ve had their creative slices in-​house (chicken & brocc, etc) and that was good too.
Salads: tossed salad with italian dressing is huge and you can split that between two people. It’s fresh, and i’d like to try their other salads as well because i think they’d do a good job of it.
Meatball side: 4 large, tender meatballs in plenty of sauce for just $ 6.50
Baked Pasta: OMG this is soooo good. They don’t skimp out on either the mozz or the ricotta. I’ve had the Baked Penne (instead of ziti they do penne, whatever) and it’s delicious. Even better is their «Sunday Dinner» which is ziti w sweet sausage and mozz baked on top. Deeeeelicious!
Heros: I’ve had the Chicken Parm and it’s so big that I can only eat half (or eat it at lunch and don’t eat for the rest of the night!). They do not skimp on that chicken, cheese or sauce — it’s allll there and it’s so yummy. Eggplant parm is also wonderful and plentiful.
THE VERDICT: Big, tasty portions at an affordable price, FREE delivery with NO minimums, and super polite, fast service consistently. Two thumbs up!
