The food was amazing! I had the tortellini Bolognese and it was great! Me and my friend went at 12:30 so it wasn’t packed at all. The prices were decent as well! Two big entrees for $ 30.00 total?! The waitress was nice. She disappeared for a while once we were ready to pay but I guess that’s because the lunch crowd started to pick up. Great place overall!

My husband and I USED to patron Blue Moon at least twice a month for lunch. When we went for dinner with our daughters we would go to Blue Moon. You might say it WAS our favorite place to dine. The atmosphere was cozy with booths lining the walls. There was Doo Wop and/or Motown music playing softly. I am sad to say that is no longer the case. We went for my birthday just last Friday to find that half the booths were removed. There was no longer any music that I could hear and my meal was well under par. In fact the runners forgot to bring my entrée and 2 side orders of spaghetti. The waiter actually came to our table and asked me where my food was. They charged a small fortune for a Blue Moon beer and sodas. I always order the Melanzane. This time there was little or no eggplant and the panini was awful. Dinner for four which included a $ 12 Caesar salad for 2 was over $ 100. I am remarkably upset and frankly a little angry. Where are we going to dine for a bi-weekly lunches?

Food was excellent only reason did not get 5 stars was because the waitress was not attentive she could of had an off day. Besides that would definitely go back!

Ugh. Delivery is terrible. Anyone who answers the phone couldn’t be bothered. They don’t have a computer system that keeps your info. They are annoyed if you try to order with a card. The chicken parm hero is a joke. Seriously. The bread is soggy and burnt at the same time. One tiny chicken cutlet that is way smaller than the bread. No cheese! You read correctly. No cheese on it. I have ordered it more than once. Two out of the three times I ordered this there was no cheese. It was made differently each time. No consistently. Sometimes it is decent but not ordering here or going here anymore. So many other good Italian places in the area that actually want your business. They are also very over priced. What is with that attitude when you ask for a lunch portion of a pasta? They get nasty and say«it’s the same size!!! Just a different price». Um okay well offer half portions because your prices are ridiculous.

Some of the best authentic Italian food in town! Everything tastes like it’s made from scratch! I always take advantage when they have specials and the coal oven pizza is delicious as well as the homemade Panini’s! Love the separate dining rooms/old school booths and table tops as well as the outdoor seating, the wine selection is outstanding and service is always on point, prices are extremely reasonable with a great atmosphere/clientele that frequents here it’s always a fantastic dining experience here!

Inconsistent and I so wish it wasn’t because when its good, its great. Inconsistent service Inconsistent Food, Excessive Salt and Garlic at times. Very overpriced wine that they pour out of a Glass Gallon Jug, that hurts. Only constant I can say since I’ve been going there and Ive been going since they opened… The manager is in a bad mood, he should NOT be in the Hospitality Business, at least not the Front of the House.

Staff here really really really needs to cut down on the chit-chat with the«bar people». Not sure if the said people were the owners /managers or just some rich mouthy pricks(typical of Rockville Centre)? I really would love Joe Pesci to to get involved in this. LOL. Wait staff: keep your eyes on YOURTABLES even if chit chatting with Diamond Jim Jack-Ass. — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - Food is half of what it used to be only like 5 years ago. Did the original chefs get fired? Pizza is still GOOD though. But like ALL Rockville Centre eateries : you are paying about 30% MORE than you should for what you are eating! — — — — — — — — — — — — — — - P. S. To be fair to the restaurants here — most of you Unilocalers complain about long waits on Fridays and Saturdays. Well what do you EXPECT? Long Island is OVERCROWDED and I’d say about 40% of people in town at that time come here from QUEENS and other towns. Rockville Centre has that«fake sophistication» that people crave. Don’t go out to eat on Fridays and Saturdays.

The atmosphere is really great and it feels like an old school Italian restaurant, down to the brick walls. The place is always busy and the food is always delicious. I have never had a bad meal here. I am a big fan of the lasagna and my wife loves the manicotti. If your in the area, I definitely recommend checking this place out.

So disappointed. Went here for an early dinner. Apparently the servers were not ready in the back so the manager took our order. I ordered shrimp parm when it came out it looked like chicken. I was informed it was veal what I ordered. Nope didn’t order veal. So they were going to fix it. About fifteen minutes goes by no shrimp parm. No manager no apology except from a server. I canceled my order. They took it off the check. Used to love this place. Never going back what a shame.

I also have been coming for a long time, the food is better than your regular Italian joints, but they charge to much for a regular Caesar salad. Love the table bread, but good luck if u order in. They have been getting cheap on all aspects of the business. I hope they wake up soon, or I will go some where else. Not worth the money anymore I will be reading future reviews to see what’s happening.

I’ve been coming here for a long time. Probably about 15 years. And it used to be a notch or two better than most other Italian restaurants in the area. The ravioli with meat sauce was my favorite thing on the menu. I hadn’t been there for a while but then I went there tonight to take my mom out for her birthday. We both ordered the ravioli with meat sauce and we were extremely disappointed. When the food arrived at the table, I thought I had gotten somebody else’s order. It didn’t even look like ravioli and it certainly didn’t look the way it used to. I asked what it was and I was told it was the ravioli. I was a little taken back. The portion had shrunk considerably and what little there was on the plate was basically some cheese loosely wrapped in a lasagna noodle. No seasoning or anything. Not sealed up the was you expect or the way they’d been serving them for the 15 years I’d been going there. And there were only three of these sad«ravioli» on the plate that were sort of disintegrating into a soupy mess. The sauce, which I used to love, tasted VERY watered down and flavorless and even that was barely drizzled over the ravioli. The waitress apparently could tell we were disappointed and asked if everything was ok. I usually don’t make a fuss but felt compelled to tell her the food was terrible. She offered to bring me a side of meatballs or sausage, which was nice, but even the meatballs weren’t as good as they used to be. Overly garlicky and served, again, in a watery flavorless sauce. She said she’d let the manager know we were disappointed but no manager ever came to talk to us. That bothered me a bit. If a long time customer has a bad experience, you’d expect a manager to come out to personally address the customer. Nobody bothered. Basically, the whole experience left us feeling like they had just gotten cheap, lazy or didn’t care. I hope it was just one bad night or the usual chef was on vacation or something. Because if this is how the place is now, I won’t bother going there anymore. I can get better ravioli out of a can. I give one star for the waitress who handled the situation very well, but nothing about my experience tonight deserves a higher rating. I’ll try it again in a few months and post an update but if nothing changes, I think they’ve lost my business. It’s a shame. I was really looking forward to those ravioli.

Visit Date: May 31, 2015 After my sister and I walked about 5 miles and stopped at the same bakery twice, it was still time for lunch because we were hungry and we had a work out walking. We were hoping to go to el mariachi but they were closed when we got off the train so we settled for blue moon. Our experience here was pleasant, we ate outside on the warm day and our waitress was very nice to us. The bread we were served was delicious and the pizza was tasty too. We had eggplant pizza topped with pieces of fried eggplant, tomato sauce with chunks of tomato in it and small pieces of mozzarella cheese placed here and there on the pizza, the crust was thin and my sister and I devoured the pie between the two of us. This place would have had 5 stars but the coffee sucked. My cappuccino tasted like they forgot to add the espresso so basically I felt like I was drinking cinnamon and milk. My sister said her regular cup of coffee was pretty weak too. I would come back and eat here but I would skip on the coffee and opt for a cappuccino across the street from starbucks.

Had plans to go to Pt. Lookout but the parkway was jammed and we ended up here. The place has been here forever but seems to get no play. The pizza is very good. Had the pecan salad. Also very good. Sautéed broccoli very good. Chicken parm very good. Pasta dishes and service not so much. Really do need to tighten up the service. I would definitely recommend coming here to try the pizza.

I have to start off by saying that I’ve lived in NY for 25 years and my mother for 53, and this was the best pizza either of us have ever had. We shared a small pizza half pepperoni and devoured it. This was after sharing the blue moon salad for two which was filled with chopped romaine lettuce, salami, provolone, roasted red peppers, and mushrooms. The salad was delicious and you can tell all the ingredients used in this restaurant are fresh! Also, the garlic knots they start you off with… Yum! I also have to mention that our waitress was such a sweetheart. She was so friendly and accommodating. You MUST try blue moon!

I think three and a half stars is an appropriate rating. For starters, we shared the pecan salad. It was a nicely balanced dish with many contrasts. There was the saltiness of the pecan and the sweetness on the cranberries. The crunchiness of the pecans and the softness of the goat cheese. The bitterness from the vinaigrette and earthiness of the spinach & tomatoes. For the main course, we split the rigatoni alla vodka. The consistency of the rigatoni was great, and the sauce was quite tasteful with fresh basil. Overall, the food was very filling. The service was good. Our waiter, Chris, was very accommodating. I would certainly return… especially for some of the coal oven pizza which I missed out on this trip.

3.5 stars I have not been to Blue Moon in years but it seems like a staple in RVC so my boyfriend and I decided to try it for dinner. We knew we wanted pizza so we didn’t order much else. After being served a hearty bread basket, we had the fried calamari. Unfortunately the calamari was masked by far too much breading and the sauce was so spicy that you could barely taste anything else. The pizza eventually came out(half plain, half pepperoni) and it was huge. It was really good pizza, especially for Long Island. The bottom crust was thin but the end crust was actually pretty fluffy(my favorite part). By the end of the night, we ate only half the pie. We were full and still had plenty leftover. Next time I come I would just stick to the pizza.
