I ate here this summer. The food was excellent, here’s the rundown. After a nice day on the beach, directly across, the street, we needed a refreshing beverage and meal before the ride home. When facing the restaurant, to the left, there is a window to order with a limited menu. To the right is the entrance for the restaurant. It’s small but makes good use of it’s space. There were a lot of locals there, which was a good sign. I ordered a chicken gyro with fries and a ginger iced tea. Both were excellent. It is a family owned restaurant and they take pride in their hand made, from scratch, Rockport fare. They gyro and the sauce tasted very flavorful and authentic. My statement was, no gimmicks-just great food. When I said that aloud in the restaurant, the owner as well as the patrons loved the mantra and repeated it. I can’t wait to go back to Rockport, lay in the sun and eat at Nate’s before my drive back home. They do accommodate large parties, because I heard them state they were setting up for a big group and they were modifying the seating… Definitely go to Nate’s. «No gimmicks, just great food».

Great location across from Front Beach. Had the clam strips with onion rings. Was quite pleased with my selections. Definitely worth the short walk from the beach.

Excellent food with a great view of the ocean. The staff is very friendly. A side tip, there is a parking lot two buildings over and they charge $ 15-$ 20. Park here and walk around Rockport, it beats dropping quarters in the meters.

Food was good but nothing special plus they don’t serve whole lobster. Service was ok but again nothing special. The place has about 15 seat all together and the bathroom was tiny and a little dirty. The thing that bothered me about this place was their cheap nickel and dime business practice. They marked their lobster rolls $ 18.95 then they charged us $ 19.95; it was $ 15 at the Roy Moore(disclaimer: I’ve never been in that place, just saw them walking back to our car). Then for some reason, the Greek lady who may have been the owner/manager added 20% tip and that’s after adding the sales tax to the bill. I mean come on people, there are lots of seafood restaurant around you and dissatisfied customers like myself go on line and write these things about you.

Great little breakfast/lunch place at the shore. Only enough space for about 20 seats, but also has a take out window so you can eat on the beach. Breakfast sandwich and veggie omelette were both light, hot and delicious. Good service and typical area prices.

Service at the window was way too slow. After waiting in the line and finally getting to the counter, I didn’t feel like waiting an additional 15 minutes to place my order. The one girl working carryout also had to package up all the orders, and after waiting 10 minutes for her to do 1 ½ I gave up.

We’ve been coming here for years. This little restaurant has a lovely view and a nice breakfast. Lunch is seaside staples convenient to Front Beach. It used to be a staple for us. Twice during a recent visit our waitress was grumpy and non-attentive … forgetting waters and coffee refills and salad dressing … acting generally annoyed that she was there, etc. Service with a smile goes a long, long way.

I was a little disappointed. The calamari needed seasoning. The folks were friendly, but everything was fried. I might try the breakfast, but I’m doubtful. I’m glad other folks enjoyed their visits.

Good food, I don’t eat seafood so I can’t comment on that. I got a turkey bacon wrap that was delicious, but pricey. They have a take out window so you can take the food and eat on the beach, which was nice. As others have commented, very slow service and they weren’t busy.

We had breakfast here 2 mornings over the very busy 4th of July weekend. They open at 7:30 a.m.and they fill up fast as it seats around 20 or so guests. The waitstaff were friendly and super efficient. Coffee was good. And they had a nice selection of breakfast options. Walking distance from all the shops and where we stayed.

Had a perfect 4th of July lunch at Nate’s today — the food was delicious! Ordered a lobster roll with onion rings(wish I had ordered the clam chowder as well — everyone around me seemed to be enjoying it!). Prices are reasonable and service was prompt. Delicious, fresh seafood with beautiful views of Front Beach. Will return!

We’re from the coast in California and have friends who live in Rockport. We visited 3 years ago and ate Nate’s clam chowder and LOVED it. We’ve tried several clam chowders since but could never find one as good as Nate’s. we just returned for a visit this week and requested right off the bat to go to Nate’s. The clam chowder there is still our favorite! Great service too!

Average breakfast. Service is very slow. They had one waitress on for a Sunday. She was very sweet and got our orders right, but way way too slow for our liking. :(

The onion rings and French fries were perfect. The fried clams were tasty but for one disappointing thing. 90% of them were clam strips. Even the 10% that had bellies were tiny. I found that to be dishonest. We could have paid less by ordering the clam strips. I was hoping for better.

Maybe it was the seaside view and the warm air, maybe it was the fact that I was having a romantic get away, maybe I was just really craving a burger. Eitherway, this was the best burger I ever ate. Traditional Sesame seed bun, fresh lettuce and tomato, old school 1950s ordering window, Nate’s captured my soul the minute I bit into one of their burgers. I am not one for shopping or the beach, but I would return to Rockport MA just to take one more bite of their burgers. If you are in the area, this place is a must!

I love this place. The people are friendly and the food is great. They have occasional Greek food. Try the Pastitsio. Yummy.

We didn’t expect the outstanding breakfast we received at this little place. Their eggs benedict dishes are excellent, as are their other breakfast choices.

Me, my cousin and her daughter visited Rockport yesterday. I saw Nate’s from a distance when we approached Front Beach. At first, we thought it was just a takeout place and almost walked away. I’m glad we proceeded! The outside is deceptive in its size. There is indoor(air-conditioned) seating. My cousin ordered a seafood platter to split with her daughter and I ordered a grilled veggie panini. The panini is made with ciabatta bread and stuffed with delicious FRESH vegetables. It came with a side of fries, onion rings or coleslaw. I chose the fries. They were good. I debated on ordering some more. They enjoyed the seafood platter which had LOTS of food(calamari, HUGE scallops, clams, haddock, I believe, and fries). We also had the fried feta cheese which comes with a side of honey. That was delicious. I love feat cheese and honey. The only thing I wish was different was for the cheese blocks to be fried in smaller pieces because the two blocks became too much(salty tasting) after-while, and I couldn’t finish it. After much conversation, I found out that the person who served us was actually Nate, himself. I was pleased to be able to meet him. He’s very nice, hospitable and a young entrepreneur. I love that! In future trips to Rockport, I will definitely be back.

In the summer or holiday weekend make sure you arrive early for lunch, or you may have a wait. Very limited seating inside. Although we did not do this, would be perfect for ordering to go and eating on the beach. I had the lobster role and found it very good. Just enough mayonnaise, lobster meat very tender and served on a toasted bun. I am a former NE’er now living in VA… Wish I had a Nicks down this way!
