While I’m from MN, I’ve been coming to Rock Springs my whole life to visit family. The Floodzone is one of two local bars in Rock Springs. It got it’s name after a flood in 2008(I think that’s the year) that basically destroyed all of downtown Rock Springs. The bar was rebuilt and rebranded and re-openned better than before. One cool thing here is all of the pictures they have on the way to the restroom of the flood damage, it was pretty bad. It is your typical small town bar, but done well. They have a small grill, on which they make a pretty good burger(I’ve never had anything else). They have a somwhat limited beer selection, but there’s a few good ones beyond the standard Miller/Bud. Coming from the Twin Cities, the drink prices here cannot be beat. They have a couple nice TVs, a pool table, and some video poker type machines. They also do some fun events throughout the summer in the lot/street behind the establishment, like concerts and car shows. When you walk in you instantly realize that most of the people there are locals and regulars and you stick out. Just pull up a stool at the bar and the moment will quickly pass and everyone is very nice.
