a wonderful highlight to the east end, great staff and welcome environment, food and coffee are amazing as well!

Spot Coffee is the place people go downtown if they aren’t at Javas. It typically attracts the working class, looking for a caffeine bump while they check their laptops. The space is nice and open, with a few couches, and little wooden chairs and tables. The upstairs is quieter if you need to get work done. When the weather is nicer, the outdoor seating is limited, but they put a few metal chairs and tables out. Spot brews a few blends a day, and offers lots of espresso options. They get desserts from local places, such as Carrot Cake & Cannoli Cake. As an FYI, Spot is an area that attracts a lot of pan handling, inside and outside of the café. Don’t be surprised if you get hit up for your change.

This place is by far one of the nicest coffee shops I’ve been in. Taking over an old Chevrolet dealership, the open layout has a refreshing feel to other more«cozy» places that can sometimes be stuffy. The artwork scattered about adds to the nice ambiance. As for the refreshments, I went for the caramel macchiato. Thankfully not as sweet as others I’ve had, it packed the same espresso punch I know and love. The oatmeal raisin cookie was good but nothing to write home about. May have been a bit better warmed up. The highlight of the food had to be the smore bar. Something of a rice crispy treat with smore fixings, they opted to use cinnamon toast crunch as the cereal base. Really knocked it out of the park. Overall this once was a fantastic coffee shop. My only criticism was that there wasn’t any mentioned the student discount until I was heading to the bathroom after having already payed. But this is definitely a spot I could spend some days working in.

What a great coffeeshop! It’s very spacious, with a cathedral ceiling, and a nice, interesting, cosmopolitan atmosphere. It has high-glass windows/doors, and interesting artwork. Very nice service. It’s a great place to have coffee /hot drink(s), do some work, etc.

Ok I went out on a limb and ordered the gourmet pizza at s coffee place. I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken pesto pizza was great. Thumbs up. We camped here all day in a business planning session. The staff was great with refills on our coffee. They knew we ordered, so we didn’t have to refetch our mugs. The breakfast sandwich(with sausage) was also too notch. Well done Spot. I’ll be back.

Great drinks and a great location. Head to the heart of the east end and skip the Starbucks or Dunkin for the day. I am not much of a coffee drinker but I could not be happier with the Iced Tea selection– they will brew any tea flavor they have and place over ice so you can have more than the basic black or green ice tea. My favorite is a mint flavor. Spot also has a fantastic breakfast and lunch menu. The panini I ordered was delicious and generous in size(enough to have leftovers for the next day). I also really love the seating areas– there is a good mix of solo space if you head there to do work and collaborative space for meetings or to spend time with friends.

With plenty of cafés in Rochester, Spot sits at the top of the list of notable and worthwhile ones. Good for a bite, meeting up with folks or productive alone time; there’s a good chance that Spot is your spot. Conveniently located in downtown, lots of street parking and large layout. They also have a nice tea election to choose from. I usually go for a chai latte, matcha green tea or the jasmine.

A good place to get work done. No longer my top pick for grabbing a coffee so I’ll usually get a tea or chai if I’m there for meetings or I’ll break out my laptop and have a bite to eat. There’s a ton of space and it’s bright. Good for productivity. Grab the cajun turkey wrap and connect to the wifi. Upstairs seating is my go-to for people watching from above and it’s a little quieter so it’s easier to focus.

The coffee and food here is average, or sometimes below average. However the location is great for meeting friends or coworkers. Also the Décor is not bad. So I visit this place more often that I care to admit. It’s not bad really, it’s OK. Go, grab a beverage, relax, or meet, it’s not bad at all

This is a really great spot to plop down for a few hours to study or get any kind of work done. I also had a latte here that was delicious. The staff is super friendly and helpful. I love that there is an upstairs for seating too that is a little more private.

By far my favorite coffee shop in Rochester. Why? Firstly, it’s huge and has so many tables, couches, and an overflow area upstairs for people to hang out and do work(free wifi too). Secondly, they have a great selection of teas, coffee, drinks, and a pretty interesting food and dessert selection. Desserts are tasty and huge — big fan of the tiramisu cake. Lastly, the staff is super nice and chill. Always happy to make suggestions and remind people to get punch cards! If you haven’t been, you should Deff go and check it out!

In a city jam packed with coffee shops, Spot Coffee reigns supreme. Always filled with people, yet always a place to sit. They have an excellent selection of both dessert items and café favorites. The soup of the day today is Italian Wedding and quite possibly better than the Wegmans recipe. It comes with artisan breadsticks toasted to perfection and topped with the right blend of seasonings. There is usually parking on Mathews St at nights but weekend afternoons can be more difficult. It’s a great place for studying as well, but be sure to bring a pair of earphones!

Spot is a great coffee joint, in a very unique space. The interior is very pretty, it’s an industrial hip kind of vibe. I love, love, LOVE all the windows. The natural light makes this place feel so airy. There’s pretty abundant seating on the first floor(the abundance doesn’t stop it from filling up FAST though) and I just recently discovered that they have an upstairs. Now that I’m privy to it’s existence, I far prefer to sit upstairs than downstairs. You would think it might be louder because the noise echoes from down below, but it’s actually much quieter. Perfect. Spot will book bands some evenings — I’m sure there’s a schedule of sorts somewhere for this. I need to find if, because when there’s a band I avoid it like the plague. Due to the architecture of the building, it gets L-O-U-D when you add instruments to the mix. Loud like, can’t hear the person 2 ft across from you loud. Parking can be tricky, and often times it takes me 5 — 10 minutes to find a spot, OR I just park 5 minutes away and walk. Spot has some of the best iced coffee and teas that I have had anywhere. I used to live around the corner and survived on their iced coffee in the summer. So delicious. They also have an array of ‘creams’ for folks who don’t want the cow stuff — coconut milk, soy milk, etc. The coffee and tea prices are about on par with what starbucks charges, and it’s better coffee! Oh, and the Chai Latté, SO good. I’ve never beeb blown away with their savory items — sandwiches, pizzas, that type of thing. I haven’t given them a second chance in a while though. Seems like a lot of other people like them. Their desserts are pretty good! Occasionally one will be a little dried out from sitting in the case, but that’s only happened once or twice. A solid coffee shop that’s great for hanging out with friends, a date, or casual business type things. I do a lot of consultations here! Go! Enjoy! Bring a laptop or a friend!(Depending on how social you’re feeling)

This is my favorite place to camp out with my laptop and do work. It’s bright and open and has an array of options for breakfast, lunch or dinner. I love chatting with the baristas there and fact that I can walk down the street for tasty beer at Victoire after a productive stint at Spot. Their wifi is slow and spotty, but that’s a plus in my book as it discourages me from surfing the web and focuses me on the work at hand.

Good coffee. Strong coffee. Also yummy snacks. And the pizzas are pretty good, which was a surprise at a coffee shop. Little known meeting room upstairs in back is great for study groups or informal meetings. I think they reserve it sometimes?

Spot is a very interesting place in a great old building. They have the usual coffee shop fare along with some pretty solid food options(which are a little pricey). I am a vanilla chai person and theirs is slightly above average(many better options around the city). However this is a big open space and you almost always can find room to sit down. The wifi is decent. The upstairs is usually pretty quiet if you are trying to study. One thing to be wary of is during the winter months(and other cold days) sitting down in the main area can be quite cold as the door opens every minute or two with someone coming or going and often gets held open long enough to give you a good solid artic blast of air.

Great coffee and cakes. I have never tried any food here besides the cake. The atmosphere is what makes this place unique. You can come here and study or have a casual meet up. The workers are super friendly. I have somehow gotten free coffee and cake from the workers. No complaints there. They also make the perfect lattes.

A cute little«spot» in Rochester! While I don’t live downtown anymore, Spot isn’t super convenient, and I tend to forget about it. I needed to get some work done last night and didn’t feel like heading home yet, so I found myself at spot remembering how open and airy the café is. There is plenty of seating, although you are looking at more bar-type seating and hard tables and chairs. There are a few comfy sofas, but good luck getting a spot on one of those! I usually like to grab a spot outside at one of tables — great for people watching along East Avenue. I’ve never had any of the sandwiches here, but I love their selection of teas: nice and strong and a great variety. My favorite is the green matcha with some soy milk. They also make a good chai and café Americano. The pastries can be hit or miss; I prefer the ones at Java’s over the sweet treats at Spot. The crowd is eclectic — a mix of college students, young and more mature professionals. They are open late, but the one small grip I have is that I was sitting outside, and they were basically closing up around people starting at 10:30pm. I get that you want to go home, but it’s poor service in my opinion to come over and tell me that you are closing and you are going to break down my table at 10:40! I suppose I expect you to do that type of cleaning once the café is closed. Other than that, the baristas are very friendly, and it’s a great open spot to relax with a caffeinated beverage in the city!
