I love stopping here for breakfast before class. If you’re from the UofR living across the river then I suggest you stop by. Their coffee is just as good as Starbucks without the 27 minute wait! The coffee shop itself has a great atmosphere and it’s relatively quiet which makes it a perfect place to study or have meetings.

Brue is the old Boulder Coffee. Their menu has obviously changed, but they offer the typical coffee shop staples. The décor is basically the same as it was with a few added coffee shop tables. The absolute best thing that I can say about Brue is that it offers a great alternative to the often overcrowded libraries on U of R’s campus. The customer service here is ridiculously inconsistent. We encountered one employee, who clearly didn’t want to be bothered with taking our order. When we inquired about the menu options he reluctantly explained the options available. During that visit, we also split a cupcake which was served on a napkin. I guess plates are a rarity here. The cupcake itself was standard, store bought, nothing special. On another occasion we were assisted by a nice young lady who was very kind and attentive and so the inconsistency became evident. Unfortunately, there’s nothing particularly outstanding about Brue and I’m guessing that with the development of nearby College Town that Brue is going to have a serious battle on their hands.

Stopped in for a quick coffee. I wanted this place to be great but the coffee was just ok and the service was slow. There are too many good coffee spots in the ROC for this place to be just ok. If you are in the area, head a few blocks away to College Town. There is a Starbucks, a Dunkin, and a Saxby’s. Or, head next door and get a bubble tea!

Went here today to purchase a chai tea-nothing too crazy. There were about 4 people in the whole shop. I could see out of the corner of my eye that the barista/worker was making a sandwich for someone out of the corner of my eye. I was standing at the front for about ten minutes in total without the worker even coming to the front of the store. I was not even acknowledged! I understand if you only have one barista/worker on at a time, however, that person should not be oblivious to what is happening in the front of the house while tending to other things. If he had even acknowledged that I was there and let me know that he would be a few minutes, I would have understood, but to stand in line for ten whole minutes without someone coming to the front of the shop! That’s crazy. What if there had been a line of five people? I went once before and although I was helped promptly by a woman, she was not very friendly. Seems as though this coffee shop needs to work on their customer service big time.

This place is a great place to study and it’s located just a little bit aways from school. It’s quaint and the staff is friendly– basically covers what I want for a place to read my notes.
