Can’t say enough about the staff. Rivers was extremely helpful in understanding what I was looking for and suggesting the right bike. Tough thing ordering a new bike sight unseen… In the shop, Chris is great and eager to help.

BUYERBEWARE !! Last spring I asked my wife to take our lightly used 20yr old mountain bikes to the bike shop for a tune up. They have been hanging in our garage, waiting patiently for us to finish growing our kids.(Not an acceptable excuse!). But it was now time to start riding again, and the long weekend was the perfect time to start. My gear selectors were so gummed up I could only get about 3 gears. The dry rotted tires also needed to be replaced and they could use an over all tune up.(these bikes are nearly brand new, hers w/less than 50 miles, and mine maybe 500) Thursday before the holiday weekend she picks up our bikes. They replaced the gear selectors, inflated the tires and sent them home. Mine still with 15 year old mud. 200 $ later! Kinda leads me to believe they did not even break open the headset or bottom bracket to check the lube, however only my suspicion. Tires were inflated, but you could see the threads through the cracks in the rubber. I tried to ride mine, and my new gear selectors would only grant me partial control over my gears, barely more than I had before. Needless to say, we missed our ride over the long weekend. Thanks a lot! Return visit. My wife returns the bikes, explaining«I am not happy.» The following week now with new tires. An additional 100 $ the bikes are road worthy. Or so we thought! We hit the trail, I am now up to 11 of 21 gears, ride couple of miles from the house, make the turn to head back when my chain snaps! STRANDED&UPSET!!! Head to the bike shop in pontiac for a new chain. The tech asks«…who the hell set your gear selectors? …they sure did not know what they are doing. If you would like, for 15 $ each selector… «. (60 $ for both bikes! WTF!). Honestly, I have been in this place only a couple of times over the years, no inventory, high margin, and now very poor repair work. The competition should have gobbled them up years ago. 1 star is generous.

I bought my first mountain bike at KLM in Rochester years ago when I new absolutely nothing about it. The staff helped me a great deal, sold me an affordable, high quality bike, without going overboard on accessories. This year I had my bike tuned up at a very reasonable price and purchased a bike rack for my car. The staff helped me select the perfect rack and price matched an online retailer. Always friendly and always a good experience. The only drawback is that they are a somewhat smaller size shop so they don’t carry a ton of accessories, but they are always willing to order what I need.

Never again. Never, ever, again. I’ve taken three bikes here and paid for a tune up. I’m not actually sure they did anything. The first two bikes were from 1970-something and all we asked is that they shift properly and brake properly. They did, for about a tenth of a mile. One bike is stuck in third gear and the other howls when you brake. I chocked this up to them being 40+ years old. The last bike I took to KLM was newer but not a fancy bike at all. Some cheap-o Walmart type bike. I was quoted«About a week to a week and a half.» by the sales rep. I waited a full two weeks before I called asking about it figuring they were busy. I was told over the phone it would be ready the next day. Sweet! I can’t wait to get out and ride. Guess what? I went up there to pick it up and it wasn’t ready. I was okay with that. I was told again it would be ready the next day. I didn’t get a phone call that it was ready so I headed up there to get my bike that had been promised to be three different times. You guessed it, it wasn’t ready. At this point I’m pissed. I tell them to just give me my damn bike and I’ll take it somewhere that values their customers and doesn’t straight up lie to me over and over. They then promised it would be ready within an hour. So you’re telling me you’ve had my bike for nearly three weeks and the work is going to take less than one hour?! Holy hell! I drive back there when I got the call to pick up my bike. I asked if the brakes had been fixed and if it shifted properly. They said everything was in tip top shape and straightened my rims for free for the trouble. That would have been awesome if that is what actually happened. I take it out for a ride right when I get home. The rear brake is useless and it won’t shift at all. WHATTHEHELLDIDTHEYACTUALLYDO!!! I called and pitched a bitch and I was basically treated like some pain in the ass customer though they did offer to fix it. I didn’t bother because if they«fixed» it the way the did before I would be writing this from a cell awaiting trial for assault Stay away from KLM.

Walked in, nobody bothered to say hello or ask if I needed any help. Walked out and bought my bike somewhere else.

I am fairly new to the whole biking world. The staff here at KLM was beyond helpful and informative, giving me all of the information I needed and then some. The no pressure atmosphere and free maintenance for a year makes this the best bike shop in metro Detroit. I ended up getting a hybrid bike and love it! Thanks KLM I look forward to doing business with you again real soon!

Convenient place to go and get tubes and things I need for my Trek bike. They aren’t the most knowledgable staff in town but they have the basics and some great bikes. If you need a lot of assistance, maybe try another bike store. If you’re good to go; this is a good stop off spot for quick pick ups.
