I order from tendo sushi about once a week. I’ve ordered from here for the past six months. I always skeptical about trying out a new sushi place, but this place has been consistently fresh every time. I’ve never had a questionable roll. They are reasonably priced, have great lunch specials, and the salmon teriyaki is wonderful. I usually get the boston and eel avocado rolls. Never a problem. Delivery is almost always early to on time. Occasionally delivery is late, but, sometimes there is traffic. Life happens. But they are a reliable and fresh go to.

Their food is good but the service is pretty bad. If you get a delivery expect to wait an hour+, even if you choose to stay you’ll be waiting way longer then you should for your food which is pretty annoying. The only reason I continue to come here is for the hibachi.

While Tendo is known for the sushi I am actually not much of a sushi fan. I had the shrimp teriyaki and was pleasantly surprised on how good it tasted! This meal came with soup and rice which in the end was very filling. I’m looking to go back and try some of other options with a sushi lover to get the full experience.

Small place but great food and very warm service, I will be back for sure, my tuna tartare was delightful, so the spider roll, the rest was great too and very well spiced, great job!

I had been roaming all around the city and it was 9:30pm. I hadn’t eaten dinner yet, and I was starving. Tendo Sushi is a casual sushi restaurant in Ridgewood. The décor is sparse and the furniture is old. I came by Tendo Sushi to make a quick pick-up of a vegetarian roll and edamame, and it took longer than 20 minutes. I was annoyed when my food arrived because of the wait, but when I ate my dinner, it was pretty tasty. I think they had just forgotten my order, because there were take-away bags zipping out of the restaurant the entire time I was there.

I am a loyal customer to Tendo Sushi despite their intense lack of customer service. On more than one occasion the SAME delivery man has screamed at me, basically tossed my food order at me, and been insanely rude. Today was the last straw — he hung up the phone on me after waiting a mere 5 minutes. When I called the restaurant, the woman on the phone sided with him, claiming«we were waiting and waiting». Oh, I’m sorry — am I not allowed to pee for 30 seconds while you stand outside? I wasn’t aware that being a customer meant having to race to get the food I paid for. I will not order from Tendo Sushi again. They hire assholes and they don’t support their customers.

I order from Tendo at least once a week; they’re a regular part of my diet lol. never had any problems with staff or delivery guy and food always make it here before the time posted, still hot. Katsu is flavorful and yummy as hell, and they made me realize I really, really like daikon radishes. I’m committed to try everything on the menu at least once. thank you so much for your inexpensive yummy food!

Never again!!! Over priced, not fresh! I ordered the fried calamari, I’ve had onion rings that taste better! They were so over cooked that I had a hard time bitting them– chewing gum would have been better to eat. Small quantity for the price — again, NEVERAGAIN

It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great. I’ve definitely had better. I also felt like they sushi rolls were very small!

Servie wasn’t fantastic(didn’t repeat my order over the phone, was quite brusque in person), but they made our food quickly and I had no real complaints. The sushi is relatively inexpensive and pretty delicious. Overall a good spot if you’re not too picky and in the nieghborhood.

I have ordered sushi & salad here countless times. Food is great but the service from my last order was terrible. I accidently put down the wrong address for delivery since I was at my bfs house. I realized too late & the delivery man was at my place. I wasn’t too far & the delivery man bugged out. He reacted like a child screaming & yelling through the man, he was so angry I apologized for the inconvenience & he still had a problem with me. I’m the type of person that is very considerate of everybody’s jobs & lives, I had no ill intention to make him feel that way & yet he was still rude after apologizing. I was close to not giving him a tip because I had to wait longer half hour for my food, most likely to get back at me. I will no longer order from here again. He was an asshole. It’s his job &if he doesn’t like doing deliveries then don’t do them.

The jungle roll was really good but it’s soooooo tiny!!! I don’t really think it’s worth 10.75.

Lucky i can’t give them zero starz. I called to ask a question about a item on the menu and the girl on the phone said to me are you gonna order cause im eating now, so call me back! How rude and unprofessional. Not a polite way to talk to a costumer. Never in my life i had a experience like this. I will never order from this place again.

The only place I order sushi from in the neighborhood. I tried most of their rolls and I recommend them. I wish they have the sushi roll deals all day long. I used to order the bento boxes but got overwhelmed by all the food it came with. Tip: order online or call and pick up the food to avoid the long wait. I’ve ordered take out in the restaurant a few times and I waited at least 30 mins each time

I just recieved my order off of Seamless. Pros:-came in about 30 minutes. Less than expected! –Ramen had good flavor. –Wasabi seemed fresh –The spicy tuna had very nice flavor. Good amount of tuna in the roll Cons: –There was next to no shrimp in my Boston roll. Like, all lettuce and cucumber basically. If I wanted a vegi roll I’d have ordered one. — Meat in the ramen was very dry. –Ramen noodles didn’t travel well. –Rolls are also pretty small. Overall I would order again. However, I’d probably pay the extra for one of their special rolls. The menu had a lot of variety. It seems the basic rolls are small.

The past couple of times we’ve ordered had been an exercise in patience. You know how they say that a virtue never tested is no virtue at all? Well, get ready for an exam. Nearly three hours on a normal, dry autumn evening, despite an estimate on Seamless of 30 to 45 minutes. Sure, everyone can run into delivery issues once in a while, but three hours?! Tonight, it’s already been more than two hours, closer to our bedtime than our dinnertime, and we’re filling up on pretzels in the meantime. So much for a nice cozy meal at home! When I called to inquire about our order, the woman who answered the phone was very apologetic and offered us 15 percent off. I do appreciate it, but I think we’ll only stop by in person as opposed to ordering delivery.

It was a lonely sunday night where i was so hungry that i was ready to eat a horse. Im a sushi fanatic i could literally gobble up four rolls by myself. A big deal for me when it comes to sushi places is to find a place that has not raw rolls but actually cooked ones too aside from just seafood alone, there is just some days where id rather have veggies or chicken instead or anything fishy. Using grubhub i ordered a veggie tempura roll a chicken tempura roll along with a sweet potato roll and a crispy duck roll as an appetizer along with spicy mayo for seventy five cents extra(some places charge over a dollar). Each roll here costs above standard but you really do get what u pay for, the plain veggie rolls are 2.50 but the tempura rolls are 4.50 and up(duck roll appetizer was 6). The order itself took forever they promised 30 Mins and it ended up being an hour. But when it finally came i ordered an order of perfection. What i love the most is that these rolls didnt fall apart no matter how much chicken or veggies were in it and they didnt arrive cold which is a big plus. Also the tempura rolls werent over fried or too oily and very crispy it was perfect and the duck roll had a lot of good flavor without feeling too heavy or fatty. Also the rice was done well so thats why the rolls must of been consistent. Despite this place being a bit pricier then usual you get what you pay for

I’m so mad at myself for not trying this place out sooner. I’ve been going to the pan-Asian spot down the block for my sushi and they’re not that great. I wasn’t really that hungry, but I was out so I thought I’d grab a bite before heading home. I started with a salmon tartare and that was delish! I ordered my faves in nigiri and I have no complaints! All was fresh and beautifully prepared. I almost got me some Uni, but they didn’t feel it was at its peak of freshness, so they didn’t want to serve it to me. Well, maybe next time. Yeah, there will be a next time.
