The food always comes cold, and some dishes are kind of bland. I feel like the prices of their desserts keep increasing, while the portions get smaller(that’s if they remember to include it) Not cool!

THE best Italian food in Ridgewood. The staff is friendly and courteous, they make you feel like family as soon as you walk in the door. From the stuffed mushrooms to the Seafood Lucia and the homemade desserts, every thing is awesome.

Enjoyed Sunday lunch. Not overly crowded but it was a small neighborhood restaurant so the one loud family in the room entertained(not so much) everyone else. Did you know very few Americans can actually speak English??? Anyway, the food was great. Warm bread with oil brought out with drinks. I started with the Pasta Fagoli Soup… very fresh and generous portion. Followed that with the house salad which was again fresh and colorful served with tangy Balsamic vinaigrette on the side. Completed the meal with Chicken Parmesan which had a very smooth sauce with the perfect tang to it. With the large portions I took home lunch for Monday. Worth the time to seek this one out.

Took my mother and sister to dinner… the staff was very friendly, the food and wine was delicious, I had the Frank Sinatra pasta and they had lasagna… everything was cooked perfectly. Good place to get some good italian food. they also have whole wheat pasta options. and fixed lunch and dinner packages… very nice experience overall… I didn’t give bit 5 stars, because the décor of the place is a bit bland for an italian place. but who really cares what your sitting on when the food is that good.

I just went with my husband for dinner. We had a Groupon that I paid $ 15 for $ 30 worth of food. We showed up, Saturday night, place was clean, almost full. The waiter was very nice, sat us down almost immediately. I present to her my coupon on my phone, she politely explained that in the future we should call for reservation ahead of time when we use groupon. Then they gave us bread, no butter. We ordered the meat lasagna with salad and chicken marsala with salad. The salad was ok, the lasagna was good, good portion as well, the chicken marsala was a bit salty, the server brought the main course *chicken marsala alone, no side… I asked if it come with a side and the waiter explained that the salad that comes with the meal was given to me as an appetizer not with the main meal, i asked if I can have steamed broccoli, they took so long with the order that I ended up eating the chicken alone, when the broccoli finally arrived I had already finished so I took it to go. So this is how I review this place: Place is small– 2 stars Décor is boring not inviting– 2: stars Food– 2 ½stars Service took long-2 stars Customer service– 3 stars prices are a bit overpriced– 2 stars Would I go to this place again? Certainly NOT Iim just glad bi didn’t pay full price for the meal, they definitely need to invite Chef Ramsey so he can turn this place into a fine Italian Restaurant. This place needs improvement, if you are looking for a mediocre Italian restaurant this is the place.

So I put up a negative Unilocal review after a bad to-go food experience and the owner called me the NEXT day following up on every detail I’d written about and not only offered a full refund but ended up spotting my entire meal after she encouraged me to give the place a chance in person with the full dining experience. I went with a date and I’m so glad I did because it was amazing!!! Down to every detail– even the herb mixture in the house olive oil is fantastic. The veal is incredible, the caprese is so fresh, and the stuffed mushrooms are unlike anything I’ve had in Queens or Brooklyn. My to-go experience may have been a one time fluke but I encourage anyone to check this place out because the food is amazing and the owner genuinely cares about everyone who sits down in her restaurant and treats them like they’re sitting in her living room.

After shopping across the street in R & M Boutique we saw this place and decided to give it a try. We were so happy we did. The unexpected turned into a great surprise. Bella Lenas is small but their flavors are big. Service was excellent and so was everything we ate. For starters we had the coconut shrimp which were tender and sweet and the eggplant rollatini. Hands down it was the best rollatini we ever had. The ricotta filling was cheesy and the sauce it was cooked in was delicious. For main course we had the homemade black linguini with fresh lobster. Amazing is all we could say. We have been to few other Ridgewood Italian spots and this by far is the best around. Although it was early in the day the place was pretty busy so I would think reservations for dinner.

My official go-to Italian delivery place. I love the gnocchi and the caesar salad here, the gnocchi portion is massive and easily big enough to split between two people. I love how cheesy it is too, they’re not just swimming around in tomato sauce. A bit pricey(like most Italian places) but delicious!

Ordered from here through GrubHub. Delivery took over an hour and a half for two simple dishes. Spaghetti Carbonara was very very greasy but delicious. My Chicken Parmigiana sandwich arrived soggy and wet. It lacked salt. Portions are big but so are their prices.

This past weekend, I had a death in the family, and with the influx of relatives coming through my relatives house during the wake, the first round of food sent to us from Pizza Classica went very quickly. For the second day, we called Bella Lena’s to coordinate a delivery and save some time, and we were very happy with the food and the service. The order arrived as planned when we got back from the funeral parlor. We received trays of their green salad, Chicken Scarpariello, and Floretti Boscaiola. It was a great survey of their offerings, and among the three everyone managed to find something they could enjoy. We picked the place over PC again for the sake of variety, and I’d say their entrées are definitely in the same league. I don’t often find myself this far along Metropolitan Ave, but I’d venture out again for the food.

Came to this cozy place this evening and had a great time. We were here in the past but the place has been redone and looks great. Warm welcoming service and excellent food. My recommendations are the black linguini with fresh seafood and the homemade banana cream pie. Both are excellent.

Best Italian in the area… nice little spot the owners and wait staff are very nice… always fresh and I have never had a bad meal from here. Great desserts too I think they are made by the owners mother or something.

I hate giving this local spot a medium review. I ordered the lasagne from here, and it just wasn’t what I had hoped for when having a savory meal. The lasagne was quite a bit dry, but there sure was plenty of it! This may be a bit unfair, as the italian cuisine traditions where I come from(northern Europe) is what I compare this to. Lasagne there is usually creamy with the bechamel sauce, and with a strong meaty ragu all combined with the lasagne plates. This version was more a marinara and dry cheese version. What’s the authentic version? I have spent too little time in Italy to know, but I sure know which one I prefer. Great service though, and I may update this review once I try another one of their dishes — because this spot simply deserves a 2nd chance!

Celebrated younger brother’s 50th birthday, started with hot antipasto and fried calamari. He sailed away with a Seafood Lucia Entrée and I with Baby Lamb Chops. Vino espresso and dessert made for a memorable evening. The service was excellent too!

Have ordered delivery several times from them and it has always been pretty on point. The food has been delicious, the pasta tastes truly homemade, and the entrees are enough to split between the lady and I. Between one of those and a salad, it’s plenty to go around. Only gripe is the delivery minimum + delivery fee(through Eat24), but we’ll probably order it again tonight because it’s been that enjoyable.

Went there for my daughter’s birthday. Had mozzarella sticks… mozzarella caprese and mozzarella in carozza. All were incredibly delicious. House salad and Caesar salad were awesome too. I got linguine carbonara… was the best I ever had. Their wines were really tasty as well. My daughter got chicken franchise… ate the whole thing, which is a miracle. We were happily stuffed and had no room for dessert. Next time we’ll have less appetizers so we can have dessert

I was thrilled to see that such a highly rated Italian restaurant was willing to deliver to me through Grubhub. Me and my roommate had to pay a $ 4 delivery fee because we’re so far, but it’s nice to know that we have options in the area, because prior to finding Bella Lena’s we just didn’t. The food came quicker than Grubhub estimated it would, and it was piping hot despite how far we were. I ordered the pumpkin, marscarpone and sage ravioli with shallots and mushrooms in a brandy cream sauce. My mouth was watering just from reading the description. It was very rich(in a good way) and while it was the highlight of our dinner, it didn’t really wow me the way I was expecting. I tried my roommates Cappellini Primavera. The vegetables were cooked nicely, but Cappellini is a very thin pasta and I wish it had been cooked al dente. I don’t mind slightly over-cooked pasta, but this was mushy. The pink sauce it came in was slightly creamy, and they put just enough of it that with the super soft pasta, the consistency of the dish was sort of paste like. The sauce itself was on the bland side. The meatballs were really disappointing. I don’t know if they use a pork/beef mixture, because this tasted like completely unseasoned ground beef rolled into a ball. There were no onions, no herbs, no nothing in these babies. The sauce they were was similarly bland. I took one bite and put them aside. I would be willing to try different dishes from them in the future, but probably not for a little while. I have noticed some other reviewers commenting on the lack of seasoning and flavor in their dishes, so I would probably gravitate towards things that are more complex to begin with, like the pumpkin ravioli, as opposed to a simple tomato sauce.

Service was not that great. The décor is drab. I found the food pretty salty. Prettt bland. Just not inviting. its predecessor Aunt Bellas was far superior in every way.
