Sticks Kebob Shop

Went to Sticks for the first time yesterday. Quick order at counter and they call your number service. Not fast food quick, but quick and takes long enough for you to know they are preparing your food as you order it. I had a platter with a chicken kabob, rice, flatbread and hummus. Really good, fresh food. The cucumber yogurt dressing was very good. I will try the Sesame Lemon next time. Can’t wait to go back and try something else!

Fantastic lunch spot. I had the salad with a chicken and a lamb kabob. The hummus was fresh and spiced perfectly. Quick check friendly service. Everything tastes fresh and healthy. Will be back.

Scrumptious! The sauces are delicious (especially the creamy lime-​cilantro one) and the wraps are perfectly filling (and reasonably priced may I add). There’s a variety of drink options and there’s honestly something FOR EVERYONE on the menu. Seriously. Even the picky ones (we ALL know at least one) can get their bellies filled.
When I come back I’m really looking forward to trying their desserts! They have a nice selection of those too.

So I guess I am a fan of Mediterranean food as of lately. I haven’t been to Sticks in about four years, if not longer so I wanted to come back and check them out. I wanted fast food but something healthy and different from my usual choices.
I got the two kebob platter which comes with one side, basmati rice and grilled flatbread. I chose the lemon garlic shrimp and the rosemary lamb as my kebobs which were both additional charges for «premium» kebobs. The service was quick and friendly at the register. After you order, you wait and they call your number to pick up your order but at some tables I did see them bring out your order.
My food came out in less than ten minutes and was a good amount of food for one person, possibly shareable. If there’s one thing you need to know about me, I am not a fan of hummus but their hummus here was super fresh and delicious and was a generous helping. For my sauces I got the red pepper and cilantro lime; they were both creamy and tasty. I think the star of my dish were both the shrimp and lamb kebobs. The cook on both proteins was perfection and still retaining their natural juices, I would recommend getting them both.
I didn’t see any service as far as cleaning the tables as mine was a little bit dirtier than I would have liked but I cleaned it off myself. Plenty of seating options for the lunch crowd and the bathrooms were clean. I think the only downside was the price tag because my meal came out to about $ 16 and I didn’t get a drink either.
SN: I was watching the dinner crowd roll in and the line was very long but still only one register was open so not sure if they were short staffed or not but expect a wait during peak times

In the area for lunch and wanted something different. Spotted this place and glad i stopped. Not only was my meal healthy (trying to change my eating habits) it was absolutely delicious. I had the chicken kebob salad with feta, onions, black olives, and red pepper dressing. It was light, yet filling. Pretty big salad too (see pic).
Will definitely return!

Love Sticks. I go here about once a week and I have never had a bad experience. Get the cilantro lime sauce.

Sticks is near my office and among scores of restaurants in this part of Richmond, which makes lunch competition pretty fierce. After tiring of my mid-​day meal rotation, I stopped by Sticks to test the waters. Once I checked in, I realized I’d been here before a couple years ago but must not have been too impressed at the time. They’ve obviously improved since then because my lunch was terrific and the friendly service was memorable!
I ordered a pork kebab platter with an extra stick of beef. I wasn’t sure how much meat was on each kebab but it turned out that one might have been enough for lunch. When combined with the rice, a side and pita bread, it’s a good-​sized portion. I do wish they included more than two small wedges of pita though. I ran out of pita before I’d started my second kebab. I guess they sell it on the side but it seems they might include more than 2 for the $ 10.50. Beyond my pita rant, the lunch was delicious! The meet had a great grilled flavor and was well-​cooked. The rice was fluffy and my side of roasted eggplant salad (baba ghanoush) had good flavor.
Overall, it was a good meal and experience. I will return.

My hubby and I are wanted to try something different. I thought this would be much healthier than going to THE COOKOUT. I wasnt very hungry, so he ordered the kids meal. He said that the chicken kabob was dry and needed a bit more seasoning. We poured raspberry vinagrette on the chicken and rice. Made it a bit more palatable. Not terrible. We’ve had worse. But we’re not sure whether we would go back. Too many other restaurants we’d like to try.

I had heard a lot of great reviews by a couple of friends of mine regarding Sticks, since they were at the Graze on Grace last year. I decided to try out their Willow Lawn location, as it was closest to me at the time. Impressed is an understatement!
I absolutely love Mediterranean food and I find it difficult to find a really good place that serves this cuisine but these guys know what they are doing. All of the food is super fresh, including their sauces, and all the dishes are very healthy. I love the steak or lamb kebabs with their cucumber and tomato salad side and their cucumber sauce. It is always so fresh. I always feel a lot healthier choosing the platters (which comes with rice and a small salad on the side) or a salad itself as opposed to a wrapped version with the Pita bread. As someone who has allergies to bread, it is easy to make an adjustment to suit my dietary needs. They also have a kids meal and juice, milk and organic options for children to enjoy as well. So, this place is very family friendly.
I was not only impressed with the food, but the over-​the-​top service as well. Each of the past 3 times I have ventured in for dinner, I have always been treated well. And, on the two occasions i have dined in, i have had staff ask if i enjoy everything and if i need anything else.
The first time I went in I had heard they have an email program where if you sign up they will periodically send you coupons and alert you to new choices on their menu. I had totally forgotten my first adventure into the Willow Lawn location I had signed up to receive their emails. That is, until I received my first coupon in the mail, less than 2 weeks later. This month I received my birthday coupon and used that for a discounted meal for dinner. With each visit, I am more and more impressed with their service and food.

This is a great quick and healthy place for Mediterranean inspired food. I especially like the shrimp, kibbeh and chicken kebabs and the green bean side. Super casual atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff.
Though I absolutely believe Sticks deserves 5 stars I have only one complaint: the (free) side salad that comes w platters. The lettuce reminds me of the toppings at Taco Bell and it’s especially odd bc all the other produce here is fresh and flavorful.

Sticks has always been one of my favorite fast food places. They are reasonably priced for fast and super fresh food.
I typically get the kibbeh kebab platter and eggplant salad. I love dipping the lamb into the eggplant, it makes for a fantastic sauce. The four sauces they offer are all fantastic, with the cilantro one being my favorite. The rice is perfectly steamed and the salad is always a nice light accompaniment for whatever you order.

Sticks is a great place for a delicious, inspired, healthy, quick meal. Don’t waste your time with fast food! I love their wrap sandwiches & platters, their meats are high quality, and everything is so fresh! Just writing about it makes me want to go get some more…

This is my first time at Sticks. I found it because they were participating in RVA Sandwich Week with pork sorloin with african spices, tabouleh, lettuce, tomatoes and a cilantro lime sauce (i declined the feta). The sandwich was incredible; perfectly seasoned, juicy pork, fresh vegetables and the flatbread was so fluffy!
I brought my family so I was able to see many other menu items, including the kibbeh salad, the beef platter, and the kids chicken. Everyone loved the creamy cilantro lime sauce and the customer service was excellent.
The only thing keeping me from giving them 5 stars was the kids chicken was extra charred, which is unacceptable for most children.
Overall great staff, excellent food, easy to find location, and the price is definitely right.

Good service and great concept. Lamb kabobs are the best. Would give 5 stars if they used better quality rice. I wish they had a location on the southside of richmond.

Went for the 1^st time Saturday & it was soon delicious! Went back yesterday & im going again today. It’s fresh & also healthy & delicious!!!

This is our favorite neighborhood restaurant. Great value and Great food. Love the beef platter with Cilantro Lime sauce ang OMG the BEST Hummus as my side… YUM.

We visited Sticks tonight since I really enjoy the steak and leg of lamb kabob salad and am rarely in this part of town. Jesse and Erica were trying Sticks for the first time and said they enjoyed it. The salad was crisp and refreshing. We split the salad since this was second dinner. It was plenty of food. I have gotten the pita sandwich before and felt hungry. I needed more. I recommend going with the salad, its a good value. I love lamb but at Sticks the steak flavor is more appetizing to me. I love eating here and give it 4.5 stars…

I used to eat at the one in Charlottesville all the time when I lived there. So I am slightly embarrassed it has taken me nearly 2 years to discover Sticks has a Richmond location that is about ½ way between my home and office.
Who doesn’t like food on a stick? Here you can get it served as a sandwich (pita), over a salad or as a platter with 2 sides (basmati rice and your choice of something else).
My favorite kebab is a tie between the falafel and kibbeh. You also get your choice of a number of yummy sauces to accompany your kebab. I like the cilantro lime but switch it up from time to time as well.
I usually get the platter with hummus as my side (I love their hummus). My only wish is that Sticks would give me a bit more flat bread to enjoy my side of hummus. Two little triangles is just not quite enough.
With fast food sandwich, chips and drink costing $ 10, I would rather have a something like this enjoy.

A solid 2.5 stars. The food here is good, the price point though seems just a little high. $ 10 for one kebob with maybe 7 small pieces of meat, a pile of rice, half a pita and your choice of side. I like my meat and this place just leaves me a bit wanting. Between the meat options that I have tried I enjoy the lam with rosemary seasoning the best.
The location itself is clean. Someone was sweeping up rice from the follow during my visit, so it’s nice they don’t just let it site till the end of the day.

My friend and I were searching for some quick food, but not fast food. So we pulled over to Willow Lawn with a deep craving for kabobs that day.
I believe I had the steak platter. I just remember the food being very minimal, and the price being too, too much. If that little platter left a small person like me hungry, I couldn’t imagine how my friend felt (he’s a bigger built guy).
Go to Coliseum Lofts Deli & Market on Broad for some real authentic kabobs, and some nice conversation with the owner, all for pretty much the same price.
