This is the premier place to buy materials to build/​update you home. They have wonderful stuff, not the cheap crap that most other places that we shopped carried. Their vanity selection was the absolute best anywhere and the prices are just GREAT! Their granite is absolutely gorgeous, and a lot to pick from. They also have entry doors, mantles, tile, faucets, vessel sinks and a lot more.
Customer service is BEST of the BEST! If you are doing a project in your home you’d be foolish not to pay Seconds and Surplus a visit at the beginning of your shopping venture. We LOVE this place!

Out of towners shopping for remodel material… I honestly didn’t expect a whole lot, but I was incredibly mistaken. The prices on flooring and doors were worth the trip, but the sinks were a bonus (bought two). The service was INCREDIBLE! As a matter of fact, we later went to another of their locations to find the same amazing service… Not kidding– we were that impressed. We even stopped the manager to tell him– he was very appreciative and humble. :) We had our small dog with us which they welcomed with treats, so she showed off a little bit. I highly recommend this business to anyone looking for more than box store service and prices.

SHOCK AND AWE! Prices for marble, granite, doors, cabinets and other home features at least 30 — 70% less of what you would pay at Home Depot or other speciality stores.
Most impressive was the customer service. I had at least six people assist me and they also provided a list of suggested contractors.
Also impressive was the variety of stone and flooring not available in the big box stores.

Needed 100 square feet of out of production flooring, could not find it anywhere, David Yates of hg radio suggested I call seconds and surplus. They didn’t have it in stock but searched until they found it, even for a small order. Upon going to their store i was amazed at the selection of things they stock and much easier to do business with than the big box stores.

S&S gives the impression you can save money but what a nightmare to work with, even with their finance company which was a whole other story and should have been a sign to go elsewhere but like everything else we found with S&S, they don’t care. Employee «L» we found out later has a reputation for being an idiot and messing things up. Our order was placed for kitchen cabinets with her at the beginning of last Nov. Expecting a 3 – 4 week turnaround we were surprised to hear her say it would not be done until the week of Christmas. Our Contractor called S&S manager and we were told they would see what they could do to speed it up. Fine, even though we knew nothing would happen (and we were right). Right after Christmas, a call was made to find out where our cabinets were, «L» said it would be mid January and that she never told us it would be Dec, even though she told us and our contractor the same thing, just denials no apology and through the process never taking any responsibility. Eventually the cabinets came in and they were wrong. The one thing we told her we wanted was easy close cabinets and drawers, none were done correctly (she blamed our contractor stating he approved it, contractor never gave any such approval). One of the cabinets wasn’t even close to a fit so our contractor had to recut and fix the cabinet we just paid for. L and the management were not concerned and never was there an apology or an effort to correct their horrible customer service. In fact one of the frosted glass cabinets was scratched and they were to replace it, a month later we called to get a status and were told by «L», «Oh I forgot». Again no apologies or efforts to make amends. This was our first and last time using S&S. I am appalled at the horrible staff working there and the fact that other people know who we are talking about says a lot about how poorly managed this store is, apparently this employee has a reputation for bad service and nothing has been done about it. You would think with such a mess made by their employee, management would have at some point reached out to at least apologize. The cost would have been worth it for good service and a good product (which we got neither) but what little if any savings might have been made in using them was not worth the long frustrating process. Now I know why so many people only shop at S&S once. Save yourself the frustration and don’t do it.

They had a good selection of dusty, dirty, faucets that you could wipe off with a rag… and take to the counter to pay a fair price. (lower than Depot or Lowes) The problem here is… once you walk out the door… regarding returns… you have to pay a 20% restocking fee. I returned a box with new faucet parts that hadn’t been opened… within 10 days… and it cost me $ 40. Obviously… I will never be back… regardless of the selection.

Buy at your own risk!!! The owner Richard flat out told me that! I bought 1100sqt worth of engineer wood from them and to found out that it was defective. The guy who inspect my floor told me that the owner knew all along but he continue to sell it to the customers. When I came to confront him he doesn’t seem to care. He made several statements that pissed me off. He asked me «what do you think second and surplus is?, buy at your own risk» after 6 months of dispute I decided to take legal action and he decided to refund my money but NOT LABOR!

We went to S&S to do a low budget remodel on our kitchen. We were able to create a custom kitchen on a budget. Lori Balderson was amazing. She had so many great ideas and was very helpful especially when it came to staying under budget. She was great to work with and I would recommend her to all of my friends.

Cheap bathroom, kitchen, flooring etc place I have found for remodeling or purchases. It’s like TJ-​Maxx once the items they get sells then they will not get another shipment of the same thing in. Did I mention cheaper then Home Depot, Lowes and some things are cheaper then Ikea. Give it a look!
