Comet Cleaners

I used them for years. Service is good they are friendly. Then they lost four pairs of my slacks. They took no responsibility, gave no apology, and refused to reimburse me. They said they had no insurance to vpcover my losses. They even said that during this time of year everyone accuses them of losing clothes. I wrote a letter to them a month ago. They did not respond. I will not go back.

I have been using Comet Cleaners on Campbell road for over a year now and have had exceptional service. I transitioned my business to Comet due to consistent problems I was having with a dry cleaners close to my house — constantly receiving shirts back with missing buttons that I would always unfortunately find out about when dressing for work. After moving my business to Comet, I have NEVER had this problem and have noted that they proactively deal with missing buttons by sewing new ones on. All this and quick turnaround on the cleaning — typically same day if I drop off before 8am. A very convenient drive through, and extremely friendly proprietor. I would highly recommend.

Wont go back there. Dropped my stuff off there, came back, the bill was 2x what it is at my other place, US Cleaners on Mockingbird. Its a joke. They dont match coupons and since they are the only place up here, they charge what they want.

I went into Comet Cleaners my first time this past week. Not only did they charge me a ridiculous $ 2.25 a shirt but they also ripped a pair of khaki pants and tried to blame it on me. I had worn the pants two days prior to bringing them to the cleaners and knew they were in great condition. I think my next stop is Decent Cleaners for my business.

I decided to try Comet after my old cleaner damaged one too many items. I had the same experience that Michael M. had on a previous review; my clothes smelled heavily of chemicals. I had hoped that the smell would subside after a few daysof hanging in my closet, but I was wrong.
I won’t be returning to Comet. It’s a shame because their service on my visit was attentive and prompt.

If I were rating solely on service, Comet would garner 4 or 5 stars. They are always fast and friendly and my clothes are always received looking nice.
However, the past 3 times I have used Comet, my clothes come back smelling very strongly of the solvent they use (perchloroethylene). According to what I have read from other cleaners, this is an indication of impure solvent and bacteria growth in the system. I thought it was caused by too strong a solution, but apparently not.
A properly maintained dry cleaning system should produce odor free clothes with every cleaning. That is most certainly not the case with my latest set of clothes. I now have 12 shirts and 3 sweaters which I am embarrassed to wear because of the chemical smell.

I took about $ 30 worth of dry cleaning here once and I came to pick it up with a 20% Off coupon UTD students got. The guy said, «Oh you should’ve showed it to us when you dropped it off, we can’t take it now.» I told him it doesn’t say that on the coupon and asked to speak to the manager. The manager said the same thing. Great customer service, a-​holes.
And the dry cleaning work was definitely not worth the cost. Stay away from this place fellas.

They always get my cleaning right, their staff is friendly, and they bring my clothes out and hang them in my car while I sit there like a spoiled rotten empress in a Suzuki. Also, that old car parked in the drive-​through makes me smile.
