J.P.’s Bar and Grill

Beat place in Renton for bar food. Phili over tots, breakfast and dinner specials are amazing. Pretty much everything is made from scratch. Best staff friendly attentive and free pours.

We were here on a Saturday night and always great fun with new friends, karaōke, great service and food.

Surprisingly amazing food. Authentic service, 10 TVs, and a neighborhood feel you can’t beat.

We came here for breakfast on the weekend. The girl working had half the dining room filled and half the bar filled. For one person that is a lot but she nailed the service and then the food came and it was amazing too. Definitely a place we will come back to for drinks and food. The bar is very open and has fun games too.

Really great food at super reasonable prices. I admit a partiality to neighborhood bars that have a slightly divey quality to them. This place I would not call a dive by any means. Lots of TV monitors and a couple of pool tables. Friendly ambiance.
As for the food, my wife and I shared the chicken wing sampler plate, which was fantastic. We also split a Philly cheese steak, and it was both huge and very tasty. They keep their beers on tap and an insanely cold temperature, which I love.
The only thing preventing me from giving it a higher rating was the fact they lost their great bartender recently. Still, well worth going there!

Love this place! Lately service has not been the same. Tonight came in for food, got told they are not serving food. Not the JP’s we are accustomed to.

My favorite guy and I were looking for a place to grab some lunch last Saturday. This place popped up on our Unilocal app. It was worth a try. We had good service and the place inside seemed clean. The outside needs some tending too, but overall we enjoyed our time and had fun playing pull tabs. We will be back.

Great little hideaway bar in Renton. The food is hit or miss but the service and atmosphere is great.

Great food! Wonderful atmosphere all the regulars and staff are fun! Only pitfall is they ALWAYS seem understaffed. Must come here with patients.

This is a very convenient place to watch the football games. They have lots of tv’s. The food is pretty good, what you would expect from a sport bar. The bartender makes great drinks. Although they tend to run out of things frequently, so you can’t always get what you would like. Everyone working there is very nice. However Service is VERY! slow! So be prepared to be there a while and bring your patience.

My cousin wanted a casual place to just eat and hangout on his birthday so we chose J. P because it was close by for everyone. It’s a local bar so I wasn’t expecting it too look all fancy smancy. I just wanted to eat bar food and hopefully get drunk. Our bartender/​server was amazing! It’s wasn’t busy at first but it definitely started picking up and she still got around to everyone she was attending too. We ordered two pitchers of Mac and Jack, 8 shots of Hennessy, and a whole bunch of appetizer to share. Tater tots with cheese and jalapeños, bacon wrapped shrimps, bacon wrapped jalapeños, spicy dry rubbed wings, fries pickles, and onion rings. Everything was yummy! I really liked the spicy dry rubbed wings and bacon wrapped shrimps that my friends ordered. We also played a few round of pool here before we had to leave to go out. I’m sure we’ll be back sometimes in the near future since it’s close by to where we all live but we do also have other bars we frequent quite often.

Good food still, but service is poor. 3 people working behind the bar and not super busy, just inattentive, and I am souring at the bar!
They just leave money on the table that I would have spent if someone checked on us.

I beyond love Jps. We go all the time. They have amazing brunch on Sunday. The atmosphere of the bar is infectious. The «bar food» is amazing. Pool tables, big game buck hunter, and weekends they have karaōke starting at 10pm. Come party with us locals at our hole in the wall bar and you won’t regret it! Thank for its walking distance from home!!!

Unilocal failed us on this one. All these reviews must be from regulars.
I usually don’t care about service, but everyone has their breaking point. 10 minutes to get any acknowledgement, 20 minutes to get menus after asking twice, and 35 minutes to take an order was our breaking point.
Finally, paid for drinks and said to the guy «it doesn’t seem like you guys wanna sell food, so I think we’re good». No acknowledgment, much less an apology. Awful, incompetent service. We went elsewhere and we couldn’t be happier a mile away.
Oh, and JP’s IPA is subpar.

This is a cool local spot. Doesn’t look like much but they have great food, good beer and friendly staff. Nice little neighborhood spot.

Nice place, great friendly service. Good food, lots of TVs. Had the chicken fried steak breakfast for dinner. Came out hot and fresh with home fries done with bell peppers and onions. Very tasty. My wife enjoyed her «wedge salad» very fresh and HUGE portion.
We’ll be back.

I don’t know why this is classified as a Dive Bar seems more like a Sports Bar to me. Maybe all Sports Bars are considered Dive Bars??? Either way, me and my wife had a «Date Day» we dropped off the kids as Grandma’s and were told we needed to try JP’s breakfast, well we got their too late and had to try their lunch. Good thing we missed breakfast because lunch was great. I had the JP’s Burger (Jalapeño, Cream Cheese, and Bacon burger) which I thought was super flavorful and cooked perfectly, and my wife had the Fish Tacos with «amazing guacamole.» This place was definitely a treat and we’ll have to make sure we end up there again. I know I’m headed towards that JP’s Burger next time.
