Worst pharmacy wait times in all of Reno. Every time I come here. It’s one of the only 24 hr pharmacies so they know it gets packed at night. Hire someone else part time.

yaknow… I go to this walgreens alot to fill prescriptions. Well… this«one time» I was asking the pharmacist about the dosage on over the counter melatonin for my child. This guy starts spitting out his opinion about how children really shouldn’t use sleep aides. blah blah blah blah blah! I was about to invite him to my house at 10pm and give him the opportunity to tuck in my child and see how well his lullabys work. It was really not his business and not within his job description to tell me how children should naturally fall asleep. Not-his-business. Just saying. Other times I have used the drive thru and the guy who works nights is WAY over worked. Its like he has a million customers. It is ridiculous considering this is the only drive thru and it is downtown. I give him 5 starts just for making the effort!

The location of this Walgreens is pretty cool, it sits on top of an overpass. The shelves are well stocked and it’s pretty clean for the most part. Something about this Walgreens seem off. Not sure if it’s just me or the employees smell like they just got done with happy hour in the back room. Every time I visit Reno I always make my way here to grab somethings I’ve missed. It’s close to downtown and literally only 5 minutes from GSR.

The only great thing about this pharmacy is that it is open 24 hours, which is a must for me as I work until 9:30 pm daily. Most of the staff is nice, but they are always extremely cautious when giving me my medications… This can be frustrating. I do not like being made to feel like a criminal for picking up my regularly prescribed medication. It always feels like some sort of back-alley drug deal, the way each pharmacist double and triple checks your name, date of birth, address, and sometimes even ID in a paranoid frenzy. I’ve been coming here for years– give me a break! The wait is always super long too… Even in the dead of night in the drive-thru. But you take what you can get– thankful there is a pharmacy open this late period.

My Unilocal karma was back in action this weekend. I encountered no crackheads on either visit to the downtown Walgreen’s. It was a five minute walk from our hotel and I visited twice in two days for bottled waters and snacks. The first day I walked over by myself at approximately 7 in the morning. The following day my daughter joined me as we made our way over around 8am. In comparison with our local branch, it was much cleaner, quieter, and less crowded. Definitely conveniently located.

While it is convenient, the service could definitely use an overhaul. I realize there are a lot of homeless individuals in the downtown area, but seriously… I came here with an emergency bathroom situation for my son with special needs. He had to use the restroom really bad and has been prone to a few accidents at times. I begged them to let him use the restroom, while shopping there and they turned me away. I pleaded with them saying he was having some stomach issues and they told me to find a gas station down the street. I was never so upset in my life. How dare they behave this way. I truly hope they never find themselves in a position like that. My son had no idea why they wouldn’t let him use it and was crying because he had to go to the bathroom right then. Thank God he made it to the gas station a half mile or so down the road because we could have had a huge mess in our car or on the Walgreens floor. which could have been a huge embarrassment for everyone involved.

Worst service ever! 5 pharmacist working and there’s been a line as long as an isle. 3 of them have been fiddling on their computers not having a care in the world of how many people are waiting in line. This is ridiculous. Never coming back to this location.

This is a «How the hell do I rate this?» review. LOCATION: It is downtown which is a plus since I live downtown and it is within walking distance. It is also convenient for me to stop in It is on my way home when I get off I-80. The downside to the location is you really do tempt fate getting there on foot because it is so close to the downtown entrance ramp to the eastbound freeway. LOTS of traffic. LOTS of drivers who have no concept of yielding to pedestrians in the cross walk who are crossing when they have the«OK to walk» light. CONVENIENCE: They are open 24 hours and have a HUGE selection of. .…stuff. Cosmetics(and all things girly), snack food, real food, toiletry, drinks, health items, photo department, decorations, stationary, lotions, ointments. Oh and a full pharmacy. It is a bit like a mini WalMart without the furniture. This place is BIG. ATMOSPHERE: This is where it get a bit mixed. The store itself is pretty well laid out with the aisles well marked. It is open and light and clean. The shelves are a bit crammed and sometimes things are pretty pawed through. The aisles are narrow so it can be a bit claustrophobic. Some of the fellow patrons seem a bit, as Patrick K. said, «dodgy». I do go there by myself so it is not that scary. SERVICE: Now we are getting to the not so good part. I usually come here to pick up a prescription at the pharmacy. They are SLOW! There is almost always a line of downtown dodgy denizens waiting to get medicinal attention. It does not seem very efficiently run with multiple employees needing to access multiple computers to make one transaction for one purchase. The few interactions I have actually had with the pharmacists have been very pleasant and the staff in general are friendly. It just takes forever. They have always filled my prescriptions accurately and the convenience of being able to pick up a prescription anytime and having it so close to home really outweigh the negatives.

Not your typical location. It’s easy to see when you’re on the freeway because it’s located conveniently. atop the freeway. 5 stars for the Photo department! I tend to pay particular attention to customer service when it’s an emergency. In this case, some fellow bridesmaids and I were in need of 140wallet size photos for the wedding the next day. I was expecting to submit the order and return an hour later, but the photo guy(Shoutout to Renjith!!) Said once the machine warmed up it would take only a few minutes to print! We offered to give the machine a blanket and some hot tea, do jumping jacks — aaanything to help warm it up. But like he said, a few mins and about $ 35 later, we had the 140 wallet size photos! Saved us time and an extra trip to Walgreens :) The only down side was we had to cut the photos ourselves since there are 4 per sheet, however the prints were beautiful! Just FYI, it was 4(2×3)photos per sheet and $ 0.99 per sheet. They made great seat placement name cards/wedding favors.

The customer service needs a serious revamp, ESPECIALLY in the pharmacy department. The sales associates seem to care more about the people inside than those at the drive through. If you plan I picking up your prescriptions in your car, plan for a good half hour wait. It’s much easier to park and go in. The majority of the time the second lane doesn’t work. You have to wait in the first line and holler through the drawer. This is the closest pharmacy to my house. Unfortunately it’s most convenient and I highly dislike coming here. As far as customer service inside, they are slightly better but the cashiers seem to be a little slower than most and don’t realize that some of us come in on lunches, or end of the day and we just wanna get home. I don’t know if they’re understaffed and overworked or what, but something really needs to change.

After waiting 5 min. at the pharm ctr, a car pulled up to the window and the BIG girl in lgt blue scrubs(straining at the seams) walks by me to help the car that just pulled up. I’m sorry fat girl i should have brought DONUTS i guess that would got you to help me. Lousy customer service. If Walmart were closer i would go there for my RX.

Beware of this pharmacy! After a Saturday ER visit, this store was the only one open. Had to wait almost two hours dropping off my prescription, while fighting in line with all the pain pill abusers walking in and out. They said insurance denied the rx, and I had to pay almost $ 200 «if I wanted it tonight.» I had my doctor fax a copy of the authorization, but they refused to honor it. I asked they call the office to request an alternative antibiotic, but the staff rudely told me they don’t do that and to call the doctor myself! I will NEVER go here again, even in an emergency.

Tried to charge me $ 150 for a prescription I usually paid $ 90 for. I called a different pharmacy and it turned out to be $ 50. Not only were they trying to rob me, they also made me wait 2 hours to do it.

Nice people. Slowest pharmacy EVER. Do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. It’s a nightmare. I have to come here every month and it tales me about 45 minutes to pick my filled rx up.

The best part of this typical Walgreens is that it literally sits on top of I-80. I for one find that super awesome. It’s not something that I have heard of nor seen elsewhere on the west coast. Inside this Walgreens are most of the typical Walgreens goods. However they have an expanded selection of knick knacks touristy area. Here they sell souvenirs at cheap prices compared to the souvenir shops in downtown around the casinos. Perhaps the best thing here is the pharmacy. If your in downtown and forgot your prescription or need a refill, this is a convient cheap place to get that rectified. Let alone it’s handy to get some booze or snacks cheaper than a liquor store or 7-eleven. So I bet you will find this place handy just like I do. =)

Very friendly sales associate in the cosmetics department who was willing to check me out and everything. Unfortunately when I was ready she was nowhere to be found and while Walgreens has great sales their regular prices are outrageous. The store could also be cleaner. I ended up waiting for the lady to check me out for 40 minutes she never showed up I put my stuff down and finally went to the front of the store they over charged me for the medication I bought and at that point I didn’t even go back in to correct a mistake I just left the store and drove back to deliver the meds to my son’s home

Most locals know this as the«Walgreens over the freeway» given that it’s built literally on top of the I-80 tunnel made between Sierra and Center streets. Reno /Sparks /Carson only has two 24-hour pharmacies, and this Walgreens is one of them. Having graduated from UNR, I’ve been in this store more times than I care to count, and the thing that gets me is how seedy the parking lot can be. I would probably place this on its downtown location, however, there are plenty of transients and druggies to go around. Also, this store — for the amount of business that it does — is not very well maintained. There’s always lots of trash, and you can tell that the floors are well-worn. The building also shakes when a truck goes underneath it. However, if you’re downtown, this is pretty much it unless you go to the stores on Keystone, which aren’t much better. This Wags has pretty much all you need.

Okay, I admit it. A few years ago, after coming off a week on the Playa at Burning Man and before checking into our hotel for the night, we stopped here for a quick run in to pick up a bunch of things you need after surviving a week in the desert: cough drops, hair conditioner, CHOCOLATE, bottles of Starbucks mocha frappucinos, band-aids, sunburn ointment. Considering I walked in looking like a hot mess(playa dirt encrusted in my hair and a week’s worth of dirt on my clothes), I fit right in with the homeless folks hanging outside the doors. No one blinked an eye, I was served just like any other normal customer.

This is definitely one of the better Walgreens stores, and I’ve found that the specials and sales they often have are much cheaper in the long run than some of the retail grocery stores in town. It’s open 24 hours and has a very friendly staff. It’s very busy at times, and sometimes there’s a wait to check out, but I can’t fault the store for this — everyone in this town seems to be keeping labor at a minimum these days due to the shattered economy. Tip: It’s best to make the effort to walk or drive here during your downtown visits vs. patronizing the several souvenir shops and locally owned markets within the casino corridor. I usually don’t have a problem with buying local, but these said places seem to nickel and dime you for everything that’s already very highly priced — all the way down to debit card surcharges. And yes, as another reviewer pointed out, watch your back coming in and going out. This store, unfortunately, seems to be one of the top places for panhandlers and crackheads to hang out that I’ve ever encountered in this city. I’ve heard enough sob stories here to write a book! Again, though, I can’t fault the store for this. It’s Reno!

It serves its purpose. It’s open 24 hours and conveniently located near downtown Reno. I still trip at the fact that this store is built on top of a freeway overpass. I keep thinking: — Is it structurally sound? — Will it collapse on the freeway below? — How’d they build this? — This is pretty cool! — Why do I always forget my toothbrush every time we come to Reno? Like I said, it serves its purpose. And don’t expect good customer service… escpecially during the graveyard shift. And a tip: Don’t give any money or lend your cell phone at the weirdos waiting outside who always seem to be in distress. Same sob story; different person each time.
