I have been coming here for years. Always a good time especially Super Bowls. The owner, Thomas Floyd, is always great and the other bartenders are friendly as well. Highly recommended.

I work here on occasion and frequent as a customer — it’s a great place! Cool owner/bartender, clean, friendly, not too loud or crowded, nice big screen TV’s always with sports on, smoking allowed, good pool table, inexpensive drinks — and even a fireplace. Whoever said hipsters would dig it was right, PBR for 2.50 on draft and carpet from the old peppermill. It really is a nice friendly place to take a couple of friends to chill without having to yell to hear each other, pay 7 dollars for a beer, or having to worry about some arse wanting to fight you for looking at him.

this place makes the best Long Island iced teas in town. The owner Tom is really nice. This is our place to go to drink.

I really enjoy singing karaōke here on Friday nights. The bartender is the owner and is very sweet. Drink prices are reasonable. Sit at the bar and play video poker or at one of the tables next to the fireplace. I notice the past few times there haven’t been any fires lit, perhaps it’s just too busy when karaōke is going and they don’t want any accidents. There is a back room with a pool table and darts. Smoking is allowed inside, so don’t go if you’re sensitive to second hand smoke. They do keep the doors cracked all night so it’s not too bad.

I was recently in Reno for a week of work(from Seattle), staying at the Hawthorn Suites, just down the street from Floyd’s. My co worker and I decided that from the outside it looked inviting– tidy, up kept building, great vintage neon martini glass glowing above. We weren’t disappointed. Tom, the owner, greeted us with friendliness and humor, and we settled into a relaxing evening of cocktails and chats by the fireside. The touch screen juke box is awesome, and the art work is interesting and appropriate. My only disappointment was not taking advantage of the pool table in the adjoining room, sitting on top of some of the most cosmic carpet one could imagine! I loved this place, total old school in all the right ways!

A great, comfy little place. The fire wasn’t going when we were there, which was kind of disappointing, but still a cool bar with super-friendly people. The sort of place you go to drink and chat – not to win a style contest.

If this were a larger city, Floyd’s would already have a mile long Unilocal entry filled with praise from hipsters about its cheap drinks, friendly staffs/regulars, and old school Reno ambiance. My memory of the evening spent there is kind of fuzzy, but it’s small, cozy, has some great old velvet wallpaper and photos of defunct casinos on the wall. Come early so you can actually score the critical spot in front of the fireplace that looks perfect for long drunken chats.
