Too bad they sold. I never got to try their taco cart outside. However the lengua en mole was a good staple from a non taquria perspective. RIP

I’m giving this place one star because I have to. Unfortunately La Pachanga(once my favorite Mexican restaurant) has closed and reopened under new ownership. The same waitress still works there, but, that’s the only thing that hasn’t changed. :( No more salsa trio at the table, no more homemade re-fried beans(I’m sure they were from a can). Don’t waste your time if your hoping for the old flavors of La Pachanga. Nothing is the same despite the old waitress telling me nothing has changed. Cause it clearly did!

As someone else has pointed out, this restaurant is now called El Lindo Michuacan. But it’s just as good as before! The salsa is fantastic, as are the chips. It’s hard not to chow down too much on these while waiting for your fajitas and nursing a cooling draft of Negra Modelo(with lime and chili — mm!). There are several great Mexican restaurants in this area, but this is still my favorite any day you want a substantial lunch break. MY companions loved their empanadas — go for the green sauce for the best flavor!

In one of the most saddening events of the 2012 season, this restaurant has changed ownership and has become«El Lindo Michuacan». This place is now as bad as it once was good. RIP La Pachanga, I’ll miss you greatly.

Real authentic Mexican food, tortas, enchiladas michoacanas, flautas and of course agua de horchata, this place has great food, great salsas, prices are reasonable, we don’t mind driving from San Jose for real Mexican food…

This place has really gone down hill since I first started going there. needless to say they have the BEST chicken in crema enchiladas i have ever had… its basically the same but with the white sauce. i have had some other dinner options but i always go back to that one, this place is in the ghetto but its worth trying it out if your in the area. :)

One of the more expensive places on this street. The food is ok, they have a larger menu then more. Worth a try if you are in the area.

Little orange building that sticks out from the rows and rows of auto shops down Middlefield. There’s so many Mexican restaurants, taco trucks, and El Grullenses on Middlefield… so competition is fierce. I love their carnitas super burritos where it has slices of avocado(not guacamole). Inside there’s a large tv which usually has soccer or a telenovela on. Staff is friendly.

Do you dine to eat… or look for some magic to happen beyond what is on the plate? Full body here: belly, ears and heart! Our setting was a Friday evening tour of Mexcian eateries(Sanchos for fish tacos to the«gas station» taqueria lengua y carne asada(El Gruence) … and then La Pachanga for«dessert». On my taco crawls this is always the last stop, though I never get a taco — something always happens here. So the pleasure this night was auditory and community: Fridays and Saturdays local mariachis show. But our magic was the«diner» at my right began singing, and could he sing. From the heart, to the heart — the word of the night was corazon. Duet after duet with various members of the mariachi. … Oh yeah, and the guy from Boston — what’s he doing there — so if you weren’t deep in song, you were laughing with the Boston fellow. So give them a call and see if the mariachis are playing, and make it a stop later in the evening to take in the fine music and community Redwood City can give through its cultural roots.

I used to go to eat here like everyday when I was pregnant… Until I found something extremely disgusting in my Rice a found a worm and I called the waiter to show her and she said do you want another one? I got up and she told me my total she was even charging me for the rice that had a worm I was so mad that I never went back to that place.

More expensive than a taqueria(it’s full service, in addition), but the ingredients are maybe better. I got a torta milanese. I wish it was more flavorful. The beans dried out the sandwich, which didn’t have the traditional, though not always appreciated, mayo. The milanese was good, and so was the bread. The chips and salsas were excellent, especially the pickled carrots.

We decided to stop in during the Fair Oaks Festivities. I ordered their fish ceviche– for about $ 11, you get a lot. There was plenty of fish and they have house made tortas. I had to ask for some since the lady just brought me a plate of the ceviche with nothing else to eat it with. I didn’t find it really tasty, it was just average and not full of ceviche flavors. The other two I came with ordered chicken enchiladas in red sauce. To me it tasted overly pan seared aka burnt taste. The order came with 3 with sides of rice beans and lettuce. The dish was tasty, but I had better. It wasn’t saucy, more seared onto the enchiladas. Overall, the service was ok, they came when they needed to, prices were a little high, between the three of us, the bill was $ 50 after tip. No alcohol was ordered either… Can’t say I’ll go out of my way to come back here.

I came here with my sister Sunday afternoon and we had a great lunch. She had some really tasty carnitas and lengua tacos and I had a carne asada taco and shredded beef tostada. The tostada was really yummy — a crunchy corn tortilla on the bottom covered with tasty refried beans, sliced beef, shredded ice berg lettuce, cooked mini-diced carrots and potatoes, fresh avocado and tomato slices, sprinkling of cheese, jalapenos, pickled carrots, and sliced radishes. We shared a side of rice and beans and washed it all down with two jamaica agua frescas. It was all very reasonable($ 1.50 per taco and $ 5.75 for the tostada) and the service was great. I spied some high chairs in the corner so I am definitely bringing the whole gang the next time I come back.

This is my first review, prodded by the difference in experience vs some of the other Unilocal typists. If you want cheap, non-taqueria mexcian, this is a good place to go. The soups in particular are excellent. If I had a less complicated relationship w/my mom and she lived close by and she cooked great comfort-food soups perhaps I wouldn’t appreciate the ones at la pachanga so much, but given reality I could eat them daily all winter. The menudo and pork soups in particular were fantastic. And the fishermans soup is a crazy orgy. Pineapple tamale($ 1.95) was good and unusual. Flavor was like portugeuse sweet bread in it’s mild sweetness. The carnitas and carne asada burrito(black bean) we had were just OK. I’d suggest any of the excellent taqueria’s in RWC for such stuff. Come here for what you can’t usually get elsewhere. We didn’t find it expensive — our order was so large the waitress kept asking if we were placing it to go since it seemed as if two could not consume the calorie extravaganza. With two beers and six dishes it was $ 35. The soups(again) were particular values: basically meals at $ 6 and $ 8 each.

Hey, Mexican breakfast served here all day long! The chilaquilles verdes come with a scrambled egg mixed in instead of the usual fried egg on top. That’s different, but fine with me. Friends with me both had the chorizo plates. Tortillas are the old fashioned kind that taste like they are made with lard, in other words they are good tortillas, hot and fresh. It took kind of a long time for our food to come out but there was a big group ahead of us and only one server for the whole restaurant. They serve their drinks in glasses with rainbow colors on the bottom, and the waitress’s fingernails coordinate perfectly. Only been once, but will probably return for lunch with coworkers to try the other options. Will update then.

This place is a little more pricey than the surrounding establishments, but it’s a more sit down place, too. You get what you pay for, I suppose. On that note, what you get in terms of food is not too bad at all. I had tacos dorados here last week and they were some of the best I’ve ever had. Picadillo de res to die for. Clean place, and they do let you take out, so that’s a plus if you’re popping in for a lunch or want to eat at home(but can’t cook). Friendly staff, and they have mariachis on Fridays/Sundays.

Decent food. I came here after my mother’s hairdresser recommended it to her. It is more of a sit down place than a to-go restaurant. It has a full bar and a loud jukebox. I got a burrito and that may have been a mistake. It wasn’t bad; it just wasn’t blow your mind good. I think this might be a better restaurant for other things. Next time I think I’ll try one of the plates or specialties of the house.

You know there are day’s when I find this place good and some other day’s when it’s not so good. I guess it depends on whose doing the cooking. I enjoy their order of sopitos with chicken or cecina. I have tried their camarones a la diabla too and they are good. On one occasion I tried a quesadilla and it was okay. Dont think i will have it again.
