Yellow Vase Floral Design Studio

So tonight, at Cannery Row Studios in South Redondo, is the opening reception for a show representing the life’s work of artist Wilfred Sarr. One article about the show commanded the entire front page of Easy Reader newspaper, complete with a color pic of Sarr’s self-​portrait. The lengthy article continues with more photos of Sarr’s work, and includes a few paragraphs where Sarr talks about Van Gogh, whose philosophy & art he greatly admires (as do I, Van Gogh being my favorite artist of all time).
I’ve met Wilfred Sarr briefly, only once, but I got a sneak preview of his work when I passed by this week as they were hanging the show. Very impressive, I love it.
Of course I’ll be there tonight & I never go to a party without bringing some kind of gift, so I had the idea to bring sunflowers, in honor of Vincent.
And that’s how I ended up at Yellow Vase today.
Well, first I went to Von’s to look for sunflowers, but realized I’d also have to buy a vase & deliver the flowers myself. Seemed kinda tacky for a guy who was featured on the front page of the local paper.
Then I thought of Yellow Vase, just down the street. They have a new floral/​gift shop across the intersection from their restaurant.
Yellow Vase Floral Design was able to work within my limited budget to create a last-​minute arrangement heavy on sunflowers, and even deliver them to the gallery in time for the show tonight. All total, I ended up paying about 10 bucks more than I would have paid at the grocery store & now I won’t look like a cheapass.
I may or may not tell Mr. Sarr who sent the flowers. The card I enclosed reads: «Keep both your ears but break a leg tonight. Congrats & best wishes from Vincent Van Gogh.»

The flowers at Yellow Vase are truly spectacular. Amazing says it all.
Everytime I place an order I fall in love with flowers all over again. Nobody does it better than Yellow Vase. I used to make my orders and purchases at the café location down the street but this spot lets me really take my time. I also have a good opportunity to see more of their arrangements and flowers.
I am in love with the store, the employees and the flowers!
