I went in on the holiday stroll in December and purchased a ring for myself and one for my boyfriend that matched. I was concerned about the size for my boyfriend but Amy assured me they had plenty of stock and would be able to exchange for the right size. Unfortunately, the ring did not fit. We went in over the weekend and Amy was not there so we asked the girl at the counter to check in back for the right size but she was uninterested in doing so. We followed up several times only find out that there were no different sizes available. We tried to find a different style but stock was limited on matching rings. So I asked Amy for a credit to my charge card, she then commented that all jewelry sales are final. I really wouldn’t have purchased the rings if this had been made clear, but during the purchase, Amy was so friendly and so sure that the correct size would be in stock if it didn’t fit, that I didn’t think twice about it. I ended up with a store credit that I will never use because I will not go into this store again.

I live near the area and had never been in. One day I decided to checked out the 50% off rack outside before getting dinner. I walked in ready to try on a few items. Amy, the owner was very friendly. When I confirmed the prices were 50% off she said they were already marked. Yet, I noticed many items in the stored had red pen mark downs on the tags. I knew something was fishy, but I really liked the dress. It was a pretty teal jersey cotton maxi dress. She wanted me to try on the L, but I tried the M on. I Really wish I had tried on the S though(the M is slightly big). My fault for being rushed. The owner was friendly and super chatty, and offered me «another» 10% off(Indicator it was never really marked down?) and before I could process everything I was handing over my credit card for $ 60. Okay… So this is the part that is upsetting; I went 4 doors down to another store and the same EXACT dresses were on sale for $ 35 from their original $ 45. I was so upset with SPF Unlimited(Now calling them self Safari). They are over priced and hence taking advantage of people. I took the whole experience personal even though it was all business for that woman. I sensed her lack of sincerity and went against my judgment. $ 60 was a Lot of money for me and expensive for a Made in China cotton dress. I would never buy from there again nor would I rave about it’s products or business integrity.

Walked into the store, greeted by Amy, shes friendly. But like another reviewer experienced, my friend was also cheated on the price when he got something here. He got a hat, there was a tag on it that said 30dll, but my friend was told that it wasn’t on sale anymore and was charged 40 bucks instead… Not coming back, things are nice but they seem so overprice.

I purchased a dress hanging at the sales rack marked«Everything on this rack is $ 15.99». However, to my dismay I found out AFTER the owner Amy processed the transaction that the dress was $ 40 instead. I wanted to return the item, but that was not possible since it was a final sale! When I tried to argue with her, since I felt betrayed by this kind of sales technique, she explained that the outside rack had a sign saying that the specific portion of the rack is 50% off! Strangely there is NOSIGN on the rack stating this! To top it off, the tag on the dress does not even have a price! So she basically charged me unjustly and dishonestly! I am very disappointed with my shopping experience at her store, especially because I really liked her and her merchandise. I do love the dress and would have bought it no matter what the price, but this deceptive way of sale ruined my experience and I will not be visiting the store again! The reason I am sharing this on Unilocal is because 1. Amy seemed to be a professional at doing this kind of deceptive business which leads me to conclude that I am not the only one she tricked into this, and 2. because I don’t want others to have the same awful experience that I had, especially for something that you like!

Went in today to get something for a friends birthday. Amy, the owner, came right over and found me three great options and even gift wrapped it for me!

This place is awesome! I stopped to just look, not even intending to buy anything. However they have really cute outfits at a great price. The owner is super friendly and very helpful. I originally picked a top to try on, and Amy(the owner) had wonderful suggestions on a few dresses and introduced me to jeggings :). The customer service is the best. Plus, I couldn’t stop cracking up in dressing room bc of her bubbly personality. All in all, a great store and will be back for the fall sweaters!

This is a store with horrible customer service!!! I made a purchase there with my credit card and found out later that my credit card was used for another customer’s purchase as well. But, get this, the owner WOULDNOTREFUNDMYACCOUNT. My refund was contingent upon the owner collecting money from the customer whose purchases she charged to my account.

I was greeted by the owner when I wandered into this shop for the first time yesterday. Thanks, Amy, for wonderful service! And thanks for gift-wrapping the«baseball» cap I bought for myself, such a sweet thing to do. Great customer service is the reason I like to patronize my local businesses. When I walk in, they know me by name. And over time, they also know which new products I’ll be interested in seeing. I bought a snazzy, white & yellow Peter Grimm cap, just right for summer at the beach. They also carry Panama Jack caps, so I’m sure I’ll be adding to my collection of those. Gotta keep the scorching sun off my nose! The inventory at this very cute shop is beach-y cool… appropriate for a place located a couple short blocks from the ocean. In addition to hats, they carry all kinds of clothes for men & women. I didn’t have time to explore the clothing racks this time around, but that day will come for sure. Is it summer yet? My toes are screaming to hit the warm sand. LA, I love you.

Stopped in here after a late boozy lunch with a gal pal. My friend spotted these adorable animal hats for her nieces and nephews. We browsed about and I found these really cute socks for my sister-in-law the self proclaimed ‘sock whore’. They are really cozy socks that will keep the coldest feet snuggly and warm with teddy bears and bows on the side. They had a few other types of socks and were on sale-whoo hoo! The owners of the store were just closing up as we walked by but they introduced themselves, Amy and Jeff Wilkens. They are super friendly and Amy is from the Midwest which is probably why she was so nice. She said ‘let us know if you need anything lil mama’ which made me laugh. They had a variety of clothing, accessories and even some Burts Bees stuff in the front if I recall correctly. I hope that they do well but I am sure they will find they fill a void in the shopping and restaurant row along Catalina. Again it’s nice to support local businesses and especially those who genuinely love their shop and all the customers they can attract and retain.
