Purchased 6 dacquoises, a variety of raspberry, matcha, chocolate and they were a bit disappointing. They sure look prettier than they taste. Kind of dry with an unappealing texture… Not so exciting. Though I will say the raspberry was the most flavorful. For $ 14 it wasn’t really worth it. Everything else looked really pretty but seemed expensive… I get they are quality products but there’s gotta be a balance between cost /profit and market value. Won’t be rushing back anytime soon, but yay for the gluten free crowd…

This is my new favorite place! Being gluten free often means you have to compromise quality, taste & selection. The quality here is very good, large selection, and super friendly staff. Clean & nice ambiance. My only problem is that there’s too many choices and I want to try everything!

i went here to try ALL their vegan desserts. 1. expresso mochi — AMAZING! i came back to buy 4 the next day. a bit pricey ~$ 4 but definitely would come back for a treat. 2. mango scone — too dry for me 3. strawberry with cake thing — really good too, but the mochi just wins my money over.

Gluten free and great favor, every thing I’ve had has been great and hard to till it’s gluten free. Worth a trip to try it out. I do enjoy that you can see the bakers working. I also like the coffee and teas

Went for the first time yesterday and was so flippin good went back today for round 2! This is a small mom n pop eatery /bakery that offers a gluten free only menu. EVERYTHING they make is gluten free! Most importantly their offerings are truly delicious. The staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Yesterday, I got a few things to go including banana walnut and Nutella muffin, a salted caramel scone, and their version of what looks like macrons. The macrons were my least favorite. However, in all honestly they are not really macrons they are called something else, so my tastebuds felt tricked! The muffin and scone were super good. You would never know that they were not made with regular flour. Today, I got a couple of things to try, including turkey pesto panini and a breakfast egg sandwich. Both were crazy good. Honestly, you would never know that the place was gluten free. Yes, it was really that good… Unlike most gluten free breads, their bread was light and fluffy and tasted like any good quality regular bread that you’d get at a bakery /Café. They have a slew of pastries, cookies, rolls, cheesecakes and all of the other items you’d find in a regular bakery. The restaurant is also incredibly clean and well maintained. Whether you are gluten free or just into eating at really good café’s this one is well worth it! Enjoy!

High quality baked goods. Great tasting G/F bread. If you want to buy their loaf of bread for $ 12 be sure to give 24 hour notice. Blueberry muffin is delicious and moist. I had the turkey panini and though I didn’t care much for the thin turkey slice, the bread is super good.

A dedicated gluten free bakery in the South Bay is what I’ve been dreaming about! I gave The Good Cookies a fair shot and was super disappointed with everything I ordered. Luckily, Kirari opened and my search for good GF treats is over. The chocolate chip muffin is really tasty as is the apple tart. I wasn’t thrilled with the banana tart but that’s because I like my bananas super fresh, like slightly green, and the bananas in the tart were very ripe. Every dessert in the display case look delicious though and hopefully I’ll get around to sampling them all. I highly recommend Kirari’s matcha tea latte or their chai latte. The quality of the ingredients speaks for itself. Both drinks are far superior to any you can find at a chain coffee shop. I’ll be honest, this place is pricey but it’s worth the splurge every now and then.

Count me in as a total sucker for this place. It’s not cheap, it’s not in a very happening area, but since going to(mostly) gluten free it is the best freaking bakery I’ve ever been to. Given the slow day I was here though I’m just hoping this place keeps going! I arrived on a Monday at 1030am since I was in the area and needed to get studying done. A different Unilocal review noted they had wifi so that helped cinch the decision. Their wifi is fantastic– I streamed lecture videos for 4 hours without a problem in connectivity or buffering. The music is a little loud and I definitely heard it over my lectures, but this place had maybe two other customers sitting in for any length of time so I wasn’t distracted by noise for long. There are outlets by the walls, although only 32 person tables and one long table for about 5. There’s also outdoor seating if you’re meeting friends– one of the employees rushed out at one point to adjust the sunbrella for two girls who were in the sun :) I ordered a pumpkin muffin and small coffee to start. The coffee tasted strong but balanced, almost like(Mexican?) coffee I’ve had that is boiled with dried spices. When I went mostly gluten free I thought I’d have to give up pastries, or at least traditional tasting pastries… but wow that muffin. It was so airy, like an English muffin, and yet smooth and decadent like a traditional muffin. Just sweet enough. The muffin is 3.50 for one and coffee was 2.50, so it is spendy. After a few hours studying I ordered a ham cheese panini. They say the bread is made of rice flour… wow. I never knew it was even possible to make rice flour bread! I had resigned myself to mostly not eating sandwiches or occasionally throwing caution to the wind and eating bread(then suffering for it), but if more sandwiches could be like this the world would be great. The bread is light and airy just like the muffin. The insides are great too– I think I tasted good deli ham, two cheeses, grilled onion, all topped with some tangy bbq like sauce. If that thing wasn’t 7.95 for one I would have gotten another. All in all I had a productive studying session and fan drooled over great food. The employees were super nice in explaining everything too, even if they probably wondered«why is that chick STILL there??» After my fifth hour. My wallet would hurt if I splurged everyday, but I’ll be back, and YOU should come too.

Fantastic! It’s rare to find gluten free options that are of such excellent quality and craftsmanship. My wife had the Manhattan egg melt(baked egg, sun dried tomato, parmesan and pesto); I had the turkey pesto panini with golden roasted potatoes. We both had almond milk lattes and shared a salted Carmel scone to finish. Everything had great flavor and balance of flavor. Highly recommend even to those who do not care about gluten free options. Atmosphere is very hip as well. You won’t be disappointed.

Gluten-free. Quality locally-grown rice flour. Not wheat pastries. Non-GMO. Made with craftsmanship. These are the qualities that Kirari West Bake Shop claims. I went to their website and it was very interesting to learn about the facts and it’s historical Japanese background. «Kirari was the first and only store on the region of Fukushima to carry exclusively non-wheat pastries». Awesome right? The ambience of this place is amazing. Modern rustic interior and the staff here always carry that professional busy look like slow and careful kind of action. Goosebumps feeling. Farmer’s apple Tart. Get it! Glazed Banana Tart. Get it! Salted Caramel Scone. Get it! Dark Passion. Get it! Blue Moon Cheesecake. Get it! Other stuff like coffee and teas. Try it! How did I find this place? Unilocal of course. Just when I need some desserts, clean-eating, vegan and still get the taste of fullness and satisfaction, when I am around the area of RB, I make sure I stop by. Price. You pay for the quality. Just saying. :)

EVERYTHINGINHEREISGLUTEN-FREE, and weirdly, i’m more than okay with it. honestly i have no idea how i wander into these places, especially b/c i am neither vegan or gluten free, thank goodness. i had looked at the photos and had managed to skip all details related to its gluten-freeness. saturday afternoon, walking my dog and we went there for a coffee. and of course, i end up ordering more than i eat and drink. regardless, it was DELICIOUS. you could barely taste the typical sandiness in their baked goods. they substitute rice flour and use products like sweet potato to make up for the starch. they bake their own bread that they sell by the loaf. they offer scones, pies, muffins, tarts and a version of french macaroons. in any case, the breakfast galette was fantastic. lattes were wonderful. the Dry sparking waters were refreshing. service was awesome. small outdoor seating. bright, light simple décor. for this carb-loading, bacon-loving, calorie-packing eater, this place was surprisingly tasty and fun to eat it. definitely recommend, even for the skeptic. location is in a weird little plaza immediately south of kings harbor but plenty of parking.

I really wanted to like Kirari West, especially after reading about them on Eater LA and their delicious looking pastries. I ventured out to Hermosa for coffee and breakfast, and in stopping in to Kirari, I was surprised to see how many gluten-free and vegan-friendly options there were! The pastries looked delicious and I had my heart set on a muffin, but I changed my mind at the last minute and went with the vegan coconut cream cup with a vegan pancake and berries for food and a pour over for coffee. The coffee itself was delicious, although it’s not clear as to where the beans are roasted other than it’s a Columbian coffee bean. There’s just one pour over option, but I definitely liked my coffee. The vegan pancake in the breakfast item I ordered was definitely not what I was expecting — it was dry and tasted a little bit like sand. Thankfully the coconut cream added to masking the dryness of the pancake, but eating an entire cup’s worth of coconut cream wasn’t really what I had in mind for breakfast. I ultimately decided to not finish it, which is a shame because I was really ready to like it. In any case, it’s possible that I might’ve just not ordered the right thing, but I doubt that I’ll make an effort to come here unless I’m in the area. Service wise, the staff was incredibly friendly and cheery, and it seems like a great place to sit and hang out as well.

Tried the Kirari West Gluten-free Bake Shop in Redondo Beach. Though I don’t have any gluten allergen problems, thought I’d check it out since the shop looks so inviting and the baked goods look great. All I can say is, It Is! A bit expensive because everything is gluten-free, but still tasty and not too sweet. The owner and staff are very friendly. The shop’s ambience is comfortable and inviting. It’s easy to miss since its in a strip mall in Redondo Beach, but to all my gluten-free friends, it’s a great place to check out!

We keep coming back to this bake shop. There are so many inspired pastries. On our first visit we tried the delicious Vegan Daydream(vegan pancake, coconut cream, mixed berry sauce with strawberries and blueberries). That cup of dessert is one to remember and it brought us back for a second visit after dinner in Redondo Beach. This time we tried the Affogato, an espresso drink with ice cream at the bottom and a tart crust on top). After finishing hers, my SO exclaimed«best invention ever!» The espresso was pretty amazing. The design of this little bake shop is top notch! We were surprised to find it almost empty at 5:30 on a Sunday. I think most if not all the pastries are gluten free, but you wouldn’t know it because everything is so flavorful.

I love that this bake shop is not just a gluten free bakery, but that they also feature some very unique desserts. The coffee here is also good. We ordered some muffins to bring back to share with family and friends on a recent vacation as well as the extremely delicious burnt caramel custard mochis. There was so much more that I wanted to try, but we did not have enough room in our stomachs to fit it. If you only get one thing here, I recommend the mochi.

I really liked the ambience of this bake shop/café. it was so clean, but not sterile/unwelcoming. The staff was incredibly helpful in explaining the menu items and coffees, and this was really great, since this is a specialty bake shop and they use rice flour for the baked goods. In addition, the espresso drinks are slightly different than what one may be accustomed to with chain coffee shops. For those reasons, I really appreciated the gentleman who explained things and took our order down. When it came down to it, however, I wasn’t really blown away by what we had. We ordered a salted caramel scone, a black sesame chocolate chip muffin, a café au lait and a machiatto. My husband liked his scone and coffee, but I really didn’t care for the aftertaste of my machiatto. Perhaps its just about getting used to the type of beans they use? Also, I am not gluten sensitive or intolerant, so perhaps I’m not the best judge of their gluten free items, since I’m sure that it can’t be fair to compare these treats with their wheat laden counterparts. Overall, I would visit again and try the apple tart, which looked incredible, even at $ 6, and I would like to try a different espresso drink to see if its any different than my first experience.

It is rare to find a bakery with vegan options but they have them! If you are lactose-intolerant like I am then you are probably totally freaking out right now. So far they only have the Mango Scone and the Vegan Dream. The waiter was super helpful and informed me that they are working on some new vegan options coming this month. The Mango Scone is… a scone. I am not sure how else one would describe it. On top there is this tasty dried mango drizzle. This item is perfect if you want something not too terribly sweet but still yummy. The Vegan Dream is my favorite out of the two. It is kind of like a parfait or mouse with fruit and a layer of cake. It is so fantastic. I am fairly certain it is made with coconut cream but I was too busy nom-noming to give you an accurate description. It is served in a cute little cup and just very tasty. Both times I have been there; I have had their cold brew coffee. This time I actually had it with almond milk and I loved it. I am sure all of you fellow coffee lovers will be an instant fan. They have hot drink options like tea and hot coffee. Espresso drinks as well. There are even other things you can order here like roasted potatoes or various cheese sandwiches with meat options. Oh! I almost forgot! For all of you out there who are gluten-free then this is the place for you too! If you have an questions you can always ask the super helpful and nice staff. I really have to compliment them on their customer service. Keep up the good work! This place is going to be my new hang out spot for when I want a sweet treat, bomb coffee, or when my wifi goes out. P. S. Free wifi!

Mochi Mochi Mochi, that’s what brought me to Kirari West. My sis brought home a 5 pack of their Custard Mochi… THEBEST I ever had. Deliciously delightful, dangerously decadent, downright dabomb. So I had to grab a 5pack for myself. What can I say, imma sucker for good tasting food. .Seeing this place for the first time I was impressed. Even down to the patio tables/chairs and umbrellas. Japanese family owned, I noticed right away the pride, sincerity and attention to detail, that went into the décor and the items in pastry case. I was lucky enough to have been greeted by the Chef Hiro. Very professional, informative and most of all personable(thumbs up Hiro). .I immediately ordered the 5pack, YES!!(just like Home Alone)…GLUTEN-FREE btw. I also ordered the Manhattan breakfast pizza. It was Outstanding, with Baked egg, Sun-dried tomatoes, Parmesan cheese, Pesto. I also ordered the Japanese water-drip cold brew 18 hr… gotta have my coffee. So much body and flavor gets extracted through this water-drip brewing method. Definitely must try. .Kirari West also carry VEGAN items, one comes to mind which is called the Vegan Daydream, loaded name, I promise I won’t take you there. lol kk. I’ll go straight to the ingredients, Vegan pancake, rich coconut cream, Banana mixed berry sauce, with Strawberries and Blueberries. Haven’t tried it yet, but does look delicious. I have sampled the Dacquoise which is similar to the French Macaron, but with a cookie on the outside instead. Many other non-wheat pastries in the case I would love to try. Guess I’ll just have to come back.
.The Saito family’s Philosophy of using food as a bridge, a means of connection between people, where they can come an enjoy the food that has been passionately created… translated perfectly into my belly. Highly recommended. Mochi Mochi Mochi. Shhhh quiet, I’m chanting.

Located right next to Happy Veggies, vegan dessert lovers are in for a treat. Kirari West is brand new and just opened shop in Redondo Beach. This bakery carries vegan desserts along with your regular desserts made with dairy. On this day of my visit, they had 3 vegan options! The café is inviting and filled with natural light. I got to try the Vegan Mango Scones, Vegan Daydream, and Vegan Pancakes. We also ordered 2 Cappucinos to enjoy. This place makes really good Cappucinos! The Vegan Daydream is absolutely delicious; the coconut cream on top… to die for! None of the desserts were overwhelming or too sweet. Also, EVERYTHING is Gluten Free! Matt and Brian helped us and they were wonderful. Matt was knowledgeable about the desserts and so welcoming. Brian made the gangsta Cappucinos. Got to meet Hiro the owner on our way out and he was so nice. His family actually owns 3 bake shop specializing in a specific dessert in Japan and this is their first shop in the US. Very excited about this new addition in the South Bay — Welcome Kirari West!

Yummm!!! :) My sister told me about this place in Redondo Beach that offers a vegan item. Turns out, Kirari West actually offers TWO vegan items! Everything is gluten free too. The bakery case is filled with lots of gluten free goodies that look like pieces of art. This café is super cute, sleek, clean and very inviting. We were greeted as soon as I opened the door. I ordered one of each vegan item and chatted a bit with the staff. It turns out, this bakery has only been open for a week. They’re still in their soft opening stages. TIP: The nice gal gave me a coupon for a 10% discount for my next visit so if you go soon, you might get one too :) The Vegan Mango Scone has a distinct fruity flavor without being overpowering. Simple, yet beautifully decorated with a bit of mango glaze, dried fruit pieces, and a sprinkle of coconut flakes. In general, I’m usually not a fan of scones due to it’s hard texture. But these scones are not as dense as I expected. I can totally get into these: On the other hand, the Vegan Daydream might be my new favorite«treat yo’ self!» kind of dessert! Cubes of vegan pancake layered amongst coconut cream and berry sauce, topped with fresh strawberry and blueberry. Mmmmm!!! :) If I was Unilocaler Vince V. and had the talent to write a song parody about this place, I would write a song called«Vegan Dream» to the tune of Katy Perry’s «Teenage Dream.»(Hey Vince! That means you have to go to Kirari West and write a song!) :)
