I was looking to have some cupcakes delivered to my sister, for her birthday and lucked out when I discovered Frau Schmidt! After reading some of the positive reviews, I decided to call and ended up speaking with Andrea. She was very friendly and extremely helpful. You can tell she takes pride in her work and really wants you to be satisfied.
She worked with me on getting the right birthday cupcakes and delivered them, as requested. They were a big hit! The package was beautifully wrapped and the cupcakes were delicious! Overall, I have to say that Andrea was very sweet and the quality of her work speaks for itself… highly recommended!

We spontaniously needed a wedding cake within a few days. Andrea was so kind and cooperative. I am so happy we found her bakery! She custom-​made a beautiful cute cake just the way I dreamed of. It even was decorated with real flowers! We’ve never had such a pretty cake before. Everyone loved it and it tasted amazing! Andrea helped to make our wedding day very special! Thank you so much!

I needed a last minute birthday cake for my wife and found this business on Unilocal with all these great reviews and decided to give them a call. Andrea, the owner of Frau Schmidt was very helpful and she was able to make a last minute order for me.
I wasn´t sure about the design so I told her to create something beautiful and she took care about everything, she picked the flavor of the cake (lemon cake with a delicious vanilla buttercream), she has created a wonderful birthday design and the delivered the cake on time.
The cake was amazing, it was actually the best birthday cake I have ever seen and my wife was very surprised and more than happy!

WOW, I’m SO GLAD we took a chance on this place for my Oma’s 80^th birthday! We were going to be in Redondo on Wednesday, but I forgot to order a cake from our usual place near our home in Simi Valley in time on Tuesday, so I googled bakeries in Redondo and found this one. When I saw an apple marzipan tart on the menu, that was the clear choice! Seriously $ 30 WELL spent! It serves 8 people, and was delivered (for free!) still warm, freshly baked! It looked gorgeous and smelled so good that it was hard not to sneak a bite before the dinner party!
Everyone was raving about it after the dinner and asking for the name of the bakery; it was a total hit! We’ll definitely keep this place in mind next time we need a dessert in Redondo Beach!

I saw the amazing reviews on Unilocal of Andrea’s cakes, so I decided to give her a call last minute to see if she was able to make a cake for my husbands birthday. I sent her pictures of what I wanted her to do, she quickly responded with sketches, and was able to design the perfect cake for my husband. The end result was a work of art: an Everrose Rolex. She even offered to deliver within the area. I wanted to deliver it myself to surprise him, and he loved everything about the cake, from the design, to the cake itself! Thank you again

I was trying to think of something to send Jim Fox as a Congratulations on being inducted into the Southern California Sports Broadcasters Hall of Fame, as well as a thank you for inviting us to the award event, as it was such an honor to attend. Jim is an amazing broadcaster, a pillar of our community, and just a downright great guy! I know that he likes sweets, so I thought I would give Andrea a call. Without me having to design or even do anything, she whipped up a dozen beautiful custom cookies that really captured the sentiment we were attempting. Each one was different, gorgeous and completely in tune with what we were hoping for. I’m a little worried she might have psychic abilities! We will definitely order from this business again and again and again, and I highly recommend you do too! :-)

I love this place. In the past year it has just gotten better and better. It is very much what you want a cute local coffee place to be: artwork, polite staff, a nice selection of goodies.

Andrea made our wedding cake, and our entire dessert table for our wedding. It was out of this world! — Above and beyond what I could have ever imagined. It was perfect — and the attention to detail was unbelievable! I was so, so impressed.
She even sent me tasters before my big day! It was so nice to know that I didn’t have to worry about anything, and it was all in very capable hands.

This isn’t bad a review. I was so looking forward to try this bakery but unfortunately I couldn’t find it. The address on the website took me to a family neighborhood and a family home. When I check on google maps it seems that I was in the correct place and yet no sign of a bakery anywhere… Question, is this a private bakery? Only by appointment or something like that?
I will try again in the future as the reviews are so good I’m intrigued and dreaming about trying those delicious cupcakes!

Frau Schmidt Cupcakes & Dreams is true artwork and delicious baked goods all in one. Andrea, the baker behind Frau Schmidt has baked for me on multiple occasions. She is so talented! Always goes above and beyond. Once for my birthday she made me a tiramisù cake as I requested and it was so good! Many of my party guests complimented it. It was also the perfect pièce-​de-​résistance for my party. It even had a fence of lady fingers with a red bow around the cake to signify it as a tiramisù and add a special touch. I have beautiful pictures of my family and friends gathered together standing behind the cake. Wonderful! She also made mini macaroons in a couple of delicious flavors for my party and they were so delectable that I wish I had ordered more, because people ate them all up before I had the chance to get seconds.
Overall, Andrea alway delivers. Literally and figuratively. (She actually does deliver the baked goods to you free of charge, too!) From her cakes to her macaroons to her Sweets Tables –which make you feel like a kid in a candy store– you can trust her to create something amazing for you. It will be just what you had in mind or better!

The Charlie Brown Birthday cake I had for my birthday was incredible. It was sooo cute, I did not want to eat it but my 3 grand daughters had other ideas. And it not only looked fantastic it tasted great. Chocolate cake with raspberry filling, Wow! It made my day, thanks Andrea. Wish I could put a picture of it in this review but can not see where that is possible, but I did include it in my profile picture.

One word. Impressive! I had a very specific request for decorated Little Orphan Annie cookies for a birthday party. The cookies were beautiful and tasted delicious. The detail, creativity, and artistic talent were amazing. The ordering process was very easy; communication about the order was excellent and timely. They were also delivered on time. Frau Schmidt exceeded all my expectations. I will be returning for future specialty orders. I highly recommend!

I found them on line while researching for a cake for a 50^th birthday party for my best friend.
They were so professional and responsive to my messages and on the day of the party they actually delivered the cake to the house. The cake was beautiful and delicious and it made the birthday even better because everyone loved the cake.

Growing up in Germany means that you miss a few things when you live abroad. Crispy and rich bread, German sausages, mulled wine in the winter, and sometimes German beer (so much for the cliché). However, what I didn’t expect to miss was the cupcakes, cookies and cakes from back in the days, when grandma put three huge plates on the table and the family sat for hours, having coffee, tea, and cake.
So I was even more surprised, when I recently discovered Frau Schmidt’s cupcakes on a trip to LA. The owner Andrea is German herself, and combines the best of the two worlds: cupcakes and cakes German style, combined with an incredible attention to detail and presentation, which I find quite typical for American cakes and cupcakes. The result is an incredibly delicious piece of art.
I don’t know if these are the best cupcakes in Los Angeles, but having been around in America and Canada for quite a while, I can say that I’ve never tasted anything better anywhere else on the West Coast. And yes, sorry grandma, Andrea outperformed you, too.

We ordered some beautiful Christmas gingerbread houses for our top clients. Wonderful and very artful creations. We got so many positive responses from our clients, it was definitely worth spending more than on grocery store products! In addition, the taste and freshness can’t be beat. If you want quality, this is the place to go!

Frau Schmidt recently provided our Dia De Los Muertos corporate VIP event with the most stunning cookies that really wowed our guests. I have had the pleasure of tasting her wonderful wedding cakes, lovely pastel macaroons and cupcakes but my all-​time favorite is the surprise birthday cake I received from Frau Schmidt. It was beautiful, delicious and memorable. I look forward to celebrating all special occasions with Frau Schmidt’s dreamy baked goodies.

I was looking for the ultimate beach boy birthday cake that would be special for all. I wasn’t sure exactly what I wanted and threw around just a few ideas to Andrea and she said, I got it!!! She arrived at my sons 8^th birthday party with a two tiered most beautiful surfer cake I had ever seen. But that wasn’t it. We cut into the cake to find the middle filled with delicious skittles that poured out as you cut into it and multi colored cake (OMG to die for) Absolutely the most incredible look but then it gets even better… The most delicious tasting cake as well. I couldn’t have asked for a better cake !!! Thank you Thank You Thank you so much for making it so perfect!!! THEN… the most beautiful cake pops on the side that everyone wanted seconds of. Just PERFECT!!! I couldn’t Thank You enough.

Creative and delicious at the same time!!! I’m that mom that wants to coordinate the party theme down to every detail so Frau Schmit Cupcake & Dreams made me the most amazing Lego cake and cookies. My son was super excited and our friends including myself were so impressed with the cake details and of course it was yummy! Since then we have used FSCD for teacher appreciation days, soccer game snacks, Halloween goody bags and the most impressive project was the home-​made ginger bread house customized for my husbands clients since he is a Realitor.
