Not the place to go for a shampoo/blow out. I have longer, thick, wavy hair and I think it was more frizzy-looking when I left than when I went in :-(It didn’t stop them from trying to convince me to come back for a color and a cut or for criticizing various aspects of my hair – also not a plus. The products used seem sticky and cheap and the blow drier & iron weren’t high enough caliber to get hot & do the job. Really disappointing, and the same cost as places like 02 Blowdry Bar or Swink.

I got my eyebrows and upper lips waxed from here once and it was horrible .The eyebrows were absolutely in different shape /thickness from each other. Inspite of knowing my skin was a lil dry the lady waxed it twice and I had bruises on my upper lip. Needless to say I am not going there again.

Went there for a manicure and the manicurist didn’t know what she was doing. She was very confused. Not only did she cut my skin along with the cuticle. She put nail polish right over the blood.

Salon West Wind is a great salon in the Overlake shopping area with a wide range of services including haircuts, perms, color, updos, and mani/pedis. I’m a regular there and have gotten all of the above services. Thumbs Up: — Anna, the salon owner, is engaging and professional. Every haircut always starts with a consultation on what I wanted and any recent issues I’ve been experiencing. After a shampoo and cut, Anna expertly styles my hair and teaches me tips and tricks to manage my new do. She’s even given me free bang trims. — Kim is the updo expert and I’ve trusted her skills for three events now. She stays current on the latest trends and you can pretty much show her a picture in a magazine and she will execute it flawlessly. — I’ve never been harassed by Salon Westwind to buy any products, which is a huge pet peeve of mine. Sure, I don’t mind recommendations, but I despise having a salesperson cut my hair. — If I ever had a concern or complaint, I would not hesitate to go back to the salon and have Anna or any other stylist fix it. Any competent business would offer the same policy. Thumbs Down: — Can be crowded at times. Since I work nearby, I stop by during lunch or right after work, so perhaps it’s not so bad at non-peak hours. Perhaps grab an appointment if you can.

Anna received some awesome reviews, so despite my better judgment I booked an appointment for a haircut with her. I knew I should’ve just waited until my regular stylist was available, but I got impatient and decided to see Anna since this salon was right down the street from where I worked. Though she was a great conversationalist, she had no idea what she was doing with my hair. I drove to the Rite-Aid as soon as I left to get hair ties because I couldn’t stand how my hair looked after it was cut. She said that there weren’t drastic layers(there were) and she overthinned out my hair. Because she thinned my hair out too high, it created dramatic S-curves on the back of my head. Not to mention that the left side was an inch shorter than the right side. She had apparently cut the left side but thinned out the right side instead of cutting it. I knew right away that the haircut was awful and my suspicions were proven right when my usual hairstylist pointed out the technical flaws in my cut. Sad to say, I paid for two haircuts in one week and I will never go see Anna for a haircut again. $ 35 and a $ 10 tip wasted, and my year of growing out has come to an abrupt end… since my hairstylist had to cut some of the length to even out the overdramatic thinning and layering. I would give Anna zero stars if I could.

I started visiting Salon West Wind every five weeks when Carol joined up there. I follow Carol EVERYWHERE! See about ten years ago I wandered into ‘Changes’ in Bellevue to see about gettin’ a brow wax. There she was — the Goddess of hair color! She was polite when she told me my that whomever was currently in charge of my hair had not done me any favors and she’d be willing to help me out! I was cautious afterall, my babysitter had just graduated beauty school and I thought my streaky blonde white foiled acid toned hair looked great against the grey skies. And finally, she listens to me drone on about my crazy abosolutly insane family! No one ever knows what terrorizing activities they will be up to next. God, knows she offers better therapy than a therapist — she makes my hair pretty — how freaking vain.

I’ve been going to Anna for YEARS!!! Ive gotten everything done here from hair cuts, color, highlights, perming, updos and even mani/pedi and face waxes! She has a very good sense of style and always finds a hair style for me that flatters my face. I usually don’t have a great sense of what kind of hair cut I want, and in those instances Anna always figures out a good solution. AND when I do have a good idea of what I want, Anna listen’s and is able to reproduce what I had asked her to do for me. The salon is always really well kept and clean. There is always ample parking. What else would a girl want from a salon!!!

Anna is the best! I was unsure of what kind of hair-style to go for so she gave me a few ideas. In the end, I was very happy with my hair and she was an interesting person to talk to also. I would definitely go back!

finally — the REAL salon west wind(not sure what that other one is all about)! i’ve been going to anna for the past couples years and she’s great! she really knows what she’s doing and always manages to give me what i want — even when i don’t even know what i’m asking for at the time! she also provides free entertainment(in great stories)! come to think — i don’t know how she manages to cut my hair straight w/how much she’s got me giggling. + bonus points.
