Rocket 88 Gentlemen’s Barbershop

FYI before I start this review please know that this place is located upstairs above the ice cream shop and The District bar. It can be initially hard to find but if you just walk upstairs you will be pleasantly surprised.
I needed a haircut after work on a Friday night for a wedding I was attending the following day and due to rush hour traffic I was unable to attend my usual barber shop. Fortunately for Unilocal!I was able to search and come across this great barber shop that was open late and saved me from looking grizzly at the wedding. Adrian is really friendly and makes you feel right at home. He takes his time with your haircut and gives you the full barber experience such as wrapping a hot towel on you and using a single razor shave to give a clean and polished look. As men we do not get manicures and pedicures so this type of treatment is probably the closest thing we can get that compared to a woman’s «day at the spa»
Pros: great haircut and experience. Although $ 20 for a haircut sounds pricey, it is definetly way worth it in comparison to the quality of haircut you receive from your local $ 12. At the very least, make an appointment with this shop if you have a special occasion and want to make sure you hair cut is on point because they do not disapoint here.
Cons: I wish there was a sign or directions on how to locate this place. As I mentioned at the begining of this review, the barber shop is located upstairs. I ran around the building looking for the shop before being directed to it’s location by the workers of the comic book store on the corner.

This is an awesome old school barber shop. And Adrian is a very skilled barber. He gave me a perfect pompadour and the haircut was finished up with a hot towel and straight razor shave on the back of my neck. So if you care about what your hair looks like and like rockabilly music check this spot out.

Came in from San Francisco to visit family. I was in desperate need for a haircut. Unilocaled barbers in the area and this one came up. Looked through the photos and knew this is the place I wanted to go. There are other barber shops in SF that have this vibe and type of barbering, so I gave it a shot.
Called up and was able to get a same day appointment. Came in, greeted by the owner and had a seat in the chair. I described my normal hair style but asked that he surprise me for my wife and make it a little tighter.
45 minutes later I had the hair I wanted and then some. Very attentive to detail. I love barbers who spend their time making a piece of art with your hair vs trying to get the next body in the chair.
Adrian is by far a diamond in the rough here in Redlands for barbers. If you’re looking for a really good men’s style, this is the guy to see. 5 out of 5.

What a great place to get a cut. Not only does the owner/​barber give a good fade. He takes his time and focuses on the details. He’s also a stand up guy. The setting and old fashion décor is perfect for the modern gentleman. Thanks for the cut. Will definitely be returning and recommending others.

I brought my 6 year old son to this new barbershop in downtown Redlands, the owner Adrain was so nice and took good care of him, on top of that he did such a great job on my sons hair! I recommend it if you are in the area and I recommend the drive if you are not! The atmosphere is so 1960s and so is the music! I just loved it! We will definitely be going back. The price is great for the job they do there, and they take their time they don’t try and rush to get you out. Check them out!

First time here and I must say, I am impressed. This is an old school barber shop. The real deal. It’s on the second story above The District on citrus. Services offered: haircut, hot towel shave. No manicures or facials or any of that nonsense, just clean cuts, hot shaves and good conversation.
Adrian was my barber and gave me a super clean cut exactly the way I wanted it. Cutthroat razor on the nape and ear arches, as it should be. I’ve been to other «barber shops» that did not do this.
I will definitely be returning and next time I’ll spring for a shave.

My husband just got his haircut here today, he asked for a gentlemen’s haircut and got exactly what he wanted. I can’t say enough about how good the service was very professional and friendly he will defently be coming back! Thank you Adrian

This shop is amazing. It’s beautiful and very well decorated to the era of the Cope building. The gentlemen are kind and very professional.
