I just needed my glasses repaired on Christmas Eve… I hadn’t purchased my frames from LensCrafters, but the gal who met us as we walked in offered to fix them anyway. It was a really great experience, overall.

Beware if you have vision insurance! LensCrafters placed an UNAUTHORIZED lens and frame pre-auth with my wife’s insurance after getting an eye exam, resulting in my having to call LensCrafters to get them to release the lock on her being able to go elsewhere — only to get the runaround by a rep in their Redding, CA store. From there I had to contact our carrier, the carrier in turn having to call LensCrafters to get them to release the pre-authorization. If I remember correctly, this is called ‘slamming’. Buyer beware! Unethical business practices!

I visited Lenscrafters two and a half years ago and a year before that. At the last visit, the Dr. said simply, «You have operable cataracts.» Nothing more. And gave me a Rx that was not helpful at all. After going to Shasta Eye Care, I was educated on what was happening and why my eyesight was so bad. I have had cataract surgery with NOPAIN and excellent results. If you think you are having eyesight problems beyond normal, go to an Ophthalmologist, NOT an Optometrist. ALSO, DONOTPAY the extra $ 40 for a picture of your eye! It is a ripoff. Any Ophthalmologist or Optometrist can see what is happening in your eye right now.

This is a really great LensCrafters. Im just glad there’s one in Redding! I’ve gone for an eye appointment and the Dr was really great. I also went in to help my mom pick out some frames, and the women working there were sweet and helpful. The only downside, for myself, is that it’s in the mall. I don’t like going to Shasta Mall…

The store is clean and organized in a helpful way. I was a walk-in customer hoping to schedule an appointment that day. The woman at the front desk was incredibly kind and fit me in their schedule. My appointment was fast. I didn’t have to wait long. The attendant who did my eye exam helped calm my nerves by efficiently explaining each process and what was to be expected. She was amiable and liked her job. The doctor who did my final exam was of the same character. She was comforting and friendly. After my check up, she showed me the difference from my current prescription to my previous and was patient to help me understand what I needed. Right before I left, a woman at the front desk recognized my last name and realized she treated my mother months ago and made me feel at home. Great job LensCrafters Redding! Way to raise the bar!

I have had a few minor issues such as my daughters glasses being made with my rx and ordering a polycarb polar lens which made me feel dizzy and get a headache the staff corrected my issues and even credited back some money which was great! They are usually under staffed and the wait time is a draw back but the manager/gm is super helpful very good service from him. The turn around time of one hour is usually about right. Would recommend but give self extra time in lieu of having to wait for an optician to assist you.
