Wine & Beer Festival

The 7^th Annual Trump Wine & Beer Festival was the best one ever. I attended the very first Trump Wine & Beer Festival back in 2008 and I must say that the festival has come a long way. They have some of the best (IMO) wineries and breweries from throughout California and the food trucks are serving up some good food. The people attending the festival are classy and friendly and out to have a good time in the sun. The festival features live music that is excellent for listening and dancing. I am looking forward to attending the festival again in 2016 !

This was my first time at Trump Nationals Wine and Beer Festival and I have to say I really enjoyed myself. There is really not a better setting for an event like this than on the cliffs of Rancho Palos Verdes (love my city). It was a breeze parking and taking a short walk to check in. There were three separate areas at the festival (wine, food trucks, beer) which was a great idea to not have them all jumbled together. I am not really a wine drinker unless that is all there is to drink, however I really enjoy beer. That being said the quality of beer being served was not as high as I usually drink because I am a huge beer snob but that doesn’t mean they weren’t good. I would like to see Trump try and get some breweries that are more popular in the nerdy craft beer scene for the next event. Everyone at the festival looked to be having a great time and there were no messy/​sloppy drunks that I saw at the end of the event. The food truck selection was great and the lines were never long. They also had a few booths with vendors selling various goods. I bought some artisan flavored olive oils which are super tasty.

We have been last two years and had a blast both times. Parking situation is horrendous – either get there very early or hire a taxi/​limo to drop off and pick up. Beware, it can get quite sloppy at the end… not nearly enough bathrooms.

This is a yearly event at the Trump National Golf Course which is usually held the last Sunday of August. Yesterday was their 4^th annual event. 21 and over, $ 50 per ticket.
Each year it gets better. The first two years they only had wine. Last year they included beer. This year they included food trucks.
I have to drop their stars from a 4 to a 3 because of their valet service. It took everyone nearly 50 minutes to drive from Palos Verdes Dr down to their parking lot (0.3 miles). Even worse, it took nearly 1 hour to get our car after the venue. I don’t blame the valet employees. They were doing their best running up and down the hill /​parking lot to get everyone’s cars. Management should have planned this out better. My person opinion is to either increase their valet staff times 4 or make the event self parking. Because of the valet issue they were generous enough to extend the event from 4pm to 5pm.
Other than the valet issue it’s a great event to visit that comes only once a year. Even with the valet issue yesterday I’m still going to go next year! It’s that great!
