This place is pretty good, I come here once in awhile. I gave them 4 stars cause they got my friends order wrong & it was hard to find our waitress. Overall, I still recommend this place, it’s just a little pricy.

So I wasn’t going to write this originally but since I didn’t get a call back from someone regarding my concerns, I figured it’s best to let others know of my experience. I have been going to wabi sabi for a while now and we usually have no issues. This week however was a different situation. We called in an order and when my husband went to pick it up it was not ready for about 15 – 20 extra minutes, but that was a minor issue… still disappointing. When my husband got home with the food I noticed that the crunchy roll we had was missing the eel sauce, bummer :(Then our rice was plain white rice instead of fried, and the biggest issue of all was the onion soup. The soup appeared to be full of oil. There was no way we were going to chance that one by eating it. Overall when you go to a place like wabi sabi you go for the experience, and when you do take out at a place like wabi sabi you are going for the food. Spending $ 75 on take out and getting horrible service, missing items, and food you can’t eat is a definite reason for 1 star.

This place is the best ever! I have been going here for over a decade it’s amazing. Kenny is the best chef? Ask for your rice extra crunchy it’s the only way! Sushi is good too but their teppan is amazing. Best Japanese food I have ever had! I love this place so much.

The food is fantastic great environment for family and friends. My kids loved the tricks that they do and they actually are most of it which was a surprise the amount of food is well worth the price food was cooked the way I liked. Was actually shocked I was able to get reservations on Valentine’s Day

I use to love this place, but this past week I literally notice earwigs coming out of the rice. I am a regular, and I highly recommend if anyone works for the health department to do a surprise inspection. I’ve never been so apppaled and ashamed of the quality of standards, they lost a customer and many more because I will be spreading the news.

Great service! Great performance by the teppanyaki chef. I’ve been here numerous times and every time I come, the chefs have been on point. You hear groups laughing and clapping around the restaurant which creates a great atmosphere. The place is clean and the ingredients are fresh. Love sitting at the sushi bar and talking to the sushi chefs too especially when I need to go for a quick lunch.

Food is regularly pretty good chicken always seems a bit over cooked. We’ve got in the habit of making reservations anymore because they’re always so busy made a reservation tonight upon arriving at 7 for our 7 o’clock reservation the hostess tells us she misheard our last initial. A few minutes later the manager tells us we didn’t have a reservation. They continued to sit guests on their walk in waitlist and reservations that were after us(example: party of 4 @715 party of 5 @7:15) I must add were only a party of 2. Finally after 30minutes they sat us no apology nothing. I understand they are busy THISISWHYWECALLEDANDMADE A RESERVATION. I have personally worked in customer service for 10years in restaurants and in a hair salon making appointments isn’t as hard as they are making it out to be. Heres a solution guys don’t accept so many appointments in each slot knowing you will have lots of walkins. Or book up and tell the walkins they can always make an appointment ANDTAKETHEMIN A TIMELYMANNER.

Excellent service and the food was delicious. Our cook/food artist was Tong Tong he was very friendly and had all of us laughing we had a great time. Ask for Tong Tong I was able to observe the other cooks they were ok but Tong Tong was great. The cooking of the food was impressive. We had a party of 9 on one side and a party of 6 on the other table. ’” open your mouth!” Had us rolling with laughter. Thank you for the good times. Till next time :)

Come and see TERRY at the sushi bar!!! He is the best chef here and he is so friendly. He definitely made this dining experience a memorable and wonderful one. Not to mention his beautiful and creative sushi creations! He made jokes and gave us great conversation throughout the whole meal. My family and I will be back!

Great fresh sushi. We have our favorite sushi Terry. He can handle all your requests. He is fun and entertaining. Good portions and great service. A great sushi staple in Rancho Cucamonga. You must try.

Our chef was funny and played games with us. We ordered the New York steak with fried rice, noodles, and vegetables. That New York steak was cooked to perfection. I ordered it medium well and I was very happy with it. It’s a lot of food with a good portion of meat so I think I got a good amount of food for the price. — satisfied customer

First time here without a waiting line WOW! First the waitress almost pills my water on me then the people at our table did not want to get involved in any way with the chef. Place two order of sushi Crunchy Roll & Spider Roll to share ok then the chef started to cook and tossing piece of egg around our table no participation from the other guess, still no sushi. Again waitress almost split soda on me strike 2. Then chef notice short one serving of fried rice of course mine. Chef calls waitress to have the kitchen cook the rice I just said take it from another table(kidding). Chef cooks all the food and thanks everyone still no sushi. Ask waitress about our sushi kitchen really busy ok. Almost done with the meal still no sushi ask again about the sushi this time request to get it to go. No sushi. Ask the waitress that was getting the leftover ready to check on the sushi it was not even done so she had to request again. Never had this bad of service here finally the waitress that almost gave me the shower gave us and ice cream on her. Then they started to place the plates for the next customers when we were not even completely done so the trays that holds the two sauce when flying on the table. This place was not busy tonight to herd everyone out like cattle along with the horrible service last time here.

This is our place to go. Indeed there are other places that pop up… And eventually shut down… but this place is still going! Regardless, they have the best; GREATSUSHI! !! At the sushi bar — ALL are awesome!!! But I have been served the most by «Tony, Tony, Tony» or Rich!!!

Knowing how Benihana’s level of teppanyaki, I was slightly hesitant on coming here after Gen next door had a 45min wait time. Was greeted immediately by hostess, so very good on that. she asked us where we would like to sit and if we had eaten there before. Then she asks, «Have you had Benihana? It’s like that.» I think if you work there, you shouldn’t be comparing your establishment to another. We sat down at the grill and was followed by two other parties. 10 minutes later, cook comes out with his cart. His English was straight meh and it was kind of hard to understand what he was saying but made jokes every now and then which were understandable. Fried rice was a bit bland even though it is doused in butter and soy sauce. Veggies are nice but were cut way too large. Beef and chicken tasted great, the meat being perfect. However, the chicken was a bit dry. When the cook was done, a server came by a little later to box up our leftovers, I definitely appreciated that. This would have gotten higher rating, but when I got home, my stomach started hurting and I had to run to the bathroom. Let’s just say I was in the bathroom for a good while. So it did taste good, but now I’m questioning the quality of food.

I have been coming to Wabi Sabi for a long time now and just realized I have yet to review it. I LOVE this place. I typically sit at the sushi bar and only eat sushi and fried rice.(They have the best chicken fried rice) I have also sat at the teppan grill and experienced the«show» they put on. Same as you would see anywhere else. All the food has always been great for me, I’m actually surprised to see these negative reviews. But then again there are so many picky people that I retract my statement of being surprised.(I bet some of you just read that and said, if I’m paying for it, it should be perfect… I’m so glad you’re perfect at everything you do… must be awesome.) The staff is all very friendly and super helpful. I love when they offer to make us special rolls so we can try new things. I’m a creature of habit so I get the same rolls every time. The waitresses who take your orders are very sneaky… they always take my sodas and fill them up without me noticing… now that is service. This place gets really busy especially at the typical lunch and dinner hours. I myself have never waited longer than maybe 10 minutes, but like I mentioned previously I sit at the sushi bar. Like any other busy restaurant there is usually a wait to sit at the grill.

Didn’t start with high expectations due to yell reviews but I would come here again. The servers were friendly and the food is good. Not phenomenal but good. The uni sushi was meh. Too salty and pungent. Difficult to put my finger on it but didn’t have the fresh buttery taste and texture. The spicy hamachi hand roll was tasty. I’m partial to sesame seed oil and it had a slight drizzle on it that I really enjoyed in the spicy hamachi and fresh cucumber balance. The filet mignon was so juicy and tender. They use lots of butter but it didn’t taste heavy of it. The scallops of juicy and fat. Nice texture and taste to them. The veggies with them were sort of lackluster in comparison to the meats but that’s okay. The fried rice was very tasty with the meats. The fried rice by itself isn’t special but it goes well with what they serve. Our teppanyaki chef’s name was Harry. Very nice and friendly gentleman who displayed great show with the egg!

Health department will be notified: I ate here right before closing. The guy across from me ordered a water with his meal, which he drank about a quarter of. After the meal, which was good, and our chef was awesome, a guy came around to clean the grill. The guy with the water enjoyed their meal and left, while my party stayed a few more minutes. The grill cleaner, placed the grill pads on the grill, then took the straw out of the water glass and dumbed it all over the grill! He then proceeded to scrub with the pads. I have seen the procedure done at the WabiSabi I usually go to, and have never seen this before! Disgusting. I will not return.

I love that this place takes reservations. I called in the morning to make them, then called in the afternoon to confirm, and they were ready to go. Only problem was the rest of my party arrived late to the reservations, so we ALL had to wait for everyone in order to be seated. This made our reservations pointless as we had to wait after the rest of our party finally did arrive. Our party had 10 people so we all got to sit around the grill without any other strangers at our table, which is not a bad thing, but some people are weird about that. I ordered the steak(medium) and shrimp dish, which is accompanied by a delicious soup, and I believe a small salad. You also get the choice of white, or fried rice. I opted for the fried rice and it was not only delicious but entertaining to see the chef make it. He does somewhat of a circus/juggling act with the eggs. The little ones got a kick out of it, especially the volcano trick. This place is great for families to come hangout. However, they are not very«baby friendly,» as they don’t have changing tables in the restroom. Overall, our experience was pleasant. The food was delicious, the staff was very nice, and we were all entertained. Looking forward to my next visit!
