A while back I came to Hide-a-While with two friends, and we actually had a decent time until Taryn the bartender told a very drunk and rude cholo that the girl with us stole his cellphone. There was a huge confrontation and I had to jump in between people almost fighting multiple times. Funny part of it all? It turns out the drunk douche dropped his cheapo flip-phone outside, right in front of the bar. Who goes back to a place where the bartender starts fights between the customers? The only way I would ever come back is if Taryn got fired or quit.

How is this place still in business? I’m all for success for anyone but I believe it starts with customer service. Hide-A-While definitely lives up to its name, they should go hide for a while. By far one the worst dive-in bars in the lovely city of Rancho Cucamonga. Customer service is very poor and lacks to its full potential, and I feel sorry for any first timers since all the attention is served to the regulars by the snouty-arrogant-drunk bartenders. There is no sense of professionalism whatsoever or warm welcoming to any new comers. Definitely not over priced. But Prices are not worth what they serve. Glasses were somewhat dirty. Bar was wet. Mixed drink Cups were way too small. Floor was a little filthy. The restrooms were a little filthy. Could use some maintenance. Definitely think and recommend anyone to wear a face mask if you wanna be able to breath in there. Lots of smokers who hang out by the door give it a bad vibe as you enter this small bar. Women to Men ratio is 1 out 7. Loud-ear-bleeding Music is played out of a boom box it seems like. Didn’t pay too much attention to that since I was watching my shoulder constantly. Ladies don’t go their without a male, better yet don’t recommend you to waste your time there. My lady friends who I went there with told me never to bring them back there. Most males and females who are there are like vultures on a dead carcass. Honestly very bitchy old ladies, you would think they would be nicer since they more mature but Hell no. Management needs to grow and flip this place from what it is. It has potential. But Warning, Do not leave anything unattended because there are pockets pickers in there. Call them out and the regulars cover each other including the sketchy bartenders. I’ve witnessed it with my own eyes. Very sketchy place was my first impression. Plan ahead and look for a better spot, where the love all around the bar is shared, there are plenty in the area. Good luck.

It’s mostly a locals dive bar, a friend lived in the area so we met up to catch up and ended up here for drinks. It’s a pretty shady area at night, but during the day it seems alright. It seems like the place where they have regulars go to. Everyone seems to know most of who everyone is. There’s no smoking indoors, so they have a back patio area where you can go to smoke and come back inside. They have one billiards table and a juke box for entertainment. The drinks were decently priced and the atmosphere was pretty welcoming when I went. Overall it was alright.

This is the coolest bar in Rancho! I’ve been coming here for years and never had a problem. I have found it a blast EVERY time I go! Bathrooms are always clean, bar top is always clean, bartenders are friendly, though I sorely miss the bartenders Holly and Melissa. As a regular, I find it great to see familiar faces and new ones that come in. Its a melting pot of people here from all walks of life, nationalities and ages! Forget the«redneck bar» «non white» crap, spewing from negative sour pusses! Coming from a non white, this place is a blast, through the week, and on weekends! Plus you wont walk out smelling like an ashtray like the other neighborhood bars!

A classic dive bar! Bartenders are by far the best looking dive bartenders in the city. Regulars are friendly, great times during karaōke on the weekends with a huge selection of songs. Drinks are cheap… my favorite place to hide out.

My friend and I were in search of a bar one Sunday night. We had cruised around rancho and all our regular places were closed, and we wanted to be spontaneous and find something new. We were driving towards on Archibald, when I remembered that I had seen a bar near the 24hr autozone that we frequent, so we turned into the parking lot, and voila, shiny new bar Well, maybe not shiny, and maybe not new, but to us it was. It looked exactly what a five bar should look like, a little sketch on the outside with a small sign and a metal door, barely enough to indicate it’s existence. We excitedly walked in, and saw a few people in there. There was one bartender to about 8 people, maybe 10. We sat down, and we waited a bit before she gave us her attention. We ordered our first round, and we conversed a bit. It was a bit awkward because you could tell most of the people were regulars. There was a guy that kept staring us down, but he looked too drunk to really do any harm. One of the girls started yelling about how non whites need to go back to where they came from, and as I looked around, I realized that I was the only non white person in the bar. The so we finished our 2nd round quickly and left. The wait was long, but the drinks were made pretty well, the bartender was nice when she would give us her attention. I guess it wasnt too horrible for a dive bar.

I have lived in Rancho and 2 minutes walking distance from this hole and I still go elsewhere, has been and always will be a crap hole, this place gives dive a new low terrible service and the prices are not as good as other reviewers claim, you can go elsewhere close for the same or much lower prices

I fully admit that although I use Unilocal on an almost daily basis, I rarely if ever write reviews. but after my truly horrific experience at this bar I felt compelled to confirm that yes, this might be the worst dive bar ever. I came in here with a group of friends to watch some football, there were maybe 4 regulars sitting morosely at the bar and one surly, female bar tender who immediately hated us the second we walked in. We all wanted some drinks, but only I manged to get a beer dropped in front of me as she scurried back to her friends to glare at us from the other side of the room. Every one of us looked at each other incredulously. There was no way in the 10 minutes we’d been in the bar we could have done anything to piss her off that bad. I’ve actually never seen anything like it. Now, let me tell you — we are fun but we are not bad people. That bar tab would have been several hundred dollars and her tip would have been hefty. It’s the owners and HER loss to be honest. Just to screw with her when I paid for my beer I tipped her double the tab.(To give her an idea of what she would have gotten had she not had such a gigantic stick up her ass.) We took our business elsewhere and had a very pleasurable day. Oh and yes, we had a sober driver who wasn’t even able to get a water out of this girl. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

Went here on a Football Sunday to have some cocktails, watch the play off games and listen to some music. We infrequently go to dive bars but usually enjoy them when we do. My friends and I were prepared to have a big tab and tip very well(as we always do for good service, being we have been in the service industry and liquor industry) but the bartender there was a complete bitch to us. Not only did she ignore us but she made it very clear we were not welcome, she was catering to her regulars and never glanced our way. It was in no means busy.(We know why now!) I guess you have to be a regular at this establishment to get good friendly service. Sorry, were not bar slums that are in a dive bar everyday, I hope that bartender makes great tips off her regulars because we will NEVER be back.

Never really has been the same since the son took over but still a cool dive bar to shoot some pool and hang out with the locals. The karaōke girl is hot and she runs a good show. Place can get crazy sometimes but worth the trip once in a while

I enjoyed this bar so much… I bought ever one at the bar a drink… there were 8 – 10 people, $ 2.50 a bottle. Bartenders very friendly as well as the customers sitting at the bar… reason for buying the house a round! I will be making this bar a regular place to stop in on my scenic route home. Oh and the best part is the old school football helmet art(drawings) work on the walls!

I went to hide a while for karaōke last night and it was so fun! The song selection is up to date and includes every artist from every decade and genre. The karaōke system is one of the best I’ve ever used. It isn’t so loud that it overpowers the singer like I’ve experienced at other places. The bartender and karaōke emcee were both very nice and brought the party. The crowd was very diverse: all ages and ethnicities mingling and getting to know one another. I had an amazing time at hide a while and will be coming back regularly!

Stopped in during the week during the middle of a workday to have a drink since it was my day off. It was OK. The bartender was friendly and they have a good box. I put on some Slipknot and I the old people at the bar looked as if they were going to have a coronary right then and there. ITS A BARPEOPLE!!! PROS: Good box, clean restrooms, nice bartender. CONS: Expensive drinks, old people giving me dirty looks.

Cool, cool, cool, fun, fun, fun! Laid back, close by, very friendly crowd of all colors collaborating, singing and drinking together. Wow haven’t had this much fun in a long time. They play everything and I mean everything,(free style, oldies, hip hop, 80’s, rock and country). Its not glamorous, no dance floor its just simply good olé fashion bar fun, karaōke(the crowd cheers you on) and dancing in place at the bar or go ahead and do line dancing around the bar like me if you have enough drinks. I had a mini hangover the next day to the point where I was nauseas at IHOP in the morning so it had to be good lol will def be back!

I went there both Friday and Saturday night. It was so much fun we decided to go back. The drinks are cheap, there is smoke in the place which really didn’t bother the group I went with since we smoke. Karaōke was good. Good list of songs. I would def. go back to this place. Note: I left my brown hoodie there on sat night and when my girlfriend went back Monday to see if it was there, it wasn’t. I’m not too happy about that. It was like one of the pieces of clothing that you love and never want to loose. If anyone here has it, please let me know I would love to get it back. Brown hoodie with fur inside.
