Always slow service. Ordered the quarter meat plate with chopped brisket which had almost an ounce of fat out of the four ounces, I think. Free soft serve ice cream is a plus, but not enough to keep me coming back.

The best reasonably priced fast food bbq around! I’ve never had a bad meal at this location. The employees are always nice and it’s clean in here.

I went back to Dickey’s today to chat with Mike. While Mike was unavailable, Derrick asked if there was anything he could do to help me. I explained the situation, and he assured me he had been informed of the situation and would take care of the situation. And he was true to his word. The brisket smelted in my mouth, the sides were excellent, and the order was complete. It shows that Dickey’s can do it right. And I appreciate their customer concern and service. Color me impressed. 5 stars earned.

I personally feel no need to go back to Dickey’s anytime soon — it wasn’t great, wasn’t awful, just alright. My boyfriend and I placed an online order for pick-up around 6PM on a Sunday evening(4⁄10), thinking we’d try something outside of our usual for dinner. He ordered a westerner and I ordered a big bbq sandwich, however we think they made a mistake on my sandwich. When we got there to pick up our food, we couldn’t believe how SMALL my sandwich was. We added a side of coleslaw to our order so I’d have a little more food, but later we got to thinking that they actually gave me a hoagie instead of a regular sandwich — I mean really, the thing was the size of my fist and I have tiny hands. The employees also seemed kind of awkward when we were there? We were greeted upon arrival but the girl who rang up our order didn’t say much to us and had to ask the people along the counter where our order receipt was so we could be rung up. They just seemed a little disorganized, despite the fact that there was nobody in the drive-thru and it was almost empty inside. The food did taste pretty good though! The meat was cooked well and their regular bbq sauce was tasty. The coleslaw was nothing to celebrate — it was bland and I think I can get better slaw from a grocery store deli. Like I said, it was worth a try but I see no reason to go back.

I really enjoy the chopped brisket but when I come to this spot they chop the meat into mush it ruins the whole meal The only way to get what you want is to lean over the counter and nagging at them through the process

My husband and I visited Dickeys BBQ today at around 3pm. Let me just say that the staff working during this time provided AMAZING customer service! It was our first time and the guy taking our order explained the menu to us and what they offered. He was extremely helpful, and you can tell he had a very outgoing personality. As my husband and I were dining in, a man and his son walked in… All the sudden I hear the worker(as mentioned above) greet the guy by his first name and the lady(also an employee) saying hello to his son and asking how his day was. On top of that they instantly knew the customer and his son’s order by heart. Simply amazing… I can’t remember the last time such great customer service stood out to me. As I read previous reviews, the food was awesome and the portions were more than enough. I had the rib plate which came with 4 ribs and the sides I chose were potato salad and bbq baked beans. I even had left over to bring home! I highly recommend Dickeys BBQ! Food AND service was awesome. If the employees read these Unilocal reviews, THANKYOU for providing such perfect customer service.

The last time I visited this restaurant I observed a man who came out of the drive thru furious at the person who is operating the drive thru window person who was the worker operating the window turned out to be the manager and apparently was giving the customer a bad time in the drive thru window while he was simply just placing an order … my second experience at this restaurant I found that the same manager has indicated that he is disregarding the California gift card law and they don’t feel that they should be in compliance with the law I don’t think I will return to this Dickies location I’d rather go to the Folsom location where the staff is much more friendly and the manager at least knows how to operate the cash machine.

You know you‘ve found a good bbq place when you can taste the smoked wood flavor in the meat! The brisket and pulled pork is great! They offer 3 different sauces(original, sweet and spicy) and the original has the perfect amount of kick to it, the spicy is full of flavor and wont burn you mouth(out of sweet during my visit, bummer). The mac &cheese, coleslaw, bbq beans and baked potatoe casserole(like loaded mashed potatoes) all resembled homemade and were tasty. The potato salad wasn‘t my fave(but wasn‘t horrible). All meals are pretty pricey but you get what you pay for and to make you feel a little bit better about the small fortune you spent, they do give you the opportunity to get a free ice cream cone when you are done with your meal. They cater too and the prices seems decent!

Decided to try this place the other day for the first time. We went through the drive through and I felt that the person who helped us was a little pushy and in a hurry. Everything we ordered, he said is that all afterwards, we just felt very rushed. My fiancé and I got the two meat plate, which came with two sides. I had the chicken and Italian sausage. Both were very good, but the portions are small for what you pay. The two sides I got with my meal were the mac and cheese, and the waffle iron fries. The mac and cheese was a such a small portion. and the fries were undercooked. Overall the food was good, the bbq sauce a little too spicy for my liking. I think its a little over priced, and the portions should be larger.

Three stars for so-so food and better service. We stopped by during a business trip because… I’m not even sure. I ordered the one meat combo meal thing and got the sliced beef brisket, along with the creamed spinach and baked mashed potatoes. The food, as my previous experience at another restaurant, was just so-so. They serve you a ring of raw white onion and three small pickle slices. It’s not funny or even insulting; it’s just beyond cheap. I would give them two stars but the staff was nice. I can’t hold the company line against them. I’d only go back I’d I had to but see no reason that it’ll be any better. Thanks.

Wanted to update this review, since this review, the manager from Dickey’s has come through with his promise. He reached out to me and dropped off the coupons as he stated he would, it also looks like the post office had some issues on their side with the delivery of these. Thank you Dickey’s. I still wish that your corporate office wouldn’t skip on the servings or the bacon in the green beans. :) Very disappointed.. I ordered and had catered for an office team lunch. Food arrived on time, but WITHOUTBBQ sauce or condiments. We called immediately and an hour later the BBQ sauce was delivered. So frustrating. I emailed and received a phone call apologizing, that we would receive some coupons.. Nothing ever arrived. :(won’t be ordering from them again. :(

Tell you what. If you’re on a diet, this is the place to come. The portions are so small that you won’t gain weight, and the meat is so dry that you don’t want to eat that much of it anyway. I love brisket. I ordered brisket. It’s rare that a place around here gets brisket right. This place is no exception. It wasn’t horrible, but it was marginal, and three more of what they give you would have made a meal. The sides? How much can you pack in to a margarine tub? Way overpriced for what it is. Seriously, go to the grocery store and get their packaged precooked ribs and a salad mix for the cold section and pop it in the microwave. It will taste the same and be a third of the cost. EDIT: I recently had some catered brisket and chicken from Dickey’s. I actually thought both were pretty good. The brisket wasn’t dry this time. I don’t know that I can really change my bottom line opinion of the restaurant itself because you just don’t get enough to be worthwhile unless you buy it in bulk. I still think it’s pricey for what it is, but I might be willing to give it another shot at some point.

I have eaten at Dickey’s all over CA and several places in Texas and I have to say this is by FAR the worst I’ve ever eaten. I have given them several chances because it is on my way home from work and they have sucked every time but one. Tonight was the last straw. I ordered the 2 meat plate at the drive thru, brisket and ribs. I didn’t ask them to chop the brisket but they did. When I got home and opened the container there were 2 of the smallest ribs I’ve ever seen with no meat on them. Seriously it was all bone and burnt crusty stuff. The brisket was chopped and there wasn’t even a half cup of meat. This place sucks so don’t waste your money.

Went there at 7pm last night and shared a 3 Meat place with my Fiancé. We got the spicy cheddar sausage, pulled pork, and beef brisket. And Mac n cheese! The mac n cheese is always good. But we woke up in the middle of the night with some seriously bad food poisoning. DONOTGOTOTHISLOCATION!!! The meat was dry and tasted funny… And now we are sick in bed puking our guts out!!!

This is got to be the worse location. Meats cold, dry, Mac & cheese soupy cold. We are fans but will make the drive to Folsom On the bright note the staff I’d friendly and get the food out quick. BTW this was a 2nd chance the first time they were new but yep nothing got better.

Dickey’s is great! Last month we had a Western themed party with about 40 guests. I emailed three BBQ places to quote meat only. We chose Dickey’s because they responded quickly, their pricing was was good and they are closest to our house. We ordered brisket, chicken and pulled pork. Everyone loved it and we had more than enough left over to feed 5 people brunch the next day. The only downside was that they would only deliver a full meal order so we had to pick it up. Their food was good enough to make up for it though so they are still worth 5 stars. Will use them again and next time I’ll order at least one side. As an unexpected bonus, they provided paper goods and cutlery. Highly recommend Dickey’s!

We got a wild hair for BBQ at 8:45 on a Thursday night. So we jumped in the car & made it in 10 minutes. We ordered one of those platters that serves 6 – 8 people. The meat was tasty, the sides were decent, and they gave us plates & cutlery for us all. BTW they were gracious and didnt freak out when we all walked in. So i would give 5 stars except that the restaurant was kind of dirty with napkins and trash strewn around. Like they just had a hundred people all eat & leave at the same time. We ordered the tri-tip, pork, and mild sausage. Decent portions. And we got the coleslaw, green beans, french fries and mac n cheese. My kids loved the mac n cheese. And everyone got as much as they wanted with stuff for leftovers. It was $ 57 but a decent deal. All in all a decent dining experience. Maybe next time we’ll get there in time to eat there instead of take out.

This Dickey’s is apparently new, although I’m not sure when they quite opened. The staff there seem a little disorganized like they opened just recently. I ordered the smokehouse salad which I usually love. They were really stingy on the ingredients(meat and onion tanglers). Overall, I was pretty disappointed. The guy working the register acted like he didn’t want to be there. I won’t be visiting this Dickey’s again.

When they say«Lil Hoagie» they mean little, 3″ if that, very little meat. No flavor in the meat. Glad they gave me plenty of sauce. The fried okra and service is the only reason they got 2 stars. Lil Hoagie, two sides and a drink. $ 12.00
