This super adorable wine bar has more than just wine(hint: $ 4 wells during Happy Hour.) Definitely a pleasant surprise in the 4S area — where it seems like mega chains are one of the only options(not that I mind being«forced» to drink Karl Strauss beer.) We sat at the bar so that we could partake in their Happy Hour offerings, the lounge area seemed comfy as well. Sangria was good, but not quite $ 6/glass on special good — there was something… gritty? in it that was off putting. The spicy marinara that comes with the calamari is fantastic, probably the highlight of the meal. I wish the calamari had come with tentacles though — it was just the rounds and I don’t like those as much. We also tried the margharita flat bread, and were disappointed with the sauce on that. If we order again, we’ll probably ask for the spicy marinara so that the flat bread has some actual flavor. The spinach dip was good, but they serve it with a measly 4 crostini(which aren’t even warm when delivered to you) so we had to ask for more several times. That being said, service was prompt and attentive. Thursday and Friday evenings feature live music, which is lovely — just try to get a seat away from the«stage» so you can continue to talk as you enjoy the ambiance. Overall, I will return, but make some modifications to my order so that I can have a more pleasant experience.

Capri Blu was okay. The food was good but didn’t feel it reflected it’s $ 20+ per plate price tag. We had a «buy one, get one free dinner» coupon which I thought would be a great deal. What’s misleading on the coupon is that it has a max value of $ 16. This misleads you into think dinner prices would be around this price but they weren’t. Everything is priced $ 20 and above. So in reality, it wasn’t a «buy one, get one free dinner» coupon. No biggie but like I said before, I don’t feel the quality of food reflects such high prices. I don’t think I’ll be back. I like Villa Capri a lot more and is much better priced which is funny because Villa Capri and Capri Blu I believe has the same owner. Capri Blue for some reason is a little bit more inflated.

Very good service My husband’s filet mignon was sublime with the sauce and sautéed Mushrooms. He was less thrilled with his wine – a Bordeaux. Just okay He was ecstatic Over his decaf cappuccino Wonderful mashed potatoes My salmon was expertly cooked, but a touch bland Crème brûlée lovely There’s a bar, plus a very inviting happy hour type area. Comfy Looking couches With low coffee Tables facing 3 large flatscreens I do wish they would not use styrofoam for the doggie bags. Bad for the environment and bad for your health(if you microwave it).

We went to this restaurant on December 30th to celebrate a birthday. I’m generally not one to write reviews — good or bad — but this needs to be said. The bread basket was delivered to the table and I reached in and felt something sticky. Confused, I looked in. Gum! A chewed up piece of someone’s gum was stuck to the paper napkin in the basket. Disgusting! The person-in-charge(a man at the front, unclear if he was a manager or owner?) came over and said«Sorry, there’s nothing I can do about that.» Really? (Dear Health Dept — what this means is they reuse the napkins from the bread baskets over and over, and at some point, a disgusting guest placed their saliva soaked used gum in the napkin.) It was an important birthday and so we all tried to laugh it off, but it was not funny. I got up and washed my hands thoroughly. But frankly, I didn’t eat much after that. At the end of the meal, the person-in-charge gave us 4 shots of Port wine. This was the restaurant’s response to this truly unappetizing, repulsive dining experience. Ridiculous, really. We will never return. With this kind of unhealthy carelessness I can’t imagine what they do in the kitchen.

Really was pleasantly surprised! Charming and patient sercice. Very accommodating and helpful. The sangria is delicious! Best I’ve had! Not too sweet with nice flavor of cinnamon. The eggplant appetizer(like eggplant parm) is delicious! So perfectly done we ordered two! The caprese was okay– nothing special. The veal piccata was good– not great but nice. Got fettuccine instead of potatoes and the pasta was excellent! All in all comfortable and great food! I would come back :)

This place was absolutely fantastic from beginning to end. As soon as we arrived, we were welcomed with a warm greeting from the people at the hostess stand. Fortunately we had reservations(it was absolutely packed for Christmas Eve) so we were seated right away. The waiter was very friendly, knew all of the specials, and was clearly very familiar with the menu. He checked on us the perfect amount of times throughout the evening – enough to keep us happy, but without making us feel like he was trying to rush us out of the restaurant. I seriously have no idea how he managed to be as attentive as he was with a packed restaurant. I ordered the fettuccine alla fra’diavola(and probably butchered its pronunciation). It’s basically fettuccine in a spicy tomato sauce, topped with jumbo shrimp. It was amazing. If I could only eat one food ever again… It would quite possibly be this. Try it. For dessert I had the tiramisu, which was also very good. Good food, good service, plenty of parking, you get the picture. It may be in a shopping center, but it’s actually a very nice restaurant.

A solid place to meet your girlfriends for happy hour in the lounge. Lots of seating. Even some couches with a big-screen TV, I assume for watching sports. lol. Well drinks were a shocking $ 3.50 and were not watered down as you might imagine. Pitcher of sangria was OK for $ 22, but didn’t rock my world. I think I’d skip it next time. Snacks were semi-solid. Sliders were skimpy and not high quality. Artichoke dip was tasty. Calamari was so/so. All in all, a good place to chat and have some inexpensive food to go along with it. Happy Hour until 7pm.

Went here with my girlfriend and her family. It was a fantastic meal and the ambience was fun(they had live entertainment). I had the vodka sauce pasta and it was great. Will most certainly come back.

Absolutely marvelous. We are there to celebrate a mid-week wedding anniversary. We didn’t indicate it was a celebration but upon entering one of the staff noticed my husband holding a greeting card and asked if it was a birthday… From that moment on we were treated wonderfully. They brought us some Prosecco to toast the day… and dessert with candles. We enjoyed a delicious artichoke appetizer and my husband had the best lasagna«he has ever had». And the pomegranate martini was great too! Thank you to everyone at Capri Blu who wished a well … and gave us a very fun experience!

Capri Blu is a small little Italian wine bar restaurant that I use to venture to for happy hours or weekend night drinks. This is located in the 4S Commons Town Center in the area of 4S Ranch in Rancho Bernardo. I previously came here six years ago and every so often here and there as I also knew two people whom used to work here as a server/bartender. From what I remember I loved the food, drinks, and ambiance. The décor is very modern and the restaurant is clean. Tonight we had a cozy empty section that had spacious leather couch seating and two huge front screen TV’s perfect for Monday Night Football :)) –Wide variety of food options –Great deals for happy hour daily 4−7pm and all day Sundays –Service: is alright –Recent Order: 1) Garlic fries 2) Fried Artichokes with garlic aioli 3) Margherita Pizza *DRINK: Sangria Pitcher Overall, the *Sangria* was pretty good and plenty for having lots of ice! We customized ours as we did not want it too sweet and we could definitely taste hints of cinnamon and nutmeg as that was a little stronger in it. As for the fried artichokes it was delicious and there were seven pieces, so about a dollar a pop. And then the item I would recommend the most is the Margherita Pizza! The pizza tasted light, amazing, crisp, and tasty! It was deliciously clean and fresh.~ The server wasn’t around much and neglected us I would say. We started off with a girl, then they changed without a warm transfer then we had a guy at the end. It seemed as we were waiting foreverrr when waiting to add a last order of fries as a nibbler at the end when we were out of food, with still much sangria to drink. We were hanging out and again waiting for awhile when we were done and the sangria was empty as we wanted the bill as I think they gave us space or forgot about us. They checked up on us here and there, but it could have been better! This a a nice option for locals when wanting to switch it up from the local Karl Strauss and Miguel’s Cocina.~

I know a 3 star can kill a business. I wish I could give a 5 star on service alone. We have excellent service here– but the food leaves a bit to be desired. Drinks are fabulous, ambience is very nice as well. I love booths and I love sitting in the bar to dine(shocker). The bar here is open and airy with great available seating. Their bread served after ordering is divine. My suggestion is to leave olive oil and balsamic on the tables– because many prefer this to marinara. The artichoke appetizer that I photographed is one of the best things on the menu to start with. Innovative and fresh– full of flavor. Their entrees are lacking in presentation and consistency. Sometimes the salmon is bright and plump and fresh– and other times it seems to have been tugged out of a dark corner of the net and over cooked. Salads are great– fresh greens and beautiful fresh pearl tomatoes. Martinis are excellent, served with a layer of ice and plenty of olives. Great place for lunch, haven’t been for dinner but they have great specials. Rumor is this is somewhat of a cougar destination. What’s a cougar?

This was our second visit. Our first visit last year was lovely and we enjoyed it very much. On this visit. We arrived after 6:30pm on a sat night. When we first walked in, they asked if we had a reservation. We did not. Our party was 7 including a baby. They said they would see what they could do. One of the gentleman in the front was very accommodating and was able to find us a table within 5 minutes. While we were waiting for our table, I observed other people coming in and everyone was asked about a reservation. Perhaps this really is a very busy night for them, although when we were shown to our table, I did notice that 2 other tables near us sat empty. Either we were lucky or they are trying to cultivate a certain atmosphere and clientele. As for the restaurants décor, it certainly is very sleek and very modern. We appreciated the air conditioning very much since there’s been a heat wave the entire week. Since it appears somewhat expensive, I always hesitate because of my 2 kiddies, one a baby. Babies have been known to ruin a nice night out at a restaurant… Esp when we are talking about being out after 7 pm. But we were lucky once again tonight… Don’t be fooled by the people dressed up for the evening. They did not blink at me in my workout clothes and my husband and his brother in their old and ratty t-shirts. As for the food, some of it was a hit, some a miss. There was a particular seafood pasta dish that was quite good. But the chicken Capri blu was a disappointment. Chicken was dry, not a fan of the mash potatoes(has an odd taste and texture). The pecorino pizza was good, much better than delivery pizza. The bread was warm, the marinara was good, but I remember it being better the last time I was here. The wait staff was attentive. Both times though our waiters appear a bit stuffy to me. Would have been nice if they would offer a smile. We used a coupon.

Came here for an early dinner. We were in the area. This restaurant is located in 4S Ranch area which is one exit away from Westfield North County mall. As we walked in, we were greeted by a friendly hostess who seated us at a booth. When I saw the table setting, I was thinking fancy! There were wine glasses and water glasses on the table. Nice! I had to make sure my daughter was on her best behavior because we were at a fancy restaurant. LOL! The waiter pours us some iced water which was fine with me. I order my daughter cheese pizza first. They also gave her a small cup of iced water. They start cooking the pizza, and a few minutes later takes our order. I ordered the salmon which comes with mashed potatoes and string beans. Hubby gets spaghetti and meatballs. My daughter didn’t care for her pizza. There must be something in it she didn’t care for. She said it was spicy. However, I enjoyed my salmon. It had a lemony sauce with onions and capers. The string beans were cooked well and mashed potatoes were perfect. Great food. My daughter ended up just eating the bread they served us and gave us a refill of the bread. The cheese pizza had some garlic and spices since she didn’t like her pizza. Took it home anyway. The waiter was super nice and made sure our drinks were refilled. At the end, he asked us if we wanted dessert, but we were already full. This place is pretty pricey but we had a coupon which saved us some money. They also have happy hour drinks. Pretty descent place.

So while staying at The Reserves this place was perfect for walking to dinner. Always a friendly smile from the manager when I arrived and seated rather quickly. I felt bad at times taking a booth just for myself but they always waved my concern off. I loved their lasagna! It was filled with plenty of cheesy goodness, and being from the Midwest I know my cheese. Also loved the ½ priced bottle of wine nights, and since I was walking could really enjoy it. What I didn’t finish they corked up for me to take home. Also found that the happy hour bar menu pricing is all day Sunday. The meat pizza was very yummy with a pomegranate martini less the $ 15 for the total bill. My next visit here will be as part of a painting class, so looking forward to a nice glass of wine while creating a work of art for my office.

Came here for brunch. The host/waiter was very friendly. They have $ 1 bottomless mimosas! But we didn’t take advantage of it. I ordered the breakfast pizza and while it wasn’t bad, it wasn’t amazing either. It was rather bland, which is good for those who need to watch their salt intake, I suppose. Also, more on the dry side. My fiancé got the crab cake benedict and he enjoyed it. It was also pretty dead at 1145/12noon for brunch. Might come try dinner at some point.

Hard to give a bad review when you go in groups with the owner. I can say I get wonderful treatment when I am with others also. I’ve read the bad reviews and have never had those same experiences. The bartender is great, always willing to let you taste a couple wines before you decide. Great music, they are even holding paint nights on the patio which is my thing and fantastic. The food is amazing. Fresh and usually a few different fish dishes to choose from. The pasta is nice, I love the eggplant app wrapped with ricotta and the tomato sauce is wonderful. The ambiance is great, restaurant clean, servers everywhere. Water filled. Bread brought. The desserts are decadent. Chocolate gnache is rich and order with ice cream. Bread pudding, and tarts. Just a great assortment. Lots of wine to choose from. A range of price points. The prices are or can be reasonable but still on the higher side. Not exactly close to me, so I have to make it a point to go out there.

This is the second attempt at eating at this restaurant; first time was closed, and this time it was super packed. We were excited that this place had drawn such a large crowd, and was eager to see what all the rage was about. There was live entertainment, and we were sat right next to the guitarist. Personally, for me, it was a bit on the loud side. The menu was simple, which I appreciate. So here’s where things start taking a left turn: –They brought out bread-sticks that were warm, but with really freaking cold marinara dipping sauce. Please, stop. –My friend ordered the lasagna and the lasagna noodles were soggy. –My husband ordered the Fettuccine a la Bolognese and the Bolognese sauce was not very good… He said it was like dumping greasy Hamburger Helper ontop of some fettuccine noodles, and I have to agree. I tried some. When we paid our bill, we paid with cash($ 20) and card(the remainder amount). She brought back the bill with a $ 20 bill broken up into smaller denominations and charged the full amount onto the card. Clearly, she didn’t understand, so my next question is: why wouldn’t she just ask if she was confused? Atmosphere felt NOTHING like an Italian restaurant, it was more like a bar that happens to serve«Italian» food. Also, I’d like to add: Not every Italian restaurant needs to be that stereo-typical cobblestone and wine barrels everywhere setting, but if you’re going to deviate from a setting that so many people are used to seeing when they go to an «Italian» restaurant, the space should(at minimum) feel warm, inviting, and maybe have some softness to it. The guitarist playing extra loud Santana songs and the drunk people shaking their booties and screaming«OMG!» next to us didn’t really make me feel like I was in an Italian restaurant. I’m sure it’s a different atmosphere at slower times of the day, but to tell you the truth, I probably won’t be coming back.

There’s been a change in management here recently, and I don’t know how I feel about it. The food is decent, but the calamari is probably my favorite appetizer. Also, drinks are good(elderflower martini is a favorite!). While sitting in the bar with my friend, it took at least 15 minutes for us to get glasses of water… and another 10 to catch the waiters attention again. Not sure how they could be ignoring the only two younger females in the bar area, but we were constantly trying to catch waiters to place our order. I like the complimentary bread they have here, make sure you request some if they don’t offer it to you. Everything here is a little overpriced for what it is, and I’d definitely be more likely to come back if the prices were lower.

We came here for dinner on a Friday night. This restaurant is located in the 4s shopping center next to Gepettos and Panera Bread. Parking is ample, which is great! Walked in and the bar and restaurant is packed! We had a table in the room next to the bar area. There is a live jazz musician that played cover songs, but if you’re here for a date, forget the conversation. You seriously cannot hold convos here without shouting! However, if you’re here for good meal and to listen to some pretty decent jazz music, then this is a good place to do it! We ordered our drinks and I ordered the split bottle of prosecco($ 8), and this gave me 2 glasses! I was happy!!! We were offered bread and marinara sauce to start off with. We ordered the polenta and mussel appys. The polenta could have been cooked more to give it a nice crisp, otherwise, it was just OK. The mussels had good flavor and great to dip your bread into the sauce. I ordered the Veal with the butter, lemon and caper sauce. I had 3 thinly sliced Veal pieces with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans. I thought the veal and sauce went really well together. The mashed potatoes and green beans were OK. Nothing special. The green beans were too soggy for me. If you get a change to swap it with something else, I would do so. I also tried the pasta with seafood sauce. It was a special that was not offered on the menu. The pasta was really tasty and I enjoyed the rich sauce. For dessert, we were with the vulcano. Basically, it’s a warm molten rich and dense cake with raspberry sauce. Super rich and very decadent, but very delicious!!! Definitely the highlight of my dinner. Service was friendly and cordial. The guy who served us was new, and only had worked there for a week, so he wasn’t familiar with some of the questions we asked. I really like the layout of this restaurant. It’s pretty spacious! There are lounge couches in the back area with big screen TVs mounted and there’s a patio section in back. Bathrooms are also located in the back area and were very clean and modern.
