Videri Chocolate Factory

Videri is very delightful. It’s evil because it’s so heavenly. I had a meeting there last Tuesday morning. It was tough to concentrate with all those glorious chocolate smells surrounding me!
When you first enter, there is a chocolate bar to the right, with all the chocolate bars, etc. I tasted a few and then moved away quickly because I knew I’d want it all! Plenty of tables strewn about in the open room. In the back to the left is a coffee bar. Thankfully, they have hot tea and frozen hot chocolate for folks like me who aren’t coffee consumers. The frozen hot chocolate was divine!
There is also a patio and you can go explore the factory to see how all the chocolates are produced. Parking is adjacent in a private lot or on the street. Videri Chocolate Factory is definitely worth checking out!

I really thought this was a cool place. We have nothing like this in Cleveland.
I thought it was really cool how they have each step in the process of making chocolate on display for everyone to watch. The coolest was seeing the girl sort the chocolate beans.
Needless to say the chocolate was amazing!

Wow, what a fun little place! My boyfriend and I went by this past Friday and absolutely loved what we got. I had the Milk Dark bar (yes, it’s the best of both worlds) and he had 2 of the truffles. All were equally great!
The atmosphere is very modern and open, which is what I love! Also, you can BYOB (or wine) and make a «dessert date» out of it. There is an espresso bar inside; however, there is no food or alcohol on site.
I would highly recommend this chocolate factory to everybody, no matter your age!

Fun place to spend an hour, looking at how they create chocolates, history of some, and sample some. :) Very small but definitely still a nice place to meet for coffee or a small dessert.

What a fun little place! I stopped by at a suggestion from a local. They have a nice little store front with their truffles and chocolate bars to purchase, as well as a small coffee stand with hot cocoa, coffee, and pastries.
The coolest part is the view into the factory! They have a small viewing area with chocolate fact displays and Windows to see how your chocolate is being made. Very cool and something different to do in the area.
Of course, sample the chocolate. The sea salt bar is to die for — I went home with a handful of those and a hot chocolate to go. Yum!

Worth a visit if you’re in this part of Raleigh. Watching the workers in the back was fun, their attention to detail was amazing. We brought home some of their chocolate with sea salt which was pretty good but soooo $$$$.

Dan & I decided to check out the Videri Chocolate Factory on a Saturday evening. Dan is a chocolate lover so I figured he would love it. We bought a small box of chocolates, 6 pieces, to the tune of $ 17.25. I remember thinking it better be the best thing I ever put in my mouth, especially since the pieces were tiny! Like the size of a nickel. I had a spicy cherry flavor that was fantastic (but not worth $ 2.75 per nickel sized piece!) The salted caramel flavor was good too. I wasn’t a fan of the lavender. Dan liked the martini something or other flavor that he had the best. I’m not a big chocolate fan so it’s unlikely I will return to spend that much on chocolate again.

Videri Chocolate Factory is amazing. Small but great! I’ve never been to a chocolate factory. I’m not even sure what is considered a chocolate factory. But Videri makes their chocolate in house.
If you go all the way to the back you can see fun facts on the wall that highlight the processes of chocolate and how it’s made. There are viewing windows to watch their mater chocolate makers do their thing.
I ordered a frozen hot chocolate and a mocha. By far the best frozen hot chocolate I’ve ever had. Their mocha was alright. Not bad but if you’re a coffee person, you’ll know what I mean. There was a lot of people, but they were able to get my drinks out in a timely manner.
I also bought a bar of sea salt chocolate. Very delicious. You can also taste test their chocolate at their chocolate bar! Hurry up and get there early before their supply runs out!
I love this place, I’ll def come back if I’m ever in the area. Oh! They also take Apple pay!

There are some tasty chocolates here… AND…if you’re a mocha fan, THIS is THE SPOT you should go for a good mocha! So many places have overly sweet, empty feeling mochas, but not here: it was rich, full of dark chocolaty flavor, simply delicious. Seriously. My husband has been here before and just had a coffee and it was ‘fine’ by all measures, but he had a mocha (not his usual coffee drink) and was an instant fan! I love a good mocha as a treat, and love dark chocolate and found the mocha to be quite good. Well done, baristas!
So, yes, you can get chocolate here too. You can also go on a self-​guided tour of the compact chocolate making facility and see/​read the history of chocolate making and watch some of the process through glass windows (there is a little step stool/​bench for shorter visitors (kiddos!) too!).
The chocolates are all very rich (yay!) and they do a really good job incorporating the different flavors into the truffles. And, they’re really pretty too: shiny, nice swirly designs, etc. The berry ones were probably my favorites (raspberry, strawberry) and the spicy ones were well-​received by others in my group too.
The staff working in the chocolate area as well as the coffee area were very friendly and knowledgeable. There is also an area with some tables to sit and enjoy your drinks. Of course, you can also take coffee and/​or chocolate to go.
The mocha though… GET IT. DRINK IT. ENJOY IT. Cheers!

Out of all the times that I have been to the Warehouse District, I always mention that I should check out Videri but never have.
Boyfriend and I decided to pick up a few chocolates before visiting Crank Arm. The chocolates looked so pretty, I loved the iridescent color! Ordered a Dark Chocolate Ganache, Strawberry Anise Ganache and Butterscotch Caramel. YUM, the Butterscotch Caramel was hands down my favorite while Boyfriend enjoyed the Dark Chocolate Ganache.
Prices are a bit steep but I have to treat myself to a delicious sweet treat every once in a while.

Located across from the Pit, I decided to explore the factory in hopes of walking off my bbq meal. There was a chocolate making area in the back and you can smell the aroma of cocao beans throughout the building. They have a café section and a small selection of boxed chocolates and truffles for purchase. The price of the truffles were around $ 2.5−3 per piece. I got a box of six and would highly recommend the salted caramel flavour.

I have watched Videri grow from a youngster, to a teenager to the current non pretentious hipster on their own hanging out in Brooklyn and making it rain like Williamsburg.
Except its Raleigh and the warehouse district is running up on the W’burg with much game.
And Videri was leading the way, bookended by the Pit until the rest of Raleigh caught up.
Being first is a risk, you wait until the rest of the world catches up and in the meantime make good chocolate.
If you make it they will come.
Then you add Stumptown and the warehouse district is equalling the others and even on the road to surpassing the trend.
How? The baristas (some still learning their craft… be patient) can rock an original mocha made with their OWN CHOCOLATE.
Take that New Yorkers!
Now keep the baked goods coming and I’ll divorce some of those low hanging fruits who don’t care anymore about their coffee cred.

In addition to the regular chocolate flavors, they have interesting ones that are very good. The doing chocolate is delicious, as is the hot chocolate.
Seating inside is nice and there is a nice courtyard outside.

Best mocha in Raleigh, and one of the highlights of the Warehouse District.
Since my last review, Videri added a coffee bar, which features Stumptown Coffee (Portland, OR). You’ll find Videri chocolate in-​the-​mix with various drinks available at the counter.
Also new since my last review is an assortment of truffles and caramels available at the bar, in addition to their chocolate bars and seasonal goodies.
If you’re a student, freelancer, or you work in the area, Videri’s also a great place to hang out. The patio and the interior are both very nice. I love spending a couple hours here, or just grabbing a quick coffee on my back from lunch at Jose and Sons or The Pit.

Videri’s interior is one of the cutest I’ve ever seen. Lots of natural wood and rustic country design elements make it very inviting, plus the place smells amazing. It has plenty of seating and even has an adorable patio area outside with plenty of shade.
It carries plenty of chocolate options, with the sea salt bar being my absolute favorite. You can really taste the quality within the chocolate! Very friendly staff offer you samples before purchasing. The coffee bar has a variety of options, and make sure you REALLY love chocolate before you order a mocha.
The self guided tour is short, but learning about the chocolate making process is very interesting. Make sure to come during chocolate production hours, so you can actual view the different processing methods through their large windows within the tour area.

There is a wide variety of chocolates to purchase (unfortunately, you cannot sample any).
The café is also a nice option to order anything coffee related from teas, frozen hot chocolate, coffees and just enjoy being surrounded by all things chocolate.
Located across the street from The Pit restaurant. Came her while we waited for our table and it was the perfect option.

I can’t say a lot, I guess it just wasn’t what I was expecting. It was a cute coffee/​chocolate shop that sells homemade chococlates. I did sample one which was pretty good, but I was in the mood for more than just simple chocolate.
Cute place if you want to sit and relax.

Hanging out in the warehouse district is always fun and I always stop here when I come!

so with that said I can never just walk by.
There is always something that catches my eye…
This time it was the pink peppercorn dark chocolate.
A hint of spice, subtle but sweet
This dark chocolate was definitely unique!
It’s going to pair well with some red wine and cheese
Even my little one wanted some more please.
But for her I got hot chocolate/​cocoa, that’s right
even on a summer night.
It’s that good!
Lastly, They make the chocolate in the factory right there on site and you can take your own tour and learn more about the process!

So glad to see this place is nicely evolving! The Factory area has been spiffed up and is worth a look-​see. It’s always nice to have a little information to go along with a sweet treat!
Free Tastings! They let you sample their four bars… the pink peppercorn is very unique! Fave for me is the salted one.
Am especially glad that they are now offering what appear to be truffles, but they call them Ganache. (not sure what the difference is). They are pretty and colorful under the lights they have in the case, but once they are in a box, it’s hard to tell them apart. We chose a Lemon, a Coffee and a Raspberry Ganache. Plus a Salted Caramel. Two were $ 2.50 each and the other two were $ 2.75. The ones that were a quarter more were slightly bigger. All are pretty tiny, but very very good.
Husband also purchased a Bella Caramella Candy Bar for $ 6.00. All together, these small treats were $ 17.66. Definitely for those of us that prefer quality over quantity.
Folks working there were very friendly!
Definitely worth checking out if you’re in the Warehouse District. They also have a coffee shop, which we didn’t take advantage of.

After seeing all the good reviews, I was hoping to be blown away by all the chocolates that they produce here. However, that was not the case. After getting lunch at the Pit, my friend and I ventured over to Videri looking for some desserts. We tried out the chocolate samples in dark milk and pink peppercorn, which were good. They were smooth and creamy but not too sweet just the way I like it.
Since we were not able to sample the truffles, we decided to purchase and try out 6 different truffles. We got the lavender ganache, coffee ganache, sweet tomato jam, honey caramel, cherry lime ganache and root beer float float. I did not like any of them, except the coffee one that tasted just ok. The lavender truffle was too floral and tasted like soap. The sweet tomato jam did not have any tomato flavor and had a grainy texture.
The chocolates were quite expensive. The truffles were priced at $ 2.75 each, while the chocolate bars cost $ 7.99. I did not
