Lush

I really enjoy the products from this company and I am very excited that they will be expanding soon! What I don’t like about the store is that they have anywhere from 5 – 7 staff members working at one time. They all stand around the store and you literally can’t move around the store because there are so many staff members. It’s odd. I feel like I can’t look around and smell because they are over your shoulder trying to make you purchase something else even if you say no thank you. I like to order their items online now.

By far my favorite Lush. I’m sure she doesn’t remember me, but whenever I go in I ask Shiloh what would work for me. (By the way, if you for some reason ever see this: I forgot to tell you your eyebrows are bangin’ with the gold glitter!) Most of my skincare selection is due to her helpfulness. The store itself is quite cramped, but I recommend going on a weekday during school/​work hours as it seems their targets are teenagers and young adults.

I had a very good experience at Lush. I’ve been there many times but hadn’t written any reviews, but on my last visit I got such exceptional service from Kayla, so here goes. The store itself is very small and it was crowded, but among the confusion Kayla helped me to get all of the items on my list and also to make suggestions for substitutions when the items were sold out. She added some helpful hints and mentioned which were her favorites too. She is a star at this location and I look forward to returning for my next purchases.

It’s always so crowed in this tiny business! I feel like I’m at a rave trying to buy lotions and bubble bath products so uncomfortable and weird. Other than the whole awkward moving around in this joint issue the products are great lots of assortment for everyone’s liking. Employees are nice and helpful as well which is great! Would have given 5 stars but it’s just so damn small in there… oh well.

I have shopped at LUSH a couple of times in NYC. But never had the time for a full walkthrough of all of their products. Though it was a busy Saturday, the Superior Sales Associate, Kayla was AMAZING. I have been in Retail for over 15 years, and she exemplified what I look for when I am hiring. She was engaging, very knowledgeable, patient and not aggressive. She took the time to speak about all of the product, and listened to what I was looking for (I love anything with sea salt in it). I left with a bag full of amazing products, that I have enjoyed using the last few days. I will certainly go back to this location, and hope to shop with Kayla again soon.
And yeah, I would also call out that it is too small a space, but still giving 5 stars because the Store Team can’t control that.

So happy we have a LUSH here in Raleigh. Love their hand made soaps and lotions. Sooooo worth it!!!

Like others have mentioned before, this Lush is quite compact. Although the amount of items they can sell per square foot is impressive, it was a little nerve wracking for me to walk around in fear that I’d accidentally knock something down with my purse.
The sales associates are very knowledgable about their products, which is awesome and I appreciate it, but I prefer browsing on my own without being honed in on.
I have mixed feelings about this place, but I’ll come back again since it’s the closest Lush to me.
While Lush products are a little pricy, I definitely recommend Butterbear and Shoot for the stars. The seasonal melting snowman is fabulous too. They’re all very soothing and the colors are a delight.

I LOVE Lush. If I had the money, I would only use Lush products all the time!
It sadly is a tad small but its bigger than the first Lush that I visited (which was in Sweden) and has a lot more products than it so to me its amazing. However, Crabtree does get crowded at certain times, which then its almost better to figure out what times less people go to the mall because then Lush will be practically EMPTY!
And right now it is the closest one to me, the newest Lush store is the Spa in Charlotte and it’s a bit farther away so its not really worth the drive.
The girls who work there that I have met are WONDERFUL! They’re very helpful, some of them have been a bit over the top helpful but usually they seem really bored during those times. Over all very wonderful eccentric girls who know the products well and have their own experiences with a lot of the products which offer great insight to how the products work. And if one of the workers don’t know how it is or it isn’t their favorite and therefore don’t know a lot about it; there is always someone else who knows how it works and how they like it. Because of this I have never come home with something that wasn’t for me.
I love it, it is a tad tight but its one of the only stores where I feel truly welcomed while containing products that wont kill me. :D

Stopped by today for the first time at this location and was slightly disappointed. I’m a Lush fan, but this store is too small and cramped. As a result, has less products than what I’ve been used to.
Friendly and helpful staff. The girl that helped me today was nice in suggesting some bath balms. She sampled a couple of products on me, but wasn’t pushy, which I appreciated.
My main reason for giving it a 3 star rating is because of the tight cramped space. It’s not comfortable to browse, look around, and sample. It’s really meant for dashing in and out, which is not what I want when I go to Lush. I want to take my time to review all the products, especially when they have seasonal items. I’ll probably come back, but I’m going to try to find another Lush that is bigger, easier to browse around, and carries more options.

Small store with A LOT of products crammed inside. Too many associates for such a small business. Lots of tattoos and piercings. It felt like a Wicca store. There was one very beautiful Sista working there. I would definitely go back, just to see her!

The hideous logo outside of the storefront should have been a sign.
Visiting this store is a nightmare, trust me. You’ll step on toes, trip over people and be hounded by salespeople constantly. Thinking to myself” No I do not need assistance, no I do not need a sample, no, no NO!” I was polite in real life, because I know that the salespeople are mostly just doing their job… right? The person who manages the store or their supervisor is the culprit who has earned my silent wrath!
I truly like being able to shop in peace, however. Imagine walking into the store with headphones on – you’ll incite a riot among the employees! The combination of a teeny tiny store, chock full of scents, colors, packed with products, and with too many overzealous employees – it’s too much for my little introverted heart to bear. I just want quick answers to simple questions, the ability to purchase an item and then the ability to leave.
Yes, the products are okay, if not a bit bland and extremely overpriced…
But I will never ever enter the store again during a busy time. Does a tiny store really need 3 – 5 employees at the same time plus customers?
The first time I bought a 5 $ bath bomb (ridiculous, but pink bathwater? I had to try it at least once) and the second time I sampled many of products without buying. I’d rather go to The Body Shop or even Bath and Body Works (I am cheap), anywhere but that disaster area of a store.

Always super friendly. Will give you a consult on what products are good will work for you. The bath bombs are awesome. They also are vegan, not tested on animal products

Having finally come to terms with the idea that older skin might mean it was time for new — and potentially higher quality (and possibly spendy!) — face products, I braved the horror of Crabtree and headed to Lush, on the recommendations of several ladies my age who boast enviable skin.
I know the store has a near-​cult following, but it was my first time in there and I suppose I looked a little overcome (despite the small size, the shop is PACKED with lovely things!) because I was approached at once by the charming and very helpful Emma, who asked if I was familiar with the company’s products and, when I said I wasn’t, inquired as to what had brought me in that day. I mentioned a specific cleanser, which she pointed out and explained the qualities of before asking what concerns I had regarding my skin in case another cleanser might be more appropriate. Turned out that my sources did not fail me, and I was on the right path to enviable 35±years-old skin!
After testing out the cleanser via a brief but relaxing hand scrub/​massage, I was shown the Wall O’Moisturizers (as I like to call it) and the clerk described the aspects of each and suggested three she felt might be the most suitable. I went with the Skin’s Shangri-​La, which upon application felt like silk and smelled like heaven! I decided to purchase the cleanser and was offered a generous sample of the moisturizer, since multiple applications usually show any flaws or benefits in such a product, and then on my way to the register, danger — makeup, something I didn’t even know Lush carried at all.
My eye went to the rich purple lipcolour, but Emma — so far two for two on product recommendations — suggested a bold, poppy red — yikes! I tried it on, then waffled and wavered (and bless her, she was patient, funny and helpful the whole time) and finally thought what the heck, I’ll break out of my comfort zone!
Wouldn’t you know it — when I pick up my husband from work, the man who never notices makeup compliments my new lipcolour straight away! It doubles as the best blush ever, too. As for the cleanser and moisturizer, two weeks in and my skin is AMAZING. No winter dryness, more even texture, and soft as can be!
I felt that the Lush staff knew their products well, and that they seemed happy to be there and genuinely interested in matching customers with products, which is a far cry from other shops. The customer service was almost more impressive than the products, and the combination of both makes me want to become a long-​term customer from here on out!

I went to this store today and was really excited about sampling all of the scents and picking out some new products, but the staff WOULD NOT LEAVE ME ALONE the entire time I was in there, even when I pointed out that my biggest pet peeve is when associates gab too much (the lady’s response was, instead, to point how she talks too much… and keep going). I didn’t have a moment to think!
I appreciate the insight into the products, but please, give me some space (read on, though, because it’s not like they were giving me product insight). Picking out scents – from soap through perfume – is a somewhat intimate thing, so at least give me a few minutes before pouncing on me, especially if half of your chatter involves discussing why the products are so perfect for you (you being very different from me), and the other half on what I bought from H&M and why you’re obsessed with that store. Seriously?
I was fair, in that I tried to go along with it and listen to them, but it was infuriating, even when we spoke about the actual products. I had mentioned that I had been to LUSH before AND had read through all their products on the website (knowing what to expect in the store), and yet the staff spoke to me like I was a kindergartener who didn’t know the difference between body wash and soap.
If I say I want some time to browse, I want some time to browse… without you.
It definitely didn’t help that the store is virtually a closet with barely any space. I ran out of there and will never go back.

Adorable! I actually discovered Lush through a friend in the UK and I love it!
This store is actually very super duper tiny, but they are plenty of workers to help you and they are ALL super friendly! I returned items and pick them up and set them down with no judgement and no looks. They were happy to help me look for scents that would compliment each other and demonstrate anything I didn’t understand. (bar shampoo?!)
The only thing I didn’t like is that they did try to upsale me a lot and it took everything I had not to buy it. It was just a little too forced, but I guess they were just doing their jobs, so I really don’t hold it against them too much. (Hence, the four stars)
Still, the experience was awesome and I cannot wait to use my bath bomb! :)

I heard about Lush from an old friend. I had no idea what she was talking about until the store at Crabtree «finally opened!»
The first time I was in the store it was a little overwhelming. It was a lot to take in and lets face it, if you’ve never been inside of a Lush before, there isn’t anything like it. It definitely beats out the smells of Bath & Body Works, and I find the staff to be much more personable. They have vast knowledge about their products and will be more than glad to share stories from experience to try to help you find the perfect solution for your skin. The face masks smell good enough to eat! The staff is more than glad to test products out with you and can accommodate your needs if say, you don’t want ¼ lb because you aren’t sure how your skin will react, they will cut a smaller piece of soap off for you so you don’t waste the soap if you don’t use it, and its not «as expensive».
My fridge and bathroom is fully stocked with almost all of their products.

First off let me clarify that I am actually rating this store a 2.5. I would give the store itself a 2; the product and company a 3, so I am rounding up.
I discovered LUSH on a family skiing trip in Whistler, BC. I was a teenager enjoying being at that age where you can wander without your parents for the first time, and feeling quite cool. I walked into LUSH and it was like a sensory explosion. The warmth of the store, the organic, delicious smells of their bombs, soaps, and lotions, the friendliness of the staff (I still remember the girl who rang me up with her multiple ear piercings and bright-​pink hair– VERY cool to Young Me). They helped me select a small variety of products to sample and figure out my preferences, and I went back into the store on the last day of our trip to stock up before heading back to NC!
For years I would order online or hoard like a madwoman when I was in a city with a proper LUSH store. Imagine, then, my delight when I saw the «coming soon» sign in Crabtree Valley Mall, right down the road from my home!
I hate to say that the store is kind of disappointing!
For one thing it is by FAR the smallest LUSH store I have ever seen. They still have a wide variety of products, but they are all crammed into a tiny space so the smell is overwhelming (it actually assaults you just walking by this store in the mall!), rather than larger stores, where product is laid out so that you can experience each scent individually, rather like walking through a garden with different varieties of flowers.
The company still seems to be supportive of staff who are a little eccentric in appearance, but the staff here tends to be kind of frazzled and hurried rather than friendly and engaging.
Overall though the quality of the product is still top-​notch and I feel great supporting a company like LUSH. I like their business ethic and I LOVE their Dream Cream and bath bombs. Last time I went in I picked up a nice massage oil bar that I can’t wait to use on the hubby. I wish they could have picked a better (larger) location for this particular store, but I would still recommend it just for the product.

…but this crowded store in the mall lacks easygoing & friendly staff.
Go to Lush for the product but keep your expectations low on customer service.

Like Pamela, I was stoked to hear that a Lush store was coming to the Triangle. My friend Megan got me hooked on their soaps a few years back. The only other Lush store I have been to is the Philadelphia location, and ours is a fraction of the size of that one. But they have the same great stuff: Karma soap (my fave), Figs and Leaves soap (a great exfoliating soap), and a great selection of bath bombs. The staff is a bit pushier than I would like, but friendly enough.

I admit it. I’m what you call a Lushie. I’ve been one for about 5 years now, since my sister introduced me to Lush in Guildford, England. After that first visit, I went out of my way to find Lush stores whenever I traveled to big cities. Then, word on the street was, Lush was coming to Raleigh. YAHOO. Sign me up for the grand opening, baby, I’ll be there. And I was, along with mobs of others trying to crowd into a store the size of a walnut. I must admit I was wee bit disappointed to see how small our store is. But considering it’s size, it manages to cram a lot of wonderful products into a small space. And you know why? Cuz they don’t waste space or precious resources with a ton of unnecessary packaging.
The moment I walk into a Lush store, my body relaxes. It’s the smells. Take a deep breath and say «Ahhhhh.» Some of my favorites, staples and current addictions include: Dream Cream, the best body lotion on the market; French Kiss bubble bar — make a bath cocktail out of half a FK and half a Butterball bath bomb and you’ll be a wet noodle in no time; Lily Savon soap; Youki Hi bath bomb; and Skin Nanny facial moisturizer.
The sales people are very knowledgeable about the products and can make recommendations. Be sure to ask for some samples. But watch out, you’ll be an addict like me before long.
