Jillian just did my hair and it’s the best cut/​color I’ve ever had! I’ve been to many salons and she is by far the best at what she does, and she’s super nice too! I highly recommend her.

I want to be loyal to a stylist; really, I do. I’m not from the Quincy area, but I’ve been here long enough that I should have found a stylist by now. But I have very fine, thin hair and it is rare that I leave a salon loving my hair, so the search has gone on… however, that changed the day that I went to see Jillian.
She really took the time to listen to what I had in mind and ask me questions to help be sure that I leave there happy and having achieved the look that I wanted. My highlights look great and the cut is one of the best I’ve ever had. Even without blow drying my hair, it falls nicely. The layers that she cut in make my hair feel and look fuller.
And as others have said, it is just a pleasant experience. She’s easy to talk to and you don’t feel rushed out of the chair. She really takes her time. If you’re looking for a talented, friendly and knowledgeable stylist, call Jillian!

My last three haircuts have been executed with her scissors, and I couldn’t be happier. She listens carefully to what you want, and she explains why it may or may not work for your hair. She’s currently helping my grow out my bangs in a painless and flattering way. I wish I could give her ten stars.

Jillian is probably the nicest hairdresser you’ll ever have. More importantly she’s talented and will give you a great cut every time! I’ve received several cuts from her– all of them drastically different and they’ve all been amazing.
She listens to what you want, offers input and gives you exactly what you were hoping you’d come out with.
I think what I enjoy the most about her is she never rushes your appointment and takes her time carefully placing layers– adjusting your bangs, etc.
So, if you’re looking to get a great cut/​styling and have a great personal experience as well, you’re really wasting your time and money by going to anyone but Jill.

Jillian Mauriello truly earns 5 stars. She’s given me many different haircuts over the years and her work is always flattering, expertly done, and exactly what I’ve asked for. She’s also an excellent communicator and an extremely pleasant person. If you happen to have an unwise idea, she’ll explain why it may not work for your hair type, texture, or coloring and find a compromise that will suit you better. I’ve never left Jillian’s chair disappointed, in fact, I always feel like a fabulous beauty queen rockstar diva. She’s worth her weight in gold.

I have a really difficult time finding a hairdresser that I am happy with– I’ve probably tried every one in the Quincy/​Braintree area. My last appontment at a salon in Braintree left me with streaky, unnatural-​looking «highlights» that I had to go home and dye over myself that night. After putting off getting my hair done for a while, I decided it was time. I read some positive reviews for Jillian Mauriello at Illusions (which happens to be around the corner from my house) and decided to give her a try. I couldn’t be happier. The foil she did came out natural-​looking and beautiful, and my hair finally has some style to it. Jillian was very helpful in finding a style that would look good on me. She really listened to what I wanted and took my skin tone and eye color into account when choosing a shade. I will definitely be returning!

I cannot say enough about the haircuts I’ve received from Jillian Mauriello, an incredible hairdresser working at Illusions Hair Salon in Quincy Center. First of all, she actually takes the consultation seriously. Most hairdressers in this area sit you down, start combing your wet hair and ask what you’re looking for, all while they half-​listen as they focus on the gossip at the next chair over or the lame song that just came on the radio. Believe me, I know. I’ve experience this many, many times at a few salons in the QC area. Jillian takes the time to explain what would work w/​your face shape, your lifestyle… she has your best interest in mind.
I have never had a bad experience w/​her as my stylist. She’s taken my hair from jet black to blonde, and she’s turned my long hair into cute and sassy short cuts. Just recently she transformed my «I’m a new mom so I’ll just put it in a ponytail and deal w/​it» hair, into a short and oh-​so manageable Katie Holmes inspired bob. It’s one of the best haircuts I’ve ever had.
If my mom was a hairdresser I would still go see Jillian Mauriello. That’s how good she is.
