I have been a client of Wedad’s for a while now and I just have to say she is the BEST! She gives a great haircut and always up on current styles and trends. I also see her for my monthly eyebrow grooming and I will says she’s the only one that has gotten them right. As for the salon, it’s a beautiful space, the owners are friendly and it’s a fun atmosphere. I would definitely recommend Wedad to friends and to anyone reading my review.

I just want to update this and say I’ve moved to Boston and I STILL come to see Piero. I am CONSTANTLY told by people(including other stylists) that they love my hair color. I do too! =)

I had been following Piero around from Salon to Salon for over 10 years and finally left him because of the distance of his new salon from my current residence. I did this despite the fact that he did the most amazing job on my hair and kept it healthy and absolutely stunningly gorgeous for all those years. I have only been to a few other stylists since leaving him and recently was completely traumatized by an utter butchering of my long tresses that will take me years to grow back. I am left wondering, «Why, oh why did I ever stop going to Piero?» and«I’m so sorry for leaving you, Piero! Please, please, please, will you take my now sorry head of hair back?»

Kevin, co-owner & master stylist, has been cutting and coloring my hair since the salon opened — Summer 2006. He has been in the business for some time(maybe 10 years?) and had worked for a number of high end salons before opening Salon Gabbana. I am always happy with his work. He takes time for a thoughtful consultation before the appointment begins. I have brought in pictures on occasion, other times just an explanation. I have gone dark, light, shorter/medium, and long with great success. My first appointment was as part of a wedding party. The look was formal and intricate, but not overdone. My appointments are mostly for highlights(amazing) and cuts(great texture, minimizes bulk of thick hair). As an aside, he’s a genuine person and a pleasure to spend time with. Clients seem to range quite a bit in age. Warm salon. Great support staff. Cathy, the salon assistant, is quite personable and accommodating with scheduling. Many friends have asked where I go and I am always happy to send them to Kevin.

After reading reviews I took the plunge to find a new salon. I recently moved from Detroit after having the same sylist for over 15 years. I went to see Kevin and he was great. I really don’t know how to tell someone how I want my haircut because I trusted my old stylist. Kevin was great, he told me what my hair needed and we went with it. I was able to style it myself the next day, which is always a concern. Also, the salon is very reasonable.

Salon Gabbana is another place that I drive by pretty much everyday but never even noticed it until Unilocal came along and helped me out!!! My friend needed a local place get her hair done for her wedding and we had to check out Gabbana after reading the reviews here. All I have to say is WOW, Kevin is a miracle worker! He was able to style 1 bride + 4 maids + 1 mama all in like 3 hours starting at AM!!! Mind you that he didn’t stop for a break, no coffee and had 7 girls chatting away while he was working! The bride LOVED her hair(thank god) and all the girls was very happy as well. Thank you Kevin! AND thank you UnilocalERS!!!

This is the third salon I’ve tried since moving to Boston three years ago. I went based on location and previous reviews(the positive ones!) and they were pretty accurate. I saw Kevin and he did a great job interpreting what I said I wanted and, with some persistence, trimmed my choppy bangs(from a previous bad haircut and, dare I admit, some of my own bad trimming) in a way that should allow them to grow out nicely and perhaps start over again. I did have to ask him specifically to do that, though. I find stylists to be incredibly hesitant to cut bangs so they’re not hanging in your eyes. Initially he did nothing except style them in a way that sort of blended into the rest of my hair. Which looked great, but the problem is it’s very unlikely I’ll be able to recreate that style every morning! But when I asked again, he «texturized» the bangs without really shortening them and I’m pretty happy with the result. I’ll definitely go back(it’s the return visits, after all, that really test a stylist’s talents).

I think I tried about 7 or 8 different salons when I first moved to Massachusetts in 2005. Some were mediocre at best, some provided(now somewhat humorous) horror stories of bad bleach jobs and orange roots! Some just didn’t «trip my trigger» and excite me into paying $ 150 a second time. Thankfully, there was light at the end of the road: a few girlfriends of mine recommended Piero at Salon Gabbana. He has had a ton of past experience and opened his own salon with another stylist about a year ago. Not only does Piero listen to what I would like, he makes recommendations and suggests ways of getting to where I want to be. The salon has a friendly atmosphere and they are always playing great music! I highly recommend Salon Gabbana. They are fantastic and you won’t be disappointed!

Based on the reviews, I checked out this place while searching for a new hair dresser closer to my new home. Well, my search ain’t over. I asked him to cut and re-shape my bangs and he missed half of them, so that when I washed my hair the next day, I had long and short bangs with a noticeably length difference. I was NOT going for my bang-do back in the 80s with the high and low bangs! Although he styled my hair with a pretty flip and side part, that is not how I do my hair. Yes, it was nice and I guess he was showing me versatility with my hair. The problem I have with that is when I leave the hair salon, I don’t know whether the cut is right for when I part my hair in the middle with my bangs falling straight down and swooping to the side. Also, he used a really high setting to blow dry my hair. At one point the hair dryer was too close to my head and I felt my scalp burn.(He knew it, too!) I can’t imagine that it is healthy for my hair to have steam coming off of it when blow drying. But, I am not a hairdresser and maybe someone else can educate me on that one. Although I won’t be heading back there, my experience was not horrible enough to harm someone’s reputation based on a single incident by including his name(so that is why there is no reference). He may be the perfect hairdresser for someone else out there, but just not for me. I think it is great that the owners are entrepreneurs and opened their own salon, so I wish them luck.

Kevin is so great. I am never good at describing what I want done to my hair… but, even with my vague description of what I like, it came out just perfect-exactly what I wanted! The price was a little high, almost as high as the salons in Boston-but it really is worth it to know you will get a great color and cut rather than risk it somewhere cheaper. Came here a 2nd time, looking for something new and was pretty disappointed. Perhaps I should have been more clear, but I was looking for some help from an experienced stylist and all I got what a shoulder length straight hair cut. I just expected more. Haven’t been back since.

Forget about the planets aligning — if a woman doesn’t love her hair, the Earth might as well not be rotating on its axis. My hair was in bad shape from over-processing and a very bad hair salon experience. My hair is naturally dark blonde, but last year it was pumpkin-colored(thanks to one of those well-known, ‘i’ll do your hair for a dime’ chop shops). Thankfully Alicia(my aesthetician from Glow in Braintree) recommended her friend and hairdresser Piero Bonsignore. Alicia has silky dark locks that she was seemingly born with. I couldn’t believe it when she told me that her hair used to be bleached blond. Piero had gotten her hair back to natural. I can’t even imagine Alicia with bleached hair so I thought Piero must be fantastic. I was right — Piero is fantastic. My hair transformed drastically after one visit. After three visits, there was no red in my hair. Needless to say, this changed my whole outlook on life. Good hair, good mood. At that time, Piero was working at a ritzy hair salon at the SSP(South Shore Plaza), but he has recently(July 2006) opened his own salon in North Quincy with fellow hairdresser Kevin Bui. I just had my first haircut at the new salon tonight. Directions were very easy. From the South I took Exit 9 off I-93 North. After three traffic lights, I made a right onto Squantum Street. I went through a residential area before hitting #222, which is located in a strip plaza. There is a huge sign that you can’t miss. I found parking easily. Once I was parked, I was a little disoriented — just the norm for a blonde Polock like me(do they sell GPS for people or just cars?). Thankfully Piero spotted me or I’d still be wandering his parking lot.(FYI — if you face the strip building, Salon Gabbana is located to the left and next door to a dry cleaners). The salon is gorgeous. It is clean(of course everything is new) but the décor is fabulous — much better than the expensive chain store at the mall. I was surprised to find that Piero did a lot of the decorating and carpentry. He gave me the V.I.P. tour. The salon is set up for manicures, pedicures, facials, electrolysis, tanning, etc. Some of it is still in progress, but you can’t see what is under construction; there are no eyesores at Salon Gabbana. Most importantly, Piero did another phenomenal job on my hair. As I was listening to relaxing music by Andrea Botcelli and a famous Roman singer by the name of Eros, Piero worked his magic once again. My cut and blow dry was a mere $ 20(men’s cuts are only $ 10) — an intro special. What a deal! At the other place it was $ 45. Piero is also offering a 60% discount on chemical services(the specials end September 1), so I’ll be going back in a couple weeks. I’ll be bringing my mother as a matter of fact! I subtracted a star from my rating because I got lost in the parking lot, but really, Piero is five stars all the way. When you go, tell him I said so. ;-)
