Was my first time and will be my last time. Food took way too long to get. And was an 7 out of 10.

It’s a real nice place to hang out… I mostly go there with my friends. Moreover it’s cheap and worth for regular visits

Was here on a Saturday night. Nothing spectacular. Burgers are huge and great. Home cooked chips are great. The soft pretzel was good. Service was fast. The new OTB is a nice addition but brings in a wide variety of people. The layout of the entire bar is odd at best.

They updated the food menu. Killer thin crust pizza’s, ice cold beer, lots of tv’s and they’ve got Vegas style OTB room if that’s your thing. Friendly staff, out door area with bags, good times.

Thought I’d try a new bar with some friends and we picked Player’s. The food and drink selection was good except I felt it was a bit pricey($ 7.00 for a drink comparable to a Long Island) for the location. I loved my Pita Nachos! My boyfriend got the April special(buy 2 $ 4.00 Dos Equis drafts and you get to keep the glass). We figured this would be some cool glass, and while it was a Dos Equis glass, it was a glass that had definitely gone through their dishwasher at least 20 times complete with design wearing off. Duh! Overall, it was fine. If I was in the area again, I’d go back.

Great place to watch the game as they have plenty of tv’s. Sheena was our server and she was great… very attentive and very pleasant. The food was delicious… it hit the spot! I will definitely be back.

Love this place. I come here every once in a while to watch a game or meet up with friends. Bartenders are very friendly and prices aren’t too bad. They have a horse race betting section and a slot machine section. And they have plenty of big tvs for football and baseball games.

Have been to Player’s a few times when I am in the area on business. Great place with a good TV setup, friendly staff, off track betting. The pita nachos are very tasty. Good times here and I always enjoy spending my $ at a solid, local establishment rather than dish out the cash to chain bars/restaurants. Highly recommend if you like the feel of a local, friendly bar with good service.

It’s a bar. Great bar food. Cheap prices on the food btw. Beer is reasonable to cheap. Great staff. Get the sliders.

We live in the city, but chose this place because it was a good halfway point to meet up with our friends who live in the far burbs. We went once two weeks ago and then again this past weekend, both times to watch the Blackhawks in the playoffs. This place may seem divey, but the food and service were outstanding on both occasions. I loved that we could call ahead to make a reservation for a table for the game. The people I spoke to on the phone were so friendly and nice, which is pretty uncommon at a bar. Our waiters were amazing both times — this weekend we had Remi, I wish I could remember the name of the other guy. They were friendly, efficient, fun, and attentive. The food was excellent. They had half price pizza, which tasted GREAT. I ordered the Southwest Salad, which was one of the best salads I’ve ever had. And did I mention $ 4 Jack Daniels? I wasn’t expecting much from this place, other than being in a convenient location. I was super impressed with what a great job they did on the food and service, on both occasions. We’ll be back for sure!

Players is a dive bar tried-and-true. I am not saying that to be negative at all but this is a stand-alone, non-corporatized bar and you will be reminded of this often if this type of setup isn’t your scene. To be fair, I have only gone after work since it’s right around the corner from the office. It’s not very fancy or ultra-modern and they do have some outside seating. On the plus side the wait staff is always super friendly and I love their wings. Big, juicy and cooked to order, I enjoy both their barb-b-que as well as the hot wings. I have also had their loaded fries, and quesadillas and all were very good bar items. As per the usual bar order of things quite a few large screen T.V.s adorn the walls and they also have games that appear to allow for gambling too. If you are in the general area and need a low-key place to turn into and don’t mind where you go, this isn’t a bad little spot. Nothing over the top, but it’s clean, very typical bar prices, nice bar food and nice daily specials. Put it this way: there are a bazillion bars in this area but my co-workers and I most often stop in this one when we want to crush a few after work. Check em’ out and draw your own conclusions. I think you will be fine.

Something has changed. Burgers, fries, not the same. We were informed no more specialty burgers. We went there because my boyfriend wanted what was called the day break. He tried to build one with extra charges. Oh well, all good things come to an end.

I had the pita Nachos OMG. They were SO good! It was our first visit and we had never heard of the restaurant. I wonder why. We tell everyone since our visit. Our waitress was so bubbly and friendly we loved her. We got the southwest chicken salad and teriyaki chicken fingers. We will come back to sample more items from the menu. Wonderful flavors and quality food. This place has great food with great service. We will be return customers.

Pleasantly surprised! My first time to Player’s Pub and it won’t be my last! Great service, drink specials and great food(had the buffalo chicken wrap with a few customizations and fries). Large screen to watch the Hawks game. The manager even came to our group to thank us for coming in — he took notice that he’d never seen us there before. Definitely check them out!

All the food was great, had an Italian beef which was fantastic with onion rings. Pita nachos we’re great barfood. We were served quickly and sat right away no problem. Wait staff was friendly and helpful knowledgeable about the menu as well. We also ordered french fries loaded. The fries were nine dollars, they definitely weren’t worth nine dollars. They were saggy and limp by the time we got them, would’ve been nice if they were crispy. They definitely weren’t worth nine dollars, other that it was a good meal.

Not my first time here nor my last. Food is usually pretty good but for my first time here it wasn’t. We ordered a pizza and it was way under cooked, you could actually see the dough in the slice. Oh well, normally never order pizza here, maybe there’s new help in the kitchen. Like I said in the beginning, not the first time and it won’t be the last time.

Good breakfast, decent lunch, and fairly inexpensive drinks. friendly waitresses. I understand that it has a good night life too. This place also has off track betting. The burgers and fries are good, but there is a very large variety on the menu.

This place is great! They have OTB, so I went here with some friends for the Kentucky Derby on Saturday. We placed some bets and drank a few mint juleps. After ther Derby was over we found a table in the bar area and ordered more drinks and some food. There was live music that was good if a little bit loud. The menu has more variety than what you would expect from a bar. They actually put some effort into making tasty food, and they offer a lot of healthier options. We ordered some fried calamari, loaded french fries, and hot wings. The calamari was good with very light breading and not overcooked or rubbery. The french fries were outstanding. Crispy and not too greasy/oily. The hot wings were also delicious. They were grilled not fried which is unusual in my experience. Overall, I would definitely be willing to go to this bar more often.

We came here the other night for dinner. I didn’t expect anything fancy. When we walked in there were already a decent number of people at the bar… mostly between their late 30’s to 50’s. One of the first things I noticed was the smell… reminded me of a college dorm after a party. The smell grossed me out all night. We seated ourselves and were waited on right away… but that was about the best the service got all night. We were asked to move, which was ok… but they moved us right by the bathrooms. Ew. We were pretty much ignored because they had a party coming. It wan’t like the wait staff wasn’t working, they just didn’t have enough people to wait on everyone. The menu is pretty decent, and many of the items are recipes the chef made up. The prices are also pretty fair. We ordered the potato lentil soup, chicken wings, and a burger with fries. The soup was ok… not awesome. The burger was good at first, but the more I kept eating it the weirder it tasted. The wings weren’t bad, but they weren’t very juicy — kind of dry. The fries were good, probably the best thing there. I have to say, I don’t want to discourage local business, but this place wasn’t great. We left basically saying we would’t come back. The owner came by and visited us a few times and asked how things were, which was nice. I think it’s a good place to grab a drink and watch a game, especially for an older crowd. But as far as a restaurant goes… not so much.
