Pretty pumped to find a tasty, reliable delivery place in the PH/AH area! Great change from the pizza and chinese go-tos. Really tasty pub food, great reuben and burger, kids loved the mac n cheese. Definitely on our rotation!

the pace was small and could use some more help attending the customers. There ws not much craft beer at this location and this place tries to give the illusion it is a big craft place. The food was below average and pricy for a bar and the bar layout pretty bd. thee is much seating away from the bar. Not the best bar and worse art many bikers seemed to hang here.

It was Friday karaōke night and it was good but the service was not that wow. But still it can be a place where you can think of hanging out.

What a find. I purchased a Groupon for Union Ale House. They staff was friendly and knowledgeable. We thoroughly enjoyed this place. The menu and daily specials were great. Susie the owner came over and welcomed us. This is definitely a great go to place.

Lived in the area for 20 years and this is the first time I’ve eaten there. I liked it so much I went back with the family the next day. Let’s start with the appetizers. Everything is fresh. We had fried mushrooms, onion rings, and calamari. The mushrooms were the best I ever had. They were large, whole, fresh mushrooms and not the typical frozen ones that every restaurant serves. Same freshness for the onion rings and calamari. Our party had the pizza, burgers, skirt steak sandwich, grilled chicken sandwich, and a couple salads. Everyone enjoyed their food and the owner Jim was super friendly. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for good food and a decent value.

I just wanted to thank union ale house for taking pride in the food that they serve to there customers. As a transplant to this area I was dissapointed in the quality of what some places claimed to be fried pickles were merely soggy breading. The fried pickles at Union are to die for. Along with a great selection of burgers excellent pizza and always fresh vegetable it is rare in a land where everyone has fallen into the big-name chain game to find a shining star of a restaurant where everyone employed there shows pride in what they do from the smiling faces greeting you at the door to the chefs putting their heart and soul into the dishes that are a steal for the price I would recommend this place to anyone. THANKYOUUNIONALEHOUSE.

Great food and good service. I enjoyed my spicy bleu burger and the homemade chips were tasty(well seasoned with a light drizzle of oil, salt, and some herbs). Our server was very nice. 1 star gets docked because it was unbearably warm in the restaurant. My pals and I came to watch the Blackhawks game but we didn’t stay past finishing our food because it was too humid inside. Our server told us that they serve half price pizza on Thursdays. I’d come back to this place, but the air conditioning needs to be working better.

We chose this place due to its reviews and from the menu. The service was outstanding, and despite making a reservation at a later time then we arrived, they seated us right away. The food… what can I say other than, some of the best pub food I’ve ever had. Every single thing they make is fresh and from scratch. You don’t find places like this anymore. Especially in California, my home state. The best part, lots of great Craft Brews to choose from. You could sample any of the many beers they had on tap before you decided on which one to go with. Being an out of tower, this was a fantastic place! So happy we all got to have an amazing meal here! Even if you’re local, if you haven’t tried it, you’re missing out!

Ordered delivery, it got here faster than the confirmation email from eat 24. Tried my friend’s burger and it was so good and HUGE. Could barely take a full bite. Only problem is the veggie pizza was not as described. One quick call and it was NOPROBLEM! Awesome customer service. They delivered the right pizza for free 35 minutes later, super apologetic, super sweet. Really impressed and the right veggie pizza was delicious and somehow seemed healthy! Very crispy thin crust, good sauce, not greasy. 1 slice was a bit too salty for my taste but I have a low salt taste tolerance. If you want a greasy guilty pleasure pizza, this isn’t it. This pizza is light and healthy(at least the veggie). Would definitely order again!

Reviewing just the food. The burger, the way it was presented, the taste, everything about the burger was delicious and the fries made to order. The beef sandwich was heavily heavily over salted to the point of not being edible. This is before the Au Ju. Don’t order that item from there stick with a burger.

Food = 2 to 4 stars Beer Selection = sorely lacking for a sports bar Service = 2 stars Atmosphere = 2 stars, a confusing juxtaposition Guess I’ll settle on 2 stars overall. Saw them on Groupon and since they were located out in Busia’s general direction decided to give them a try the next time we took her out to dinner. Both chicken sandwiches that Busia and I ordered were very good. The Chipotle sauce on mine had great flavor, though it wasn’t spicy at all and I was expecting a bit of heat with it. The Hubs ordered the burger with blue cheese & fried onions, done medium. The burger arrived done well and the meat really didn’t have much flavor at all. It did seem like a house-made patty(I’m not sure, but it looked like it) so perhaps they need to work on their seasonings. There was plenty of blue cheese and fried onions on his burger so they don’t skimp on the toppings! I did feel that both Busia and I each got a huge mound of fries with our sandwiches but the Hubs got just a couple of small handfuls of their housemade chips with his burger. Their housemade chips are delicious, too, so I know he would have gobbled up more of them. For the service I think since they are newer they are still finding their groove. The service, when we had it, was friendly. We were warmly greeted by who I’m guessing is the owner and the hostess when we arrived and our service was nice, though inattentive. I finished my diet soda halfway through my meal and was not offered a refill. I even moved my glass to the center of the table to make it obvious it was empty but no luck. My husband finally got the attention of our server and asked for a refill on his water(even he didn’t notice my glass was empty, oh well…) and that didn’t arrive until 10 minutes later when we asked for boxes for our leftovers and she must have noticed she forgot to bring the water(she still hadn’t noticed my drink was empty and at that point I wasn’t going to bother to ask). The atmosphere? While they are touted as a sports bar(despite not having many beers to choose from), and certainly have a bar and plenty of TV’s(and video gaming machines chirping away in the bar area), they seem to be torn between this and being a regular family restaurant. The fresh flowers in vases on each of the tables and some of the other more homey/feminine-style décor in the dining room, while nice anywhere else, seemed odd there. I’d say, pick one style and go with it.

Today we wanted to go out for lunch somewhere different than most of the places we frequently haunt, and I am not referring to our Halloween antics. Well, I noticed that there was a Groupon deal for the Union Ale House in glamorous Prospect Heights, just a stone’s throw from the campus of National Louis University in Wheeling. Although this was a football weekend, there were no games going on at NLU’s campus — probably because they have no football team, no stadium, and that it is a third to fourth-tier commuter institution. I know that the Kingsmen wrote the NLU fight song, Louie Louie, many years ago, but the NLU’s board of regents sold the rights to the song to the movie, Animal House. [Not really, but in the 1980s the State of Washington actually considered adopting the song as its state song, and that is NOT a joke.] So why did I waste an entire paragraph on sports? Because the Union Ale House IS a sports bar; and my wife is an avid sports fan and athletic supporter. [Believe this or not, she did not understand what an athletic supporter is!!!] This is a lively place whose walls are covered by dozens of flat panel screens, each tuned to different sporting events. They had baseball, football, golf, ESPN, and CNN on. They did change the CNN channel when a new football game started. It was kind of fun looking at all the events and seeing lots of games, scores, and athletic action going on. Nice touch: The manager asked my wife and me if there was a specific sporting event that we wanted to see, but I demurred: I was watching two football games and one baseball game concurrently. We had a very nice waitress, whose name I cannot recall, who explained their menu so simply and clearly that even I could understand it. We sat down in a sunny room facing west, but our waitress suggested that we consider another location because members of a sport fantasy league were expected to show up, and«they can get noisy» from time to time. We heeded her recommendation. We just wanted some sandwiches, and I chose a build-your-own burger and Mrs B has a build-your-own chicken sandwich. Build-your-own means you choose your own toppings, cheeses, bread, and potatoes. At most places, they ask me how I would like my meat cooked, but she didn’t. Actually, it came out medium well, which I prefer, anyways. Their prices on draft beer are about $ 5, but they have some domestic bottled beer for $ 3.50. While we were eating, a half dozen or so middle-aged guys came in and sat where we were going to sit. Every one of them wore long shorts(below the knees) and toted in a laptop computer(is this a uniform?). These were the fantasy football fellows? Guess so. Our waitress brought out pails of suds for them. But they were surprisingly quiet. They looked like a group of nerds at a library! Our meals were fine, and our bellies were full by the time we completed lunch. I got to see the Northwestern U and Rutgers games and the Cubs game simultaneously. It was a fun afternoon, and I enjoyed the meal and ambiance. Who ever thought that fantasy football fans would be so tame in a sports bar?

Hidden gem… easy to drive by and not notice. Brought family and ordered a variety to try: Pizza — very good Cuban Sandwich — the highlight Ribs — very good Chopped Salad — very good Service was a little awkward. Ownership was attentive and nice. We will definitely be back.

Just went here with my dad, we live down the road so it was easy to get to and we had a $ 30 Local Flavor thing to redeem. First time here. Service was really good. Our waitress, Ashley, was very attentive and outgoing. Started with a Caesar salad. It had a lot of flavor and if I go here again, I’ll probably get that as my meal. For my main dish, I got the skirt steak sandwich. It wasn’t great, just OK. The steak was a little hard to bite but tasted fine. I put some barbecue sauce on it to give it a bit more flavor. Also, subbed grilled onions for onion straws. I also subbed chips/fries for steamed broccoli. My dad got the same thing(but kept the grilled onions). He seemed to really like it and devoured it much more quickly than I did. He got the chips(made in house) and they were good but needed some salt. Only people in here were locals, businessmen and just guys hanging out. I think I was the only woman in there besides the waitresses. There are also a ton of TVs, so if you’re looking for a casual place to watch every sports game that’s on, this is your place.

Hadn’t been in this place in years when out of town friends wanted to meet there. I thought I would order the standard burger, which was usually a good choice. WRONG! This menu offered so much more, I have 2 return trips planned so I can order things I didn’t get to tonight. The interior was given a much needed and well-done face lift making it cleaner, brighter and more open, which makes it warm and inviting. EThe service was friendly. Now, the food. We sampled the taco special which knocked my socks off. They were meaty and all ingredients were fresh tasting. The pork tenderloin was as good as you get downstate, no kidding. I was able to snag a bite of my husband’s dish and I will be back to order that as a dinner with mashed potatoes and gravy. I had the skirt steak which was juicy and pretty tender. I wish the garlic bread had more garlic taste and next time, I will add cheese to it so that it will a perfect sandwich. The fries were fresh cut and so good. They also offer homemade chips which were very fresh and crisp. This place is now on our radar and cannot wait to return

We come here almost every Sunday because my bf’s flag football team is sponsored by the sister bar. Their food is decent, just your regular bar food. I really enjoyed the Parmesan garlic boneless chicken wings. The bar area looks really cool and has a lot of TVs, but since we come with a large group of people, we get sent to their back area that doesn’t have great TVs or sound. The waitress is always super friendly and attentive.

Service was slow at first and BOOM they stepped their game up! I haven’t had an amazing burger and wings in a long time and this place hit the spot! The wings were amazing and the burger was phenomenal!!! The only little complaint that I have is that the beer selection was just ok but other than that this place is a GEM! Union Ale House I will see you again very very very soon!
