A great place to live if you hate quiet, love the noise of screaming kids and inconsiderate neighbors. Lived here for a year. Moved in for the convenient location, which Yes, ok. it is pretty convenient. And Yes, the inside was decent. And I do realize it is apartment living, it is automatically going to be slightly annoying. However… 1. The worst of it was the pipes. They run between the walls and seemingly above the ceiling. In no exaggeration… They clang, hammer, pop, creak and its an overall annoyance that will cause you to lose sleep — for months. I complained to management and they said that they went in and fixed it with foam. This was a lie, I was friends with the neighbors(lived there at the time) and they said no one came over to fix it.(the access is in their apt.) 2. The annoying, rude, inconsiderate and idiot neighbors. They seem to think they are the only people in the entire building. They screamed and yelled constantly and let the kids practice kung fu on the walls. That’s how I knew what time it was. 4 am — pipes going crazy. 5 am — Kids screaming at the top of their lungs and kicking the walls below you. Good news is that you live above them. Which comes in handy for when you decide to practice elephant walking — in revenge. 2.1 — Other neighbors like to let their kids roam wild without supervision leading to broken living room windows, smeared food all over the stairs and trash all over your entry. When confronted, you will get an ex-felon telling you«it is what it is bro…» Well, no. Remind them that they signed a contract to respect the property, and respect the privacy of the neighbors. So they are in breach of contract. which is the only way the lazy management gets involved. 3. The other kids. Apparently Olive Tree Apartments should advertise as a skate park too. The main sidewalk has become skateboard heaven. FORHOURS… ANDHOURS… ANDHOURS. Not to mention the fact that the common areas look like a garage sale with all the crap they leave everywhere. 4. The languid management. Unhelpful and non-consistent management practices that only frustrate paying tenants on a regular basis. If you are moving into 22, I seriously sympathize with you. You WILL lose sleep. I wrote this to warn you. Hopefully you are reading this, and you seriously reconsider moving in here at the price they want to charge you.

I got to enjoy living here for about 9 months before having to relocate for my husband’s job. I rank it quite high and would definitely go back if work takes us down to the San Diego area again. I was in a second floor unit that was partially upgraded with new flooring but had the older style kitchen. While it was older, it was well maintained and after moving in any small issues I found were soon handled by maintenance after I informed the on-site manager, Debbie. I never had any pest infestations or other big issues(did have a baby lizard find its way in from my balcony one time, but that was the only real exciting thing). There was work on the apartment piping a couple times, but there were notices posted ahead of time that the water may be off. Additionally, there were notices about fire alarm checks or anything else important you needed to know. I think the management works hard to keep any noisy, disruptive people/activity out of the complex. Of course, there would be an occasional noisy weekend night get together by the neighbors, but nothing you couldn’t close the sliding door and front windows to keep out. One nice thing about the layout is that the bedrooms are away from the sidewalk/grass space between the apartments that leads to the entryways and the overlooking balconies and patios, so that helps it to stay quiet when you need to sleep. Overall, I consider it a great place to stay and a great value for the money you pay.

Here is an honest, unbiased review. I have lived here for over 3 years now and seen it transform into a nice community. It did go through a rough patch, but since they brought on Debbie as an on site manager, the place has really been cleaned up. Any issues that arise are taken care of quickly. The tenants who caused issues, some who have written the bad reviews, have been evicted or have otherwise left. There is now a nice safe community that I am happy to live at. This isn’t a resort, but very nice for the price. Peaceful and pleasant. –I’d like to add that they have extensively remodeled many of the units attracting a higher class of residents.

My wife and I just moved out after a year of living at the apartments and it was a great place to live! The unit was clean and large for our 2 bedroom apartment. Both the on-site and off-site manager were very nice and quick to respond with any issues. The current neighbors were also nice, with mostly families around. The only issue was some smokers that can cause the apartment to smell if windows are left open. Other than that, I highly recommend checking out these apartments.
