We used to enjoy Daphne’s and in the last year we have found the quality of the food has gone down. The chicken has been terrible. Today, I got a salad with uncooked chicken and brown lettuce. For the cost of the salad I would expect it to have top quality chicken and lettuce. It was very disappointing and I will not be going back anytime soon. And we had to wait a long time to be served and the restaurant was not crowded.

piling iceberg lettuce on half the plate, dusting it with some cheese, adding a half an olive, two slivers of onions and a tomato wedge and calling it greek salad is a crime. A real greek salad is a delight to eat… this was a waste of money… I won’t be back.

Daphne’s catered a dinner at my workplace through Restaurants On The Run and it was great! We ordered a lot of food and it all came just as ordered, in plentiful supply and was delicious. The salad was super fresh, the chicken kabobs were moist and the seasoned rice was fantastic! Nice work, Daphne’s!

Growing up with a Greek mother, I know Greek food. I know a good gyro and baklava. Daphne’s baklava is sup-par(sorry, I still make the best), and their gyros are pretty okay. They buy their meat from the same place everyone else does, so they can’t screw it up too much. Love the feta fire fries. The menu is difficult to understand. The Mexican dude kept trying to explain a gyro vs pita vs street pita vs classic gyro and he was confusing. Plus, the crappy teeny-bop music was so loud, he had to shout to make himself heard. Suggestion: turn down the music. Change it to something… I dunno… Greek? Mediterranean, at least? More feta on the fries, please.

Yum! First time eating here, had a to go order of two gyros and the spicy feta fries? I think that’s what they were called. The gyro meat was absolutely delicious, the only complaint I had was that I wasn’t a fan of the tzatziki sauce and I would of loved to have had feta cheese on my gyro. Also, the blonde employee who took our order needed a attitude check.

I like it when Daphne’s has their $ 5 pita sammi specials. That being said, I stopped in for a late lunch and ordered the classic gyro pita for the said $ 5 and for kicks, and appetizer of their house hummus, which they call«Dip & Pita.» for about $ 4, if I remember correctly. First, I was not very impressed with the hummus. They appeared to scoop it onto a plate, that reminded me of an ice cream which looked kinda odd. Its texture was good and for the most part cream with some graininess, but its flavor was not there. The hummus tasted young or green. Like if the chickpeas were still in the raw stages before they processed it. I have only experienced that once before, and I did not care for it back then neither. The light dressing of olive oil was nice and helped the hummus along, and the pita bread slices were good good, but needed to be baked a little longer. Two stars for the hummus. The classic gyro pita was quite good for $ 5. It was not the best I have experience, but for the price, it’s a winner. However, I would not pay over $ 8 for it. The gyro meat was warm and very tasty. However, the problem with the gyros meat was that they placed it right on top, so the pieces tended to fall off. It would be much better if they packed the gyros side by side with the greens, tomatoes, and cucumbers, so the meat would be nicely tucked in. Any ways, the toppings were all fresh and crisp. The tzatziki was cool and refreshing and the pita was soft and warm. All in all, quite munchable gyro sandwich. I was a fan. Service was quite good. The young lady at the counter made good small talk and had a good sense of humor.

The food was not great. Didn’t seem fresh. Then right after eating lunch here, I started to feel quite sick. I then proceeded to get sicker and sicker to the point where I could not eat and vomited all of the Daphne’s pita bread I’d eaten earlier. Coincidence? I think not. I will not be returning here. It’s definitely cheap for a reason. PS: note to the staff — please stop calling young females«ma’am» — it is quite offensive.

My wife and I used to love this place, but a really bad odor developed and that keeps us away. We tried to go there a week ago for lunch and the smell made us leave before we could order.

This place has really gone downhill. It was busy when I came here, but not too crazy. I had to wait almost 40 minutes for my meal! They only had one person working in the kitchen and one person on the register, who also had to run all of the food while people waited in line to order. That is definitely understaffed for a Saturday during lunch. The kicker was when I got my food. I had ordered a side of fries with my gyros, and there were only a small handful of fries. Not worth the $ 2.50 up charge. It’s too bad, I used to like this place. I won’t be back.

I liked the place and the friendly cashier, but the food serving was tiny!!! No wonder its good and healthy! The grilled meat was sooo dried up and a full meal feels like a kids meal at other restaurants. Other than that, if you like tasteless tiny portions of healthy food, this is your sweet spot!!!

When did Daphne’s become Daphne’s California Greek? Guess the same time when Rubio’s became Rubio’s Coastal Mexican Grill. Anyway, the food is the same despite the rebranding, which is to say, it’s not a bad place to grab some Medditeranean style food.

The food quality is not very good but the only reason that I occasionally grab lunch here is the great service and comfortable seating! Robert is very professional and helpful…

I really like Daphe’s. I go here periodically for lunch and I always get the Gyro sandwhich. Definitely my favorite. I always make sure I order by phone so that I don’t have to wait that always helps. It is nice that the have outdoor seating because the weather is always nice here.

My family and I absolute love this place. The food is always fresh. Wait is maybe 10min or less to get your food and the value is unbelievable. Sunday’s especially because if you buy one entrée you get a kids meal for free. My wife, son and I always have an amazing lunch every Sunday. Two mix and match entrées plus a jumbo beverage plus extra sides and kids meal all for only $ 21

I’m not sure what happened to this place, but it went downhill in the last year. I usually go to Victor’s café when I want Greek food. We stopped in yesterday for some gyros, and were greeted with a horrible stench from the women’s bathroom and a nasty fruit fly infestation. I would avoid Daphne’s on Poway rd until management fixes the fruit fly problem. That is unacceptable for a restaurant that serves uncooked food(salad)

My thoughts are mixed about this place. Although I am a fan of Daphne’s and the food that they offer, I am hesitant to ever go into this location because of their poor service! I am HUGE on customer service. This location just doesn’t get it. When you’re making your order, the employees aren’t very helpful or friendly. It’s quite obvious that they would rather be somewhere else. They don’t help you with the menu or make other suggestions that you may like. Above all, it takes FOREVER to get your food! Every single time I’ve visited this location, I always leave thinking that my wait took way too long for what I ordered. My husband ordered a salad to go yesterday and it took at LEAST15 minutes before we were able to leave. The sad thing is, i’m not even exaggerating. The food is decent, which is the only reason why i’ll even give them 3 stars. But in all honestly, the tasty food is not enough to overlook their poor service and lengthy wait times.

Delightful gyro goodness! Stumbled upon Daphne’s as a late lunch before tackling the rest of my Friday and has quite a nice surprise. This was my first visit to Daphne’s so I stuck to the simple classic gyro with a Greek salad and rice. I didn’t open my package until I arrived home and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of meat in the sandwich! The only complaint I would have is that there was so little tzaziki(sp) sauce and it was not enough to fully supply my meat. Bonus: you can add flavoring to the soda machine. A diet coke(+ cherry) addicts dream.
