So disappointed in the new ownership taking away the charm of the place and destroying the previously delicious green eggs and ham sandwich. Thank goodness the iced tea is the same though!

Sadly, Patti has retired after running this delightful coffeehouse since 1984. We’ll miss the unique sandwiches, strong coffee, great music, local art and books, and funky gifts. Patti says that there is a new lessee for the space and they’ll be training the new owners and staff.

I heard about this place from a coworker at the ranch I work at just down the street, and thought I’d check it out for breakfast. I ordered to go, and the lady at the counter was nice enough and answered all my questions politely. I ended up going with a white hot chocolate and a chocolate croissant, which she was kind enough to heat up for me upon request. I’m not sure what the cost of each item was, but my total was $ 5.40. The order went through fast enough, I think … I looked over and saw that it was on the counter for pickup, though I never heard anyone call it. I can give the benefit of the doubt, though, since I am a little hard of hearing. The customers around the table with the sugar and creamer and all were a bit pushy, which isn’t the shop’s fault, though they might consider a better location for it(it’s kind of stuffed in a corner). The croissant was phenomenal — I giggled as I ate it on my way to work and I got chocolate all over my face and I did not even care. The hot chocolate was also good, though it had cooled past my preference by the time I had an opportunity to drink it … my bad, but I still couldn’t comment on it’s full glory. All in all, a nice place, but I think maybe it was a little early for the staff … perhaps their caffeine hadn’t kicked in yet?

Nice people. Basic coffee bar in a lovely little strip mall just off the 1 – 280 freeway. Has lots of little random gifts and cards that are interesting to check out too.

First time, and last time here. The coffee was bad, the service was worse, and the atmosphere sucked. No one smiles or greets you upon entering. It almost seemed like we were bothering them with our questions. Maybe it’s the location, but the place felt very snooty.

This is a Portola Valley staple. Great all around– food, location, and service. Really nice if you can enjoy your coffee/food outside on one of their tables.

Had iced coffee. Did not blow my mind, but not bad.

Going here has to be a staple for anyone in the area. Whether you’re grabbing your morning cup of joe, or picking up a sandwich at lunch(Try the Barbecue Chicken or the Green Eggs and Ham!) it’s always a great place to work. And Max and Kasra, the dynamic duo of baristas running the front of the store know their stuff. The spirit of this coffee shop is simply ripe with positivity with the two of them around. Make Konditorei your daily stop for coffee. You won’t be sorry.

Things have gotten worse here. I am all about local and supporting small business but that doesn’t mean that the store should let their service crawl to the point that it regularly takes 10 – 15 minutes to get a cup of coffee to go. Unfortunately their best staff members seem to have left which makes it worse. It’s not clear who is even managing these place. Unfortunately I don’t see things improving until they have some competition, which appears to be unlikely.

Great place to grab a drink on the run, grab a quick bite, or sit down and get some work done. busy, but not too loud or distracting, Konditorei seems like a local favorite. The baristas even seem to know peoples names! Plenty of veggie and a few gluten free options, drinks are good, and the people their are really friendly.

I went to this place as a kid, and always loved it. I came back as an adult with my twin, and a friend, I was reunited with aft many years, and still love it. At our table, we spoke about God. God helped us reunite. Really enjoyed the Mexican hot coco with soy milk.

The Ladera center is pretty quiet in the morning, but this place was packed. I had a latte that was pretty good. They also do smoothies and milk shakes. Random: they sell random little gifts like onesies, jewelry, and stuffed animals.

I was driving by after hiking in the area and was happy to discover a coffee place — there’s so little right off 280. The quality of the coffee was really good, but honestly, if a coffee place doesn’t have heavy cream or almond milk without sweeteners, it’s a deal breaker for me. If I wasn’t with a friend, I would have just passed. If coffee is all you do, those niceties make all the difference. Though we were hungry for a bite of something to go with our coffee, the food options were also really limited.

I was looking for a gift at Ladera Garden & Gift, and stopped in here. It was OK. The Mocha was a bit weak in flavor, and more so in kick. There was a large group of realtors loudly discussing the benefits of owning apartments near Caltrain stations. While the establishment isn’t fully responsible for the behavior of customers, it did make the visit much less pleasant and show that there could be more soft/noise eating surfaces there.

It’s average. The service seems great if you’re a regular, but I consistently have had to wait several minutes just to place an order. Not impressed by their drip coffee, but they make a decent Mexican mocha.

This is a great little coffee shop to grab bagel sandwiches, pastries, coffee, etc. there are also some cool gift type items for sale here. Everything is slightly expensive, but most things are in Portola Valley, and hey, you get free Wifi, so that’s all good. Friendly staff, too! Bathroom situation isn’t ideal, and I’d love to see a bit more variety with the food, but their space is limited, so the limited menu is to be expected.

Eh. Service super friendly. Bagel sandwiches were pretty good. Coffee drink was meh(had to add sugar add as it was bitter). Place it didn’t feel very clean. Huge potential, but likely local customer doesn’t mind.

Coffee is good, location is good… I will excuse the slight expensive prices on food but it’s ok, we are in lovely Portola Valley! They didn’t have much pastry choices but they do offer ice cream, smoothies, and bagel sandwiches. Just a heads up for ATM/Credit Card users for even .10¢, you can only use it over $ 3 –it’s fair. Enjoy…plenty of seating outside even of the view is the parking lot.

Wonderful little coffee shop in beautiful Portola Valley. Nice shady outside tables. The lady barista made the best cup of spicy Chai Tea I have ever had. She warmed the cup before pouring the perfect concoction with just the thinnest layer of creamy foam and rich tea. Everyone was very friendly. Lovely relaxing place.

Konditorei is exactly what I was hoping. Small, not over-run with other college students(yet), and a friendly atmosphere conducive to getting some work done. ATMOSPHERE Light holiday music around this time of year. A few other patrons are having conversations in the room. It is audible but not intrusive. I’m working aside another woman against the right wall, which is lined with booth-style seating that faces in towards the rest of the tables. There are ample wall outlets. The serving and counter area has a great layout. COFFEE&BAGELS The coffee is good but not great, in my opinion. The«for here» presentation is very nice — it comes in a plain, white, low profile mug perfect for sipping. Bagels w/cream cheese have a good ratio of cream cheese to bagel.
