I worked in the neighborhood for a couple years and this was my go-to coffee shop. Great people, excellent service, and delicous almond milk lattes. I have since moved on, but will always continue to stop in when in the area. Also, pretty good selection of vegan pastries, sandwiches and grab and go items.

The coffee here is nasty and bitter. Service is usually fine. The WiFi network is strong and always works perfectly, which is a nice plus. Coffee options are all over the place… doesn’t feel streamlined. The décor is boring. Feels very 90’s. Portland can do better.

It’s hard for coffee shops to stand out among the many in Portland, but this one definitely does thanks to its indie music, knowledgable and friendly baristas, cute artwork, and cozy atmosphere. There’s also lots of seating, making it a perfect place to come read, work, or just hang out. My first time here was on the morning of Halloween, and I got the pumpkin spice latte — fitting, of course. It was delicious and not as sweet/artificial tasting as most places make their’s. My boyfriend ordered the Brazilian house coffee, and it was great! I definitely want to buy the bag of it so we can make it at home. I’m so glad we stumbled across this café, and I can’t wait to return to try the raved about teas as well!

We wanted local coffee while walking around downtown and we decided to stop by here. Interesting coffee shop as there were a lot of seating space for people to work, read and hang out. They have a lot of coffee and tea selection. We ordered one of their espresso but we wanted it cold. The drink we got would have probably tasted better if it was hot.

Great coffee and tea selection, lots of seating space, good place to work /read /hang. The food is good, with several vegetarian & vegan selections(personal favorite: the beat sandwich.) Now against my own better judgment, I’ll give away their secret, which is that after 5:00(?) the sandwiches and many of the pastries are half off. That beat sandwich? It drops down to THREEDOLLARS, and in my book, it tastes just as good as it did at noon.

Writing this review while sitting here, being productive on my laptop and drinking some delicious Lychee black tea! This is a great spot with free wifi and an awesome tea collection. I could sit and work here for hours. Face the window for people watching and snack on the delicious looking pastries and sandwiches if you stay long enough. The staff is super friendly and not too crowded on a Friday afternoon. Will definitely be back!

The world coffees that they roast themselves on premise, which makes the whole air smell überdelicious sometimes, have beautiful nutty flavors with hints of vanilla and butter, and they make anything you like. No silly frills like lavender, or somesuch addition(except chocolate for mocha, of course!). This is great go-to place: the inside of the shop is adorable, the music is good, and the outside seating with the big trees makes it a wonderful place to hang out. They even serve wine later on in the day, lunch(quinoa salad looking good) is also possible, and, very important, fast free wifi: yay! World Cup Coffee is actually the first place I visited when I was looking to move to The Rosecity. The realtor suggested me meet here, and low and behold, it remains one of my coffeeplaces.

The location was convenient because it was right across the street from the hostel we were staying at. But I just wasn’t very impressed by the coffee. I got a black coffee, no cream or sugar, and it was incredibly bitter. Like so bitter I couldn’t finish drinking it. I think a pretty good indication of a coffee place should always be their black coffee. If that’s passable or even delightful, then it’s likely the other beverages are good, too. Also, for reference, I came here in the morning, when they should have had fresh-brewed coffee. I wouldn’t go out of my way to come back here, but the place was pretty spacious(one of the largest out of all the coffee places we visited), with plenty of seating and outlets for computers, if you’re in the area and need to sit down with your computer. But, with the hundreds of coffee places around, I’d say this is a solid 2.5 star place. I’ve experienced better coffee(even at other coffee places in Portland), but at least there’s plenty of room to sit down.

I was confused as to whether this place took cards or not but they do(at least when I went there) and I had a good cup of cold brew. The location is a bit more unique, on 18th and Glisan. I’m not sold on the experience but it was a decent place to grab a drink!

Great space, free wifi, seasonal specials! team loved meeting here and enjoyed eggnog lattes, hazelnut mochas and Americanos. There were even comfy couches, a staple for me at a coffeeshop! The staff was super friendly, we loved Mike :)

A nice place across from the hostel in the Alphabet district. Coffee, especially the dark roast, is delicious. Food is okay and pricey. A great place to lounge and study though!

For Portland, this is it. I looked and looked, and this appears to be the only place that does not believe in the Kingsford roasting method for their Espresso, promulgated by another coffee company out of Seattle… I have been drinking Espresso for the last 42 years, and other than a few elite coffee shops in San Francisco, and the rare find that usually goes out of business because of not catering to the sugar fixated public, this appears to be the best consistant choice in Portland. This is one of the few places in the northwest that promotes coffee tasting like coffee, and not some sugary caffiene impregnated sugar drink that only resembles coffee because there is some burnt coffee in the makup of the drink. Did i mention the sugar? The only missing brewing methods appear to be a lack of vacuum pots, nowhere to be seen or purchased, and a hand pump espresso unit, but the shop on Glisan has one on display… All of the Baristas I have seen are excellent. It was a sad day when the Powell’s at Cedar Hills lost their World Cup… So very sad since I live so close to there and could get a double fix at one location…

I like the vibe, my iced latte was spot on, the staff friendly and the Cuban was good too. This would be a regular stop when in the neighborhood, parking can be a bit tricky to find.

Great place post up and get some coffee while using free wifi and enjoying the fact that you won’t have to anxiously watch your battery power drain away because they offer a huge amount of plugs for charging. I got the mocha here because let’s face it that’s my preferred drink. It was good not the best in the city but totally not the worst. They do the little foam art flowers that make me happy. The girls working today were nice but didn’t chat my ear off. They got my drink out quickly and allowed me to settle in to catch up on Unilocal reviews and silently wonder when I let this website take over my life. They have a frequent buyers card that I have actually managed to remember to bring in. I proudly whipped it out of my wallet but no one was impressed as I was for myself. Maybe next time. I would recommend this place as a great spot to work on the computer but not be alone in your cave. It’ll give you a reason to brush your hair! I will be back.

Like this café, quite a lot. So nice and cozy, dark wood, faux sitting room… long sit bars against periphery for street viewing. Neighborhood friendly with great selection of everything. Tried carafe of gunpowder tea and a cubano. Even nabbed some beans for back home.

World Cup Coffee & Tea House is really, to me, World Cup Tea House. This is a solid spot to come laptop it up in the NW area. Whether you live nearby or, like me, sometimes end up with time to kill between meetings in the area, this is a trustworthy spot with reliable WiFi and a decent tea selection. They brew the tea in little personal french presses, so you get to control your own steep time, and it’s always nice to have loose tea vs powder in a bag. This spot also has coffee but I don’t usually order it here, so I can’t speak to the quality of it. But I do give them plus points for having more options than just a few pastries in the food case. There are some savories as well, like pre-made sandwiches that actually look pretty damn good. The vibe here is decently mellow and not too loud, which is good for a solid work sesh. But I do have to note that on a really cold day it’s neither warm nor cozy inside. That said, I still pick this over other potential nearby options when I need a cup of tea and some fast wifi.
